Labrador Retriever American Pit Bull Terrier

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meeko spent eight years in a backyard before coming to us, but please don`t feel sorry for him. He`s accustomed to being outside, and it`s where he feels most at home. While he could adjust to being an inside dog, we believe he would thrive spending the majority of his time in a fenced-in yard, eagerly awaiting his person`s return to play fetch with tennis balls. Meeko`s eyes light up with joy when he`s chasing after those tennis balls, and it warms our hearts to see him so happy. Resembling a short-legged Lab mix, Meeko is an incredibly affable companion. He has made remarkable progress in understanding how to walk on a leash and has discovered a deep love for exploring outside the confines of the yard. If there`s someone out there with a fenced-in yard who would cherish a wonderfully cheerful, ball-loving, and compactly built good boy that adores human company, please consider meeting our Meeko!

Story
Charlie is a well mannered tripod one-eyed boy who does great in a crate, and he’s house trained. While Charlie won’t make a good brewery dog, he does make a perfect nap companion and is content waiting at home for you to return. Charlie can be uncomfortable and intimidated by men and strangers, so it’s best he keeps his distance and wears a muzzle in public. He is absolutely wonderful in the car and loves, loves, LOVES car rides. Charlie gives the best kisses and he’s waiting to share his love with a family who can understand and respect his limits. Ideally, he would be the only critter in the home, with no kids or young children. He is a perfect, well-mannered boy who knows basic commands such as sit, come, and stay. Thanks to Charlie’s Behaviorist, Tiffany, he can now cohabitate with other respectful and size appropriate dogs, but will require slow integration. Charlie is a mellow, laid-back boy who is comfortable waiting at home for his people to return. He is house & crate trained, and would love nothing more than a chill movie day! We are determined to find Charlie his forever family, but we’re also realistic that that will take some time. For now, Charlie would love to enjoy some time with a foster family. He’ll need a family who can meet him where he’s at, respect his limitations, and commit to working with him through his obstacles. Charlie is such a good boy and he deserves the world! Reach out if you're interested in fostering or adopting this very special boy. Charlie is currently being fostered in Columbus, OH.

Story
Meet Beau! This playful young guy is looking for a forever family. At this time, he should be kept separated from other dogs in the home, and only older or no kids. Beau was previously very dog friendly, but in his last home experienced some issues with the other dog in the home and needs some time to decompress and feel safe. Beau has some classic teenager antics, and will benefit greatly from some positive training - we have some great local and virtual recommendations! If you're interested in fostering or adopting this goofy guy, reach out today! We would love to get him out of the Clubhouse and into a home. Beau is up to date on vaccines and neutered.

Story
A Good Samaritan recently reached out to us about a dog who needed immediate help. But one dog quickly turned into two, then three, then eight, and now there may be a total of seventeen dogs all living in an abandoned house. We do not know for sure at this point how many dogs there are (the story keeps changing), but we ended up taking three new Misfits for now. We knew as soon as we got the call, time was of the essence…& it is. These dogs have been living in absolutely deplorable conditions. No access to food or water, they were left…just forgotten about in an abandon home. These dogs are walking skeletons, coated in fleas/flea dirt on any hair they have left. Collars have been so worn and torn, it’s simply just thread now. Two of them, Forest & Arrow, are in the worst shape. With the lowest body condition scores Misfit Mountain has ever received, we simply could not turn these kiddos away; ethically we have a responsibility to help them. Saylor is also very emaciated, and very scared of her surroundings. Saylor is currently in foster, where we are working with a veterinarian to get her healthy. Her foster is working with her on feeling safe and gaining trust. Once she is cleared medically, she will be vaccinated and spayed. Follow along on Facebook and Instagram to keep with Saylor and her siblings' progress, and if you're interested in foster-to-adopt, reach out!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Sunflowers are often called “happy” flowers, and it`s easy to see why—they can instantly brighten anyone`s mood. They symbolize long life, lasting happiness, good fortune, and promising opportunities. That spirit is embodied perfectly by this incredible black-and-white Boxer/Bulldog mix we’ve named Sunflower. When you think of flowers, sweet aromas usually come to mind. However, our Sunflower had a rather different introduction—she arrived smelling like skunk and covered in fleas. But don`t let that fool you; her radiant personality shines through despite her rough past.Sunflower has been a wonderful guest while here. In her kennel, she stays calm, rarely barks, keeps her kennel spotless, and waits patiently for her turn to go outside and potty. She walks beautifully on a leash and greets every person she meets with unwavering joy. Her energy level is low, and she doesn`t demand constant attention, making her the perfect companion.Sunflower is ready and waiting for you to come and meet her. She won’t disappoint!
