Story
What a face! Humphrey is a big doofus. When he arrived he weighed 14 lbs. He was living in a crate and being starved to death. But with the right vet care and foster he is now 40 lbs and loving life. He still wants to eat too fast so he uses a special bowl to slow him down. Humphrey is still learning he can go outside to potty and he doesn't have to do his business in his crate. At some point his ears were cut off, probably with scissors, but that doesn't seem to bother him. And it just gives him a special look, along with his squatty muscular body. He needs a strong person to help him keep learning life can be good. He can be reactive with some dogs. No idea about cats but probably should not live with them. He does think he should be a lap dog and loves belly rubs. I am in a foster home so if you are interested in adoptiong me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process.  Due to the large number of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.  November 6, 2024, 3:21 pm

Story
Silky soft, snuggly, and eager to please all the people he meets. Oakley is willing to trust new people, show his belly, give kisses. Knows 'sit,' 'lie down,' and getting acquainted with 'stay,' 'leave it,' and 'get down. Very interested in other dogs, but willing to be instructed to 'leave it' and carry on walking when we passed yards or houses with barking dogs. Fairly good on a leash. Very energetic, will be a good companion for someone athletic. But also Willing to hang out quietly while I you work on the computer or watched TV; even willing to ignore the nearby cats most of time. Curious about them but not wanting to interact with them. Before considering him as a pet do research on the breed. He is a herding dog and will try to steer you where he thinks you need to go. This will include nipping at your heels and hands if they are by your side. He will be good with older kids that understand his behavior. Story
I'm just a happy go lucky young guy with lots of energy. I love running in the yard, playing with other dogs, going on walks. I'm working on my commands and manners. I'm cool with cats, older kids. I think i would love to be a running partner for someone. I would really like to have another dog to play worth or be able to do to doggie daycare. >I am in a foster home so if you are interested in adoptiong me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process.  Due to the large number of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.  November 17, 2024, 7:44 pm

Story
Lima bean had a really rough start in life. He was 1 of over 50 dogs living in horrible conditions. Since being removed, he has received vet care and is slowly learning people petting him is ok. He still quivers initially but is starting to realize it is not a bad thing. He has no idea how to play or what toys are. Walking on a leash is a very scary thing. He is a work in progress that needs a quiet home that will continue to slowly work with him so he knows he is safe. He may never be a happy go lucky dog that is excited to see people but he will learn a soft bed and chew toy are good things. Lima bean needs a calm, quiet house. He won't do well with children but another dog to help him learn how to be a dog might help him trust quicker. Lima bean is in a foster home so if you are interested in adoptiong, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process.  Due to the large number of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.  December 14, 2024, 3:23 am

Story
Meet handome Ares! He is a very sweet boy who is looking for his perfect family! He is four and a half years old and is a pretty petite boy! He is a very goofy boy who gets cold very easily so he loves to wear sweaters! He is a very laidback pup who loves to nap on the couch all morning! He loves to watch the TV with you but hates any dogs on screen or anything that could possibly be a dog. Ares isn’t much into chew toys but loves a good treat! Bully sticks are his favorite! Ares is currently working through relearning his basic recall commands and building his confidence. He will need a patience and positive reinforcement to help in this process. He is crate trained but not comfortable to stay in for long periods of time, but is perfectly fine loose in the house alone and does well. He would have to meet a kitty before living with one. He was very curious with the one he met, so that would depend on the cat. Ares is barrier reactive so anyone walking by an outdoor fence or through a gate that he can see will trigger him. He will need some positive reinformcent and redirection with this behavior. Ares has grown up in a dog daycare and is perfectly fine in a group setting. One on one encounters will need to be taken slowly as he can get protective of his humans. He is not comfortable around cats or children and will need work in those areas to be able to settle down around them. He would do best in a house with older children. He loves to go for walks and would be the best adventure buddy! He will need continued confidence building and redirection at times with his leash manners.       The perfect forever home would be a home that his new family would continue and follow through with his training needs . He deserves the best new family, and his handsome face will melt your heart! He would do amazing in a home with another confident dog to show him around and make him more comfortable! He loves all of his All Paws retreat friends and family AND it would be amazing if his new family would continue to bring him. If you would like to meet this handsome boy, please apply to meet him at PetPromise.org
