Story
I found frosty at a kennel and instantly fell in love, after working with him everyday for a few months I finally took him home. I took him in as a foster, but overtime have realized he deserves someone who can spend more time with him and more time training him. He is four years old, and only knows a few basic tasks that I have taught him. He was found in California, locked in a backyard with his mother, he had no clue how to play with toys, play with other dogs, and never had a place he felt safe enough to relax. Over the last few months he’s been amazing with my dog and every dog he’s come into contact with, and has been good with people as long as he’s introduced right. He’s become very protect of me and my family and has issues with being alone with other people. I feel he would be a perfect “one person” dog, and amazing guard dog.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Bruhno Bruhno is still a work in progress.  Bruhno is a very shy English Mastiff.  He is learning to walk on a leash and ride in cars. Bruhno is good with other dogs and was raised with children.  It will be a while before we feel he is ready for adoption. His future "furever" family will need to be prepared for the long haul. Bruhno is terrified of new situations.  His main and immediate response is to immediately empty his bladder  Any adopters will have to be prepared for this.  He is house trained; this is a fear response. If you are interested in Bruhno or any of our fosters, please go to our website at www.mastiffrescueoregon.org, click on adoption info, and submit an application online. An application is required for any meet and greet. All of our fosters are in private homes.  Please be courteous, and do not call prior to 8:00am or after 8:00pm  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2024, 12:21 am

Thank you for your interest in one of our amazing dogs, please how our meet and greets work. We are by appointment only, all our meet and greets are outside on the same property as the shelter, under our covered, fenced area, so we must schedule appointments. If a dog is on our website, it is available for adoption. We do not schedule multiple meetings with different people for the dog on the same day. We do meet and greets Tuesday-Saturday, no night meets. We have questions at the bottom of each dog's bio, by answering the questions in your inquiry, you help move things along, it is okay if you do not, we will send an e-mail back to you with those questions. It does not matter if you are a homeowner or renter, but please check with your rental company for breed and weight restrictions. If this will be an ESA dog, get approval from your rental company first. Our dogs are listed on Petfinder (purchased by Purina), Adopt-a-pet and rescueme.org or you can e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org with questions about the dog, please be sure to say who you are asking about. Lastly, we do review all applicants, so if you are looking to get a dog today or in the next 24 hours, we may not be the right place, by taking a little more time and reviewing we have decreased our yearly dog returns to 1%. We get back to everyone as quickly as possible, sending multiple inquires or calling multiple times, will not change the process, if you don't get a reply e-mail within 72hrs, check your spam and junk folder, if there is nothing please e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org. Hello, I'm Gemma! I'm young and full of life, approx. 2yrs, spayed female. I can figure out puzzles and games in no time. I can be a bit goofy, but that's part of my charm. I take a bit to warm up, but have come so far over the last year. I am most comfortable with woman, it may take a few times for me to be comfortable with you, but once I am you will see why the shelter team loves me so much. I am the goofiest of goofy dogs, I am incredibly smart, I love to run our field and love toys, I am also protective, of my beloved humans, I listen well, and my recall is nearly 99%, I don't require a dog buddy, because you are my buddy. I would prefer a home with a large yard or acreage so I have something to do. My adoption fee is $200. Includes Spay, Microchip, Vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment and a 1lb bag of food. 1. What type of residence do you live in?? Home, condo, duplex? 2. Do you have a private fenced yard-not shared with another residence? 3. Do you have the time and patience to let her get comfortable in your home, learn your routine, take her for walks, play fetch? 4. How many hours will she be alone a day? 5. Have you ever owner a dog before, if so please tell us about them. 6. How many people and age groups in the home? 7. How many animals and types?

Meet Wheatland aka Wheatie, neutered male, Pitbull Mix, approx 3yrs old. Wheatland knows sit, stay, leave-it, down and drop it, he is learning how to walk on a leash without pulling. He likes most other dogs, we don't know about cats or small children. He loves to play fetch and get cuddles. He is a big boy at over 68 pounds, he would do best in a home that understands his size and breed. He is most responsive to men and is happy being an only dog. My adoption fee is $200: This includes neuter, vaccines, microchip, dewormer, flea treatment and a 1 pound bag of food they are currently on. 1. Do you own or rent? 2. Do you have a private fenced yard? 3. If you rent please check on breed and size restrictions before inquiring. 4. How many people and age groups live in your home? 5. How many animals, types and what they are like! 6. Do you have time to continue his leash manners? 7. Have you ever owned a large dog? 8. Please tell us what a typical day would be like!

Hi I am Max, I am 3yrs 7mth old, neutered male, German Shepard/Husky Mix. My old owner took wonderful care of me. . Max is a very sweet dog, he loves to play and run around our field, he would love to be the only animal in the house so he can get all the love. I love to go for walks and am a very good walking buddy, I know lots of commands and my recall is almost perfect. I do need a home with a large fenced yard or acreage, as that is what I am used too. Apartment or no yard life is not for me. My adoption fee is $225, includes vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment and 1pound bag of food. 1. Do you have a privately fenced yard? 2. How many humans and ages live in your home? 3. How many animals and types? 4. Do you have time for daily walks? 5. Have you ever owned a large breed dog? I am 97 pounds! 6. What would a typical day be like for me?

Hi there, I am Zero, I am a sweet energetic 1yr old, spayed female, Siberian Husky. What the shelter team knows about me: I am very sweet, I am high energy (of course I am a husky), I love routine, I love other dogs, I have been around children, I would love a home with another dog and if it could be a husky that would be even better. I cannot live with small animals or chickens. I am eager and easily trainable, I would love an active home, a hiking buddy or jogging buddy would be fabulous. My adoption fee is $250, includes spay, microchip, vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment and 1pound bag of food. 1. Do you have a privately fenced yard? 2. How many humans and ages live in your home? 3. How many animals and types? 4. Do you have time for daily walks or jogs? 5. Are you active, hiking etc? 6. Do you have the time for training? 7. Do you have the time to give her hugs and kisses? 8. Have you ever owned a Husky before, if so please tell us about them. 9. What would a typical Zero day be like?
