Story
Meet Chelsea! Breed: Great Pyrenees Estimated DOB: 03/01/2023 Sex: Female - spayed Weight: 45-50 lbs Up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations Things To Know About Chelsea: Rescued from Mississippi after being heartlessly shoved under the fence at a local shelter Confirmed by an Embark DNA test to be 100% Great Pyrenees Chelsea embodies all the charming traits of her breed in a petite "pocket Pyr" build at only 48 lbs While sometimes aloof, Chelsea is an absolute sweetheart who loves everyone she meets, especially kids Her Pyr-like goofiness provides non-stop laughter and will brighten anyone’s day Low to medium energy level Enjoys playful times with her toys and easily self-entertains A professional nap-taker True to her breed, Chelsea loves being outdoors in any weather and would thrive with a fenced yard Enjoys going for walks but occasionally shows typical Pyrenees stubbornness Rides well in the car but may need a boost to get in Sleeps through the night in her private, gated space Dog-friendly—currently lives in a multi-dog household and loves playing with her foster siblings Like a true Pyrenees, Chelsea can be a bit bossy and protective of her humans, food, and toys around other animals, but with people, she’s a total softie! Cat-friendly—ignores the cat she has met Pig-friendly—enjoys spending time with her pig siblings Due to previous spinal trauma and comprehensive surgery with our friends at VRC Malvern, Chelsea is incontinent. She rocks her doggy diaper and even gets excited to put it on! Her surgery was a huge success, surpassing all expectations! She’s now finished with specialist appointments and only requires regular wellness visits with her vet. Living her best, pain-free life—running, jumping, and enjoying every moment like a typical happy pup. She even participated in our annual Miles for Mutts 5K! Meet Minnie! Breed: Lab/Shepherd Mix Estimated DOB: 10/15/2023 Sex: Female - spayed Weight: 40-45 lbs Vaccinations: Up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations Things to Know About Minnie: Rescued from Mississippi with 5 siblings; born to a white Lab mom In new environments, she tends to find a safe spot to observe. She’s been to various places for socialization, including school visits, fairs, and adoption centers, and has done well. A wonderful girl who will be a loyal, loving companion to her new family. She just needs a little patience as she continues to build confidence. Minnie now loves affection and seeks it from those she trusts but is still uncertain about sudden movements from humans. She prefers to come to you when she’s ready. Likely medium energy but enjoys zoomies and running once she’s comfortable. Great on the leash during walks. Knows "sit" and is eager to learn more. Loves car rides and jumps right into the truck. Likes to gather bones, balls, toys, towels, and blankets into her crate. Crate-trained; her crate is her safe space. She knows when it's time to go in for the night and loves her Cheerios as a reward! Can also be trusted unsupervised outside the crate—she’s not prone to get into things. Housebroken. Dog-friendly; loves to run and play with other dogs, especially once she’s comfortable. She enjoys playing chase and shares her toys very well. Would thrive in a home with a yard and another dog but will need time to come out of her shell and show her true personality. While another dog isn’t necessary, having one may help her settle into her family with confidence. Story
Meet Yeti! Breed: Lab/Shepherd Mix Estimated DOB: 10/15/2023 Sex: Male - neutered Weight: 55 lbs Currently up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations Things to Know About Yeti: Rescued from Mississippi with his 5 siblings. His mom was a white Lab, and his dad a Shepherd. Initially shy, Yeti took a few days to feel comfortable going outside on his own. He started by hiding in his crate with his face in the corner but has since come out of his shell—he now runs around with the other dogs and is becoming more curious about humans. Clearly enjoying being a dog now, Yeti is experiencing the carefree puppyhood he never had! Very curious and gradually learning how to relax, enjoy the yard, and play with toys. Loves to hoard his toys in his crate. Will make a wonderful companion for someone willing to help him build confidence. He loves to sleep at his foster mom's feet. Absolutely adores cheese—he pops up and smiles whenever cheese is mentioned! Crate trained—Yeti loves his crate, which serves as his safe spot. Housebroken on a schedule. Dog friendly—loves running and playing with other dogs, especially his sister Minnie, who encourages him to join in the fun. He’s at his happiest (and silliest!) when running with his foster siblings. Has not been assessed with cats yet. Looking for a loving and committed forever home to provide him with the care and love he deserves. Learn more and apply to adopt at TLCRescuePA.com/adopt Interested in fostering?
