Story
Hello, I'm Alfredo! I'm a 5 year old beagle with a heart as big as my bark. I love gentle pets and long walks, sniffing out the world's mysteries. I am quick to warm up to the people I meet. I have lots of energy so I would love to find a home where I can get lots of exercise! I'm not just a dog, I'm a friend waiting to happen. I like other dogs, however sometimes I can be a little overwhelming for them because I just want to play, play, play! I could live with another dog if we had time to get used to each other and set boundaries. I have not been tested with cats. You should adopt me because I promise to fill your life with sweetness and love, one shy wag at a time.If you would like to meet me, I'm staying at the Sudbury OSPCA, 21 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Ontario and our adoption hoursare 11:00 - 5:00 or give us a call at 705 566 9582. Adopter profiles can be found here https://ontariospca.ca/adopt/adoption-process-and-fees/ to fill out in advance of visiting my Animal Centre! Story
Meet Freya! A 1 year old JRT x poodle. Freya is a sweet and playful dog who is looking for a patient and understanding adopter. She is an energetic, loving companion but does have some challenges that will require time and attention. Freya can be a bit nervous when approached too quickly, especially if someone moves too fast towards her or over her. She thrives with a calm and gentle approach, and once she feels comfortable, she is affectionate and playful. While she loves to engage and bond, she appreciates space and will come to you when she's ready.Freya's previous owner let us know that she does have some resource guarding tendencies, particularly with toys and her bed. This will require consistent training and management to help her feel secure and to prevent any resource conflicts. So far however, she has not exhibited these behaviours in the shelter. As a high-energy dog, she also needs plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to help manage her anxiety. With the right amount of physical activity and structure, she can be a joyful and well-balanced companion. The ideal home for Freya would be one with an experienced adopter who is ready to put in the work to help her feel safe and confident. If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate dog who will repay your effort with love and joy, Freya could be the perfect fit.Freya can be fearful around other dogs however may thrive with a slow introduction. She has not lived with another dog before. We recommend a home without cats for this terrier. Primary Color: Tan Weight: 9.4 Age: 1yrs 0mths 0wks
