I AM IN FOSTER CARE! PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION. ONCE APPROVED, PLEASE EMAIL US (INFO@ANIMALHOUSESHELTER.COM) OR GIVE US A CALL AND WE CAN SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR YOU TO MEET ME! Born: December 26, 2021 I am 51lbs and I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $400 Meet Ralphie, a lovable Australian Shepherd searching for his forever home! Ralphie is house-trained and has the sweetest personality—he absolutely adores people and is a true snuggle bug. Currently in a foster home with kids, Ralphie does great with them. He also gets along well with other dogs and cats in his foster home. Ralphie is very smart—he knows the commands "sit" and "shake." Not very vocal, he only barks occasionally. He has Addison’s disease, which requires lifelong medication, but this doesn’t slow him down—he takes his meds like a champ! He would do best in a home with a family that is more often. Ralphie gets a little stressed when no one is home. Ralphie is looking for a loving home that will care for him as much as he will love you. Could you be the one to give him the forever family he deserves? Story
Axel is fostered in Pekin, IL.   Axel and his brother (Clutch) found themselves homeless after their owner passed.  Axel is a 45 lb blue merle male Australian Shepherd.  We're guessing him to be roughly 8-11 years young and you definitely wouldn't know it by his actions. Both boys are super active and wonderful dogs for (what we were told were) their ages.   Axel is very sweet and super eager to please.  Axel LOVES attention. Axel has done well with his crate - going in easily and quickly, settling down, and no whining.  He has great house manners and likely does not even need to be crated.  He and his foster dad have crashed on the couch together a few times and he’s still right there when I wake up in the middle of the night…no accidents or destruction. Axel has an occassional spurt of excitement with the cat, where he either completely ignores or goes into herding mode, so a dog-savvy cat would be recommended.  His ideal home would have a physically fenced yard.  Axel has done well with grooming - brushing, nail trims, bathing, etc.  Axel also enjoys riding in the car, walks well on a leash and is overall, a pretty happy boy.  Axel is starting to show an interest in fetch and frisbee.  He has done well socializing with people, teenagers and other dogs of all sizes.   Axel is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2250501##

Story
Cactus is fostered in Garden City, MO.  This spirited 2-year-old foster pup is bursting with personality and ready to bring joy to your home! Cactus is the ultimate playmate, always eager to chase a ball and engage in a fun game of fetch. When the playtime winds down, you’ll find him snuggling at the end of your bed, keeping you company as he dreams of his next adventure.  Cactus came to us after being dumped at a home with another dog.  Cactus had a terrible coat and was missing patches of fur.  He has been seen and medically cleared.  With good food and love of his foster parents, he has blossomed into a beautiful gorgeous red tri boy.   Not only is Cactus a fantastic companion, but he’s also your very own doorbell—he’ll let you know when visitors arrive! He gets along wonderfully with both cats and other dogs, proving he’s a social butterfly. With a heart full of love for toys and a food motivation that will make training a breeze, Cactus is sure to win you over with his adorable wiggle butt!  Cactus does prefer to have another dog in the home as he is still building confidence, and he would ideally love someone that is home more often than not - maybe someone who works from home part-time.   Already kennel and house trained, this delightful pup is ready to find his forever home and bring a spring in your step. Don’t miss out on the chance to welcome Cactus into your life!  Please visit our website to find out more about our adoption process and submit an adoption application for this handsome redhead.   Cactus is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. Story
Alfie is being fostered in Cincinnati OH Meet Alfie!  Alfie is a blue merle male, standard Australian Shepherd, who is just over a year old and currently weighs approximately 35lbs.  We imagine Alfie will stay on the smaller side even at his full weight, possibly gettin to 45 lbs at max.  Alfie is a typical aussie that LOVES to go for walks, play with sqeaky toys, and play with his foster sibling that is the same age and size.  Once a good play session is over, he will curl up next to his foster momma.  He definitely has a nice off switch.   Alfie would do best with some that is experienced with the herding breed, and has some prior dog handling experience.  He was was WAY to much dog for his prior owner and because of this, he came to us with some undesired behavioral traits which his foster mom has been working on.  She has solicited help of a trainer and he has responded remarkably well.  When arriving in rescue, he had no manners or self control.  He has learned SO MUCH and with his foster mom's help, he is doing amazing at leash walking, not barking at things that frighten him and getting used to lots of different stimuli.  Given this information, Alfie will do best with a home that would continue the training he has been doing, even working with his foster mom on what this looks like.  This is a MUST for his forever home.  We recommend a home with children over 12 years of age.  Off leash, Alfie enjoys meeting and greeting people and other dogs. On leash, Alfie can become unsure of himself so this is an area he will continue to work on.  Alfie enjoys playing with other dogs, so a playful dog and a physically fenced yard would be ideal for Alfie.  If you are looking for a devoted companion, who will curl up with you, go on long walks, runs, or maybe agility, this is your boy!!! Alfie is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, negative for tick borne diseases, microchipped and taking monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.
