Story
Hi, I'm Penny! Don't you think I'm a cutie? I may have had a rough start, but thanks to my rescuers, life is looking up! Now, all I need is a loving family to call my own. I'm a happy, healthy girl who's eager to learn and grow. Very Treat Motivated. With a little guidance, I'll be the best companion you could ask for. I love to play, ride in the car, and I'm great with kids. While I haven't met any cats yet, I'm open to new friends! As for other dogs, I get along with most, but it's always best to meet beforehand. Plus, I'm a pro on the leash and can't wait to explore the world with you on walks!

Story
I have a job opportunity that does not allow me to bring Hazel. She is great with kids and people but sometimes untrusting of other animals. Shes 8 years old, her birthday is 06/12/2016. She will probably go through an anxious phase when rehomed, because moving apartments with her over the years has always taken a few weeks adjustment until she feels settled. But once she is used to a place, she is the sweetest angel and very cuddly and well behaved. She is older so she sleeps a lot. She hides in the closet during a thunderstorm. She loves to be covered up with a blanket when she’s sleeping. And she is predictable in her bathroom/walks—two short walks a day wear her out. She would prefer to just sit in the sun until it’s time to cuddle on the couch. If someone who is home often and wants one pet would love her, I know she could be happy. She weighs 40lbs and shes australian cattle dog mix.

Story
Meet Zip & Zap Zip and Zap are a bonded pair of 2.5-year-old cattle dogs who are inseparable. You'll never find one without the other—they truly are the best of friends. Both have a strong herding instinct and love to explore their surroundings, making them the ideal companions for an active family. Zip is the larger of the two, weighing in at 45lbs with a bright coat and a heart full of affection. He's got a great temperament and bonds quickly with people. Zip loves attention and might get a little jealous when his sister gets some love, but he's never aggressive—just eager to share the affection. Zap, the 38lb female, is a beautiful dog with a unique double mask and a story to tell. After chewing on an electrical cable as a pup, her front teeth fused together, giving her a one-of-a-kind smile. She’s also got a couple of small scars from the incident that serve as reminders of her resilience. Despite her past, Zap is quick, intelligent, and just as affectionate as her brother. Zip and Zap are friendly with other dogs, however we are recommending that they be the only household pets, mainly because of their strong bond with each other. They are gentle and friendly enough to be in a home with kids who can properly respect their space, as with any dog. Both dogs were surrendered together and narrowly escaped euthanasia in a San Antonio shelter due to overcrowding. Now, they’re ready to find a forever home where they can share their love, loyalty, and zest for life. If you’re looking for a pair of devoted companions who will stick by your side through thick and thin, Zip and Zap are the perfect match.

Story
Are you a gentle person looking for a companion who is easy to exercise in your fenced yard and a wonderfully entertaining friend? That's ME! I’m Sydney, a small girl (27 lbs), 18 months old, spayed, healthy, vaccinated BC/Mini Aussie mix. I like training exercises (treats!) and learn fast! I sleep deeply through the night in my comfy crate and don’t mind spending a bit of time there during the day if you have to run errands (like getting me new tennis balls!) I have a busy mind, will bark at sudden noises (apartment living would not be a good fit). I can be picky about canine friends and not a good buddy for birds, cats, squirrels, rabbits, or small children. I am smart and sensitive, will follow you everywhere, look to you for guidance and comfort (and tennis balls). I truly want to please you. I am expressive, have the cutest wiggle butt you’ve EVER EVER seen, and if you love to laugh out loud, I’m your girl! I am currently in the DFW area and ready to be adopted! Apply for me at bcrrt.com.

Story
Howdy! I’m Winnie - the sweetest cattle dog in Central Texas! And I dare you to resist my sassy strut and wiggly tail nub! I’m a 6-7(ish) year old female Texas Heeler (that’s Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd if you were wondering). But don’t let my age fool you into thinking I act like a senior dog. I love playing tug and zooming around the yard with my foster brother! And afterward, I’m happy to chill with you on the sofa, or wherever you prefer to cuddle - because I LOVE a good cuddle with my humans! I’ve been with BCRRT since last year because when they found me, I was VERY pregnant and also heartworm positive. I was the best mama ever to 9 pups, but I’m happy to be retired from that and now I just play auntie to my kittty foster siblings - I’m great with them, as well as the chickens and any dogs or humans that I meet! I’m also crate trained and my foster mom says I’m a good girl on the leash and in the car. I'm all healthy now and ready to meet my furever humans. So if you’re ready to welcome all this charm and huggability into your home, apply to adopt at BCRRT.com

These pups are in Pilot Point, Texas too!

Story
Hiya! My name is Callie and I am a 4-year-old Aussie/Lab mix. I've got lots going for me and can't wait to find a family I can adore fur-ever!! My foster momma is doing a great job loving me and I'll make.a fabulous addition to my new family!! I cam to the shelter after I'd been found laying in the street after getting struck by a car. Fortunately, I wasn't injured too severely and after a couple weeks to recoup, I've been good as new! My foster momma says I am laid back, happy and friendly. I love air conditioning, puppies, and treats. I am house and crate trained to boot! I am a little selective with my female adult doggie friends but so far, I haven't met a puppy or male dog I haven't liked. Oh... maybe I should tell you one last thing about me. The reason I probably got hit by a car is that I didn't know it was coming. My eyesight works great but my hearing doesn't I am deaf and since I didn't hear the car coming from behind me, I wasn't able to get out of the way in time. But that sure doesn't stop me from loving life! Contact the shelter and they'll put you in touch with my foster mom and she'll tell you how awesome I am!!

Story
Meet Alisha, a 5-year-old, 45-pound Aussie/Terrier mix with a sweet and affectionate personality. This lovely lady adores attention and loves being petted, but she's also perfectly content to relax on her own when needed. Alisha is selective with treats, but when she finds one she likes, she takes it ever so gently. Alisha is great with kids and gets along well with submissive male dogs, making her a wonderful fit for a family environment. She’s not a fan of female dogs and prefers male dogs that are calm and respectful. While she’ll play with them, she’s quick to let them know when they’re getting too rowdy. Alisha walks beautifully on a leash and is well-behaved and quiet indoors, making her an easy companion to have around. Though she’s low-key, she’ll always be near her people when given the chance. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s happy to be by your side or just nearby, Alisha could be the perfect match for you!
