Story
We found Berkley 11 years ago while on a walk. She was running around a fenced yard with several other puppies, not abandoned. We contacted the owner, who was giving the puppies away, as his dog got loose and ended up pregnant. Berkley was a ball of fun when she was a young puppy. She was (and still is) full of energy when she's outside with her ball. Chasing her ball is one of her favorite things to do. Berkley grew up alongside a Great Dane. Berkley is such a good dog, naps most of the day, and loves to run outside and play ball. She has a great disposition, but she is getting older (11 years old), and it’s become clear she needs to be in a home that doesn’t have small children. We want NOTHING more than to find her a good, safe home, where she can be loved and cared for the last few years of her life. Aussie Mix / 11 years old / Inside Dog / Needs home with no small children, small dogs or cats / Up to date on vaccines / Spayed / Some arthritis in left hip.

Story
Arizona is a large chestnut brindle LOVER with extraordinary ears who is so ready to go home with the perfect family for her. Her ideal family is active, loving and experienced with high-energy dogs. Arizona loves walking, running, playing, swimming and go, go, going with her favorite humans. She thrives in a well structured environment with a solid routine. She is sweet, affectionate, a great listener and gives the best kisses. Arizona is the longest resident dog at HES, but in all of her time here she has gotten to learn so many new skills and tricks while she waits for the right family for her. She is now the most classically obedient dog around. She will gladly show off how she can sit, stay, down, heel, go to bed and shake hands. She is amazing on a leash and loves to play with discs and Jolly Balls. She is house broken, does well in a crate and enjoys car rides. She's great at learning new tricks too so we hope you are ready for some fun! This sweet baby girl needs extra training and tlc when meeting new people and controlling her reactivity. She doesn't love strangers and isn't a fan of eye contact from people she doesn't know. She can get vocal when she's scared. Arizona can do great with other dogs, as long as they are the right fit for her fun loving, outspoken, rowdy play style. No cats or children please. To make sure that Arizona's transition to her forever home is smooth sailing Dog Wizard of Chattanooga will offer free training classes for her and her forever family.
