Story
Hi! My name is Barnaby! I am a male Collie/Australian Kelpie mix approx. 7 months old and weigh around 20 Lbs. I was found off of Glenwick Dr. in Rockwall on 03/06/25 and never reclaimed by my owners. So now, I am available for adoption and looking for my furever family. I am a very sweet and playful boy. Since I am still a puppy, I will need plenty of training, patience and love as I acclimate to my new environment once adopted. I do walk on a leash, but I do not appear to have any formal leash training. I am very curious and love to play and explore new things. Based on my overall personality, I should do fine with other dogs as well as cats and children. If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is recommended prior to adoption to make sure we get along before you take me home. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, boosters to date and heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting me, please submit an online adoption application at https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/. Once submitted, RAC staff will be in touch with next steps.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. March 12, 2025, 3:57 pm

Story
This handsome boy needs a very special human in his life as he just can not bring himself to trust many humans. Prince might like someone immediately but it is rare, he did not like his foster mom at all initially but now he is really loving and adoring with her. He is an outgoing and fun dog once he chooses to trust someone and otherwise makes it clear he prefers to be left alone. Prince lives with lots of other dogs and is especially playful with many of the smaller dogs in his home. He has not been cat tested but ignores the cats in their catio in his foster home. He has learned to accept and walk on a leash and even enjoys going for walks now. He is house-trained and has good house manners which is great because he hates being in a crate. He needs a home without a lot of people coming and going and/or with a place he can be away from people that do not live with him and no young children. His perfect home would be his human and how many other dogs his human would like to have live with them.

Story
Meet Willow!Hi there! My name is Willow, and I`m a sweet and playful four-year-old dog. I absolutely love being around kids, and I`m known for being great with them. Although I can be a bit skittish around men when we first meet, I quickly warm up and become playful once I feel comfortable.I have excellent house manners, which means I know how to behave well inside. I never beg for food, and you won`t hear me barking unnecessarily. At night, I love to sleep at the foot of my fosters`s bed, keeping them company and providing them with warmth and comfort.Sometimes, when my foster leaves, I may scratch at the door. However, with a bit of training and adjustment, this behavior will improve over time. It could be a good idea to consider using a crate or kennel to help me feel secure and comfortable when I`m alone.Overall, I`m a really nice dog, and I would make a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loving and loyal furry friend. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Meet the Handsome Jake II! He is a 2-year-old, 60lb Blue Heeler, with black, grey, and a touch of tan. Our family picked him up in Canton, TX a little over 2yrs ago. He has been an inside family member from day one. He is very affectionate with our children. Jake is a very energetic and loving pup who loves to run and play. He always keeps an eye on where everyone is. He is glued to everyone's hip to make sure we are supervised. He loves to jump up and give hugs but at the end of the day he is fine laying next to you for some rest. He does not get along with other large dogs and currently lives with us. He is currently having food aggression as well as aggression with toys. Jake likes to cuddle up with his humans which is me sitting on my chair and him laying next to me. An ideal home for Jake would be one with no other animals or someone who is highly experienced with Healers. Jake is crate/leash/house trained and knows his basic obedience commands. He is one smart pup! This amazing pup is deserving of the perfect furever home. Could it be with you? Story
Meet Leopold, the definition of a gentle giant. With his calm demeanor and sweet personality, he's the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal, easygoing friend. His foster parent describes him as a happy guy who walks calmly on leash despite his size. He's respectful of boundaries—no counter surfing or invading your personal space here! Instead, he shows his affection by gently leaning into you during pets and occasionally wandering over for some well-mannered attention. He's perfectly content entertaining himself but will check in regularly for some quality human time. When settling into his crate, he always does a cute little circle on his bed before lying down—a ritual that's sure to melt your heart. Though slightly shy around new experiences, he's remarkably brave with just a little encouragement. A reassuring "it's ok bud" and a scratch on the head is all he needs to face new sounds or situations with confidence. This well-mannered boy is fully potty trained and does wonderfully in his crate! He's calm around other dogs and seems content to coexist peacefully, occasionally engaging in gentle play. While his experience with cats and children is currently unknown, his gentle nature suggests he'd likely adapt well with proper introductions. Apply to meet Leopold today!

Story
Meet Cheddar! (Don’t you think he needs a girlfriend named Brie?!! But , I digress. ) Cheddar is a 1 year old border collie mix who, despite a run of bad luck, is determined to beat the odds. Abandoned in a parking lot and left to fend for himself, he eventually found himself picked up by animal control. The shelter was a loud and scary place, and Cheddar was afraid there and soon was placed on the EU list. He was given an extension and a volunteer profiled him on her Facebook page, where he was noticed by rescue and placed into a foster home. Unfortunately, he developed kennel cough from his time at the shelter, and although not feeling his best, he has shown himself to be a gentle soul. Cheddar seems to be potty trained, no accidents in the house, and looks for praise each time he does his business outside. Initially a little shy, he now chooses to sit or lay close to his people. He rides well in a car, and walks beautifully on leash. He has played briefly with his fosters dog. As he regains his strength, we are excited to see more of his personality shine. He’ll thrive with a patient person who can help build his confidence and show him the love he deserves. To meet Cheddar, please fill out an application! Application available at https://www.pawsofloverescue.com/adoption-application. Adoption donation includes spay/neuter, microchip, deworming, dhpp vaccinations, rabies shot, bordetella nose spray and any other necessary procedures prior to adoption. Dallas/Ft. Worth areaApplications can be found online at www.pawsofloverescue.com, under the adopt tab.  We require an approved application before a meet and greet is set up.  February 26, 2025, 9:07 pm
