Tyler needs a home with someone who has the time to train him. We are concerned that he will cause trouble with our neighbor’s 1500 cows currently calving, and the cattlemen are paid to protect the herd at all costs.

Story
Brought in Tyler from my daughter, who got him from her in-laws after he tried to jump out of his kennel on Halloween night 2024. He was injured in the attempt and needed stitches, and once he was healed my daughter and her husband decided the dog, who had been kenneled his whole life, needed a change of scenery. Once he got to us, he was very curious and we tried to use a Halo GPS collar on him, which amounted to no good. One critical item we forgot to think about was that our neighbor, who is a cattleman, was bringing in his annual herd of pregnant cows (~1500) into the pasture surrounding our place, and that the hired men are charged with protecting the herd at any cost... We think that Tyler, once he is properly acclimated and trained, could be a great dog, but we have neither the time nor the experience to do this, and short of keeping him tied up all the time which likely leads to his boredom and destructive tendencies, he will continue to be bored and destructive.

Story
Hi everyone, this is Sandy! Sandy is a playful and energetic 10-month-old pup who loves attention and belly scratches. I’ve had her since she was four months old, but due to changing family dynamics, longer work hours, and being diagnosed with raynauds syndrome I can no longer give her the time and care she deserves. She is some type of poodle mix, though Im not exactly sure what her specific mix is. She would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where she can run and play. She is up-to-date on all her vaccinations but has not been spayed yet (you may want to confirm if she’s old enough for the procedure). Sandy is a loving and sweet companion, and I want to ensure she finds a home where she will get the love and attention she needs. If you or someone you know might be interested in giving her a forever home, please reach out! I am open to traveling if need be.

Story
Whiskey is a sweet, fun loving and active girl! She is around 7 months old. She is a husky/lab/ greyhound at least that is what we have been told. This girl does like to cause some mischief when she gets bored so an active family with a fenced yard is a must! Antlers and toys that are indestructible are also a good help for keeping her out of trouble most of the time. She is great with other dogs though she isn't the best at understanding when they have had enough of her puppy energy. She would do best in a home where she has another dog friend to burn her energy and continue teaching her how to dog! She is working on walking on a leash. She is mostly housetrained. She is great with dog savvy cats but I would say no kittens for her at this point as she doesn't understand how big she is and wants to play with them a bit too rough. She is starting to like her kennel more but is a barker when you leave so apartment living isn't going to be the best option for her. She is ready to find her new family to continue teaching her how to be the best dog out there.

This is Aurora. She also LOVES water. She's adventurous and a great climber so she needs a tall (5ft+) fence. She has a high prey drive and would not do good in a house with small animals.

Story
Meet Finn!! He is a corgi/mini aussie mix, around 1 year old, small but mighty! Finn is around 25 lbs, very sweet boy that likes to know where his person is. He is learning how to be an inside dog, we are working on kennel training, and house manners. Finn does well with other dogs, he just takes some time to warm up and want to play. Finn does need someone willing to help him come out of his shell and not be timid with new people or places, but that will come with just getting him socialized. If interested, please fill out the pre adoption questionnaire on our website hsuv.org
