We got him when he was 8 weeks old (2022). He is full of energy, loves fetch, running, kids, other dogs and people. Even though we have a large fenced in yard he needs more space and playtime.

Story
Principe is a spirited, playful Coonhound mix who joined the family after Rita, a cautious rescue cat, had already made the home her own. We hoped they would adjust to each other, but it’s clear they are not a good match. Principe’s instinct to chase Rita keeps her on edge, while Rita’s hissing and swiping leave Principe agitated and confused. The tension forced us to divide the house—a solution that seemed practical but has become a daily struggle. Doors must stay closed, and we constantly monitor to ensure neither crosses into the other’s space. This arrangement stresses both pets, limiting their freedom and leaving them isolated. For us, it means constant tension, double feeding stations, separate playtimes, and disrupted routines. While we love Principe deeply, we realize this isn’t fair to him or Rita. Rehoming Principe is a painful but necessary decision. We are seeking a loving home for him with no cats—a place where he can thrive.

Story
ABOUT ME... I have been so excited to tell everyone about myself! My name is Madison, but most people call me Maddy. I am a 6-year-old, chihuahua mix with stunning eyes. I became a part of rescue when my mommy became ill. Another wonderful family member took me in and was taking great care of me. She loves me a ton, but I get a bit anxious around the kids, therefore, she reached out to COPAW to find me a forever home. I know this was a hard decision for her, but it was also a necessary decision. I will never forget her love and kindness. I AM GREAT WITH... I love adults, other dogs, naps, and exploring my surroundings. My foster home does not have cats, so I am not sure if I would embrace them or not. I sleep through the night without making a sound. I love to cuddle and be beside my human. I walk great on my leash. My foster mom says I am no trouble at all, I am so sweet and quiet it is unreal. I like to follow my foster mom and around just to see if she is doing anything fun. I AM STILL WORKING ON... Since I came to my foster mom's house I have had a few accidents. I was great at going outside to potty before I came here. She said not to worry, it is probably the change in environment. I am working hard and doing a lot better now that I have been here for a while. My foster mom does not put me in a crate, she does not think it is necessary, because I am a good girl, I do not mess with anything in the house. I have been working on my weight. It got a little out of control in my former home. I have made progress and would like my forever home to continue to help me get my fabulous figure back. I AM NOT GOOD WITH... I am not good with kids. They are cute, but they make me a little anxious. **All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. Story
ABOUT ME: Hi!! I’m Briana, Bri for short. But I respond to “puppy dog” because that’s what my toddler foster brother calls me. I am SO sweet, SO cuddly, and 100% puppy. I AM GREAT WITH: All people! I currently live with a 10 year old and a 2.5 year old and I am gentle (but excited) with the toddler. I eagerly sit outside his door every morning and am going to make the BEST fur sister. I am ALL cuddles all the time. I get along well with other doggies and I am very playful! I AM STILL WORKING ON: Potty training. I do best with a schedule (when mom has weird work days, I’m more accident prone). I’ve never met a cat! I do okay on a leash but I am SO excited about everything. I do well in my crate for a few hours but I’ve never been left for long. And we’re still working on what’s mine to put in my mouth, toddler toys versus my chew toys! I do “sit” and “drop it” pretty well! I AM NOT GOOD WITH: I match the excitement in the room so sometimes it gets a little hectic. I am also VERY food motivated and this toddler hasn’t made it easy for me to learn to not eat food from people so my foster mom keeps us separated when he eats! **All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. Story
ABOUT ME: Hi! My name’s Macie, and I’m on a journey to becoming the best house dog ever! I was found as a stray in Merion Village, and even though I was a little scared of the world at first, I’ve made huge progress in learning to trust humans again. Unfortunately, rescues are BURSTING at the seams, and I am currently in boarding, waiting patiently for my furever home. My adoption fee has been reduced to $75.00, as I currently require daily medication while I adjust. I AM GREAT WITH: • Children & cats! • Gentle, non-reactive dogs • Learning commands and leash training (I’m already a pro at sitting at corners!). • Crate training—I’ve got it down! • People who are patient and willing to help me continue learning and growing. I AM STILL WORKING ON: • Trusting new people, especially men—but I warm up quickly with treats! • Building confidence in new situations—I’m trying hard every day! I AM NOT SURE ABOUT YET: • Dogs that are very forward or reactive with me I REQUIRE: • Plenty of exercise, either with a fenced yard or regular walks. • A patient, loving home to help me grow into the amazing dog I know I can be. • Anxiety medications for now, but maybe not furever. MORE ABOUT ME! • I’ve discovered some of my favorite things in life: peanut butter (yum!), ice cubes (aka: Ice COOBIES), playing tug-of-war with my rope toy, soaking up the sun on warm days, and, of course, tasty treats. • I’ve been working hard on my training. I know commands like “sit,” “stay,” “leave it,” and “easy.” On walks, I keep a loose lead and sit politely at every corner or when my handler stops. • Treats are my love language, and I’m always looking to my humans for guidance because I want to be the very best girl I can be! • I’m still learning that humans can be kind and trustworthy. I can be a little nervous around men, but if they have treats, I tend to warm up quickly. Right now, I prefer meeting new people on my level (kneeling, or sitting down), but I’m building my confidence every day. • I’m currently on anxiety medicine to help me adjust to this new house dog lifestyle, but I don’t think I’ll need it forever. • A fenced yard would be amazing, but I’d also be happy with plenty of walks and exercise to keep me active and happy! • I am spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and current on preventatives.
