Story
This is a male dog named Bruno. He loves winter it is his favorite season he just loves to hop around and roll around in all the snow. But most of all he loves to be petted the more the better. After the lose of his best friend he became very territorial and needs more socializing as he has become weary of new people coming to the house. He will need some training be become more socialized but overall loves people and will follow you around were-ever you go. So you will have a friend by your side always Bruno need lots of attention he loves that. He is also very selective about the people he is around. But when he goes to the vet he is a good boy.

Story
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing Zella, a beautiful young pitbull mix born 2/15/24 - still technically a puppy, but housetrained and eager to please. She arrived at the shelter as a sheriff impound after having been abandoned by her owner, and is patiently waiting for a person who will love her forever. Zella has been in multiple dog playgroups at the shelter, and loves playing tug of war with her dog friends. She has some separation anxiety (all too common with abandoned dogs) and had to have a toenail removed after injury from climbing a fence to be near others. She reportedly shared her prior home with a cat, and did fine, but we have not yet cat tested at the shelter. We'll update when that has occurred. Zella knows sit, and comes to her name when called. She is great with her routine and knows right where her kennel is when coming in from outside. This sweet, loving 63-pound girl would be good in a home where she can be with her person most of the time and play with other dogs. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Zella is a suggested minimum of $125 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

Story
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing Shelby, a 41-pound mixed-breed black and white dog who looks like a Kelpie with a touch of border collie in the mix, arrived as a stray and was never claimed. She appears to be a juvenile, with an estimated date of birth of 5/15/24. Shelby is a sweet and playful girl who is energetic and eager to learn. Every day she works on commands with the staff and volunteers, and seems like she will be fun for her owner to train. She’s an active girl who loves to play with other dogs and is in multiple play groups. Shelby appears to be housetrained and has not had any accidents in her kennel. She’s vocal and will let you know when she needs to go outside. Shelby seems very interested in cats, wanting to chase them. She might do fine with a calm and confident dog-savvy cat, but we'd recommend very slow supervised introductions. As is common with juveniles, particularly those that have experienced being lost or abandoned, Shelby tends to jump up for attention; our volunteers have been working with her on this behavior and we have already noticed improvement. She would fit best in a home with lots of space to run and play with other dogs, and would enjoy an active family. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Shelby is a suggested minimum of $150 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! Story
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing Lexington, a gorgeous husky (about 2 1/2 years old) who arrived at the shelter back in May 2024 with a badly dislocated hip and pregnant. Thankfully, we had an open Special Needs Wing suite where she could live comfortably while waiting to give birth, without needing to climb into a kennel or deal with much walking to get out to her attached private yard. On July 15 2024, Lexington delivered 9 healthy, happy mixed breed babies. She faithfully cared for them until they were weaned, and the babies all found their forever homes. Then it was finally time to fix Lexington's hip! On Halloween, Lexi had FHO (femoral head [and neck] ostomy) surgery at a specialist in Spokane. Since having surgery, volunteers often snuggle up with Lexi on her big bed. She’s a favorite for sure! She pulls on a leash so we often use a harness when going for walks. She has blossomed into a playful, silly girl who shows her love to everyone at the shelter. You can’t help but give this beautiful 58-pound girl a smooch! She’s not good with cats and will chase them. Lexi has not yet been introduced to other dogs to play with as she’s still healing. She is housetrained and well mannered. The vet thinks she may have some residual lameness due to muscle atrophy, but should otherwise live a long and happy life. Lexi would love to have a securely fenced yard to give her the freedom to run and play without getting into trouble, as (typical for huskies) she is a runner. Please review the information on huskies if you are unfamiliar with the needs of this wonderful and challenging breed. https://www.aspcapetinsurance.com/resources/alaskan-huskies/ All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Lexington is a suggested minimum of $125 (more gratefully accepted).
