Story
Valley Girl. This little girl is the sweetest. Initially found as a stray, Valley was facing euthanasia as she was so scared in the shelter environment. You ought to see her run and play with the other dogs now! Valley may be shy initially but once you've earned her trust, she's a joyful, happy, funny, silly, sweet affectionate pup. Potential adopters will need to come and spend time with her on multiple occasions, but it will be so worth it. All it takes is a little patience to reap her as your incredible reward. Valley loves other dogs and is good with cats. She does need a fenced-in yard as although she loves to explore on quiet wooded trails, she thrives in a well-known, stable environment. Valley is approximately 4 yrs. old and 35 lbs. She's the perfect sized pooch! Want more info on Valley Girl? We don't blame you a bit. Don't call! Go to: www.AlmostHomeDogRescueNC.com to submit your no-cost/ no-obligation adoption application. An Adoption Coach will then reach out by phone to tell you all about this special girl. Story
There is something about a senior dog that brings out the best in us. Loving an elderly pup who wants nothing more than to love and be loved is so gratifying. Meet Barney, a 15 yr old mixed breed boy who is affectionate, gentle, wise...and blind. His loss of eyesight doesn't stop this handsome fella from exploring his safe environment - in between long naps, cuddles with humans, and the occasional snack. This sweet boy shows his gratitude for pets and ear scratches by gently asking for more. And then, off for another long nap. Barney is house trained and asks to be let out to do his business. But as an older gent, he may "leak" in between potty breaks. His foster mom easily solved that fact of life by giving Barney a stylish diaper to keep him comfortable. Berry also receives daily (low cost) meds required for his advanced age, which he takes without protest. A caring benefactor has generously offered to cover the adoption fee for the loving person/family who would like to give Barney a home. Would you like to love a sweet, gentle soul during the last stage of his life? Barney will reward you with unconditional love and affection. Story
Introducing... Millie. The sweetest dog on the planet. Millie is a kind, gentle old soul. She came to us from a shelter completely shut down. With the loving care of her foster parents and their dog Sam, she has become a quiet cuddle bug who is learning how to play. She's still shy with strangers, but in her comfortable home environment has nothing but love to give. Millie is a perfect 37-lbs and has recently been treated for heartworm. She is approximately 3-yrs old, crate trained, house trained, leash trained using a harness and learning her basic commands. Our best guess is that Millie is a Spaniel and according to our Breed ID app, Lab mix. No matter what her breed makeup is, she's absolutely perfect. We know, we know. You want her right? Well, Millie has specific needs. She needs a quiet household, a calm, confident helper dog as a companion and a fenced-in yard. Think you have what it takes to give this sweet girl the home she deserves? Submit your no-cost / no-obligation Adoption Application on our website at: ALMOST HOME DOG RESCUE NC . An Adoption Coach will contact you to tell you all about Millie and help determine whether she'd be a good fit for you. Follow us on Facebook @‌AlmostHomeDogRescueNC
