Story
Nyx (left) and Betty (right) are sisters. They do not need to be adopted together as they spend time on their own but they have slept together since birth and are an amazing pair. Betty is the sweetest dog around and very playful. Nyx has the sweetest look that she gives everyone and is the best cuddler. Both listen amazingly well and are house trained. The reason we are not keeping them is because we rent and already have mom and dad at home. On top of that, too many dogs have triggered my daughters allergies so we can only handle 2. We are looking for amazingly loving homes for these sisters either together or apart.

Story
Ollie is 7 years old. I’ve owned him for 16-18 months. He’s a spoiled house dog who loves country truck rides with his head out the window. He lives in a house with four kids and a Doberman who he gets along with great. Unfortunately, he’s overly protective of me. He’s my shadow. He growled at and lunged at two non threatening people (adults) when they entered my dark room while Ollie was curled up in my lap. Nobody was injured. Im not a dog trainer, and can’t turn this off. I love this dog to the edge of the earth and back, but don’t want to have him be over protective of me with the wrong person next time (child/grandmother/etc). I selected no adoption fee because I care more about him getting a good home than money. Reach out for more info, videos or to meet him.

Story
Meet Buddy! Buddy is a wonderful boy that is about 4 years old and roughly 60lbs. He was surrendered to us when the family dynamic changed in his home and they could no longer have him. He has bounced around a few homes in his life and is looking for a consistent permanent home to love on him. He did live successfully in the home with another dog, but can be reactive with new dogs. He could possibly live in a home with another dog with a proper introduction. He tends to chase cats, but not hurt them so that is up to the potential adopter on whether or not they think he would be a good fit if there are already cats in the home. He would do best in a home with older children or adults that will give him space while he's eating. Buddy is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Buddy please fill out an application at al-van.org. *Some pet-finding websites aside from our own are very slow to update after an animal is adopted, and this is outside of our control. To see the most up-to-date list of animals available, please go to al-van.org/adopt.*

Story
Porkchop is a mellow, loving girl, but she is shy with new people. She's outgoing, affectionate, and playful once she knows you, so a potential adopter would need to be willing to spend some time with her in a meet and greet to get to know her...she's definitely worth it. She's the perfect dog to hang out quietly with you and to run around with you in the yard while she has the zoomies! Porkchop can be dominant with other dogs, but she is open to meeting new friends. Like any dog, she has her preferences! She does need to go to a home with no cats or small animals. Porkchop came to us heartworm positive, but she has been treated and has tested negative since completing treatment. As well as being heartworm negative, Porkchop is also spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. If you'd like to meet and adopt this beautiful, happy girl, visit al-van.org/adopt to fill out an application.
