Story
Three years old, neutered, and was a rescue; it takes some time for him to earn your trust; he is strong and sometimes pulls on leashes when walking. He has typical stubborn husky behavior; no cats or small animals, and no kids under 14, please, due to his mouthy and nipping behavior, and his bite is strong; sometimes you will bleed if you force him, so do not! Always ask for his permission before patting him, especially when he is lying down, which is the most vulnerable position for an outdoor animal like him during his earlier life when he was left outside 24/7 in the yard with a lack of socialization and human interaction. He can stay by himself for around 4 to 6 hours, but remember that Husky is a pack animal, which is not recommended for more than 2 hours. When leaving him alone, you need to lock him outside or create a safe zone for him inside the house; just like most huskies, they will start to be destructive and chew when bored. Generally, after three years old, they will begin to calm down. He was never crate trained, rides decent in the car, but makes lots of exciting noise! Trial adoption is recommended; feel free to see if he fits your family, I need to find him a good home, so I do not mind taking him back if things do not go well with the adoption.

Playful and full of energy. Healthy and young, this girl is shy initially, but she opens up to humans with good intentions. Our rescue will supply a real-time GPS tracking collar for her.

Roxy is the absolute sweetest girl. She is so grateful to have been rescued but is very much needing a place to call home. Sweet and shy, needs time to decompress, mellow and chill energy for a husky. The perfect temperament for a husky! She will warm your heart with lots of kisses and cuddles. She was found as a stray but it is clear she had an owner and was not meant to be out on her own. She is looking forward to meeting her furever home!

Story
Found as stray, medium energy with high prey drive. Need a family without any animal, slow introduction is required. Animals need space to decompress, and a quiet environment with less traffic in the house is ideal. Apollo will begin to open up and loosen after a month of rehab and conditioning. Our rescue will help and guide you when a foster or new family takes on the journey with him.

Story
Star is fostered in CA. Star is great with dogs, but having energy can play excitedly and may not be a fit for puppies or elderly dogs. Star is a gorgeous girl with brains and energy to match! She might be blind, but that doesn’t slow her down at all. She navigates just fine and all the important things (food, sniffy walks, petting) don’t require sight. Star also had a couple of seizures, which the vet is calling idiopathic epilepsy since no other cause was found in testing, so she takes Keppra and that has prevented any more episodes. She has already learned a lot of words, including: focus, sit, step, and walking. Given her puppy energy level, she would love to be in a home with another dog her size or bigger and no small children or cats. Star *loves* meeting new people and dogs, exploring her environment, eating, walking, and snoozing in her crate or in the car. She is still learning to be the best dog, but she is a quick study. She needs a family experienced with Huskies or similar breeds who are willing to continue her education. If you are active and ready for an energetic beauty, contact us to learn more about Star! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
