From his foster: Meet Casanova, better known as “Nova” or “Nuggie” because he was just a little nugget when we got him! Nova arrived in MN from Arkansas on 2/15 with his 8 siblings. He is about 13 weeks old and 9 pounds. He is listed as an Australian Shepherd mix, but while he definitely has Aussie legs and markings, now that his ears are up, we really feel like he might have more German Shepherd in him. The one thing we’re certain of – he’s adorable and a funny little guy! He’s also really smart and treat motivated. Nova is definitely all puppy right now but will also be a higher-energy dog who would likely love an active family. Daily walks and activities to keep his body and mind busy will be important. While he can be a little timid at first, he’ll be marching around like he owns the house in no time at all. He LOVES playing with other dogs so would very much benefit from a playmate who can keep up with his energy. He wears out both of our resident Boston Terriers on a daily basis. He is also your typical biting puppy. Hands and ankles are the most fun toys ever and while he can become hyper-focused on them, he will eventually redirect to a fun toy. Someone who understands he is a puppy and will outgrow this phase will be important! When he’s tired, he trades those bites for kisses and cuddles - he’s such a sweet cuddler! He also LOVES having his belly scratched. He is currently doing well sleeping in a bed in his crate at night. He’s still young and can’t hold his bladder all night so we have a small fenced area with pee pads he uses at night so he can relieve himself and go back to sleep. He uses this same area during the day if we have to leave. He came to MN during the extreme cold so we started training him on pee pads. He will go potty outside but not as consistently as the pee pads just yet. We’re working on it! He does cry a little when we leave him but he quiets down quickly. He loves his people and wants to be close to you so he will likely be your shadow. He often sleeps by our feet when working from home or follows us around the house so he knows where we are. They don’t come much cuter than this little guy!

He loves to play with stuffed animals and his tennis balls. He likes to play with his brother as well. He is very curious about his surroundings and loves to explore. He has been around other dogs, cats and kids and he does well. He sleeps in his kennel pretty well, he cries for a minute but then calms down. In the morning he can't wait to get out, give kisses and see what's new. He's such a happy fun loving pup.

Hi, my name is Loverboy I am from Arkansas. From his foster: Loverboy is a sweet and very playful little puppy. He goes all day non stop. He lives with my 2 resident Shih Tzus and easily tires them out. He is very good on a leash and loves to stop and smell everything and absolutely loves to chase leaves or anything else blowing around outside. He does a great job going into his kennel at night and makes it all through the night without a mess and is very content in there. He does whine a little if we put him in his kennel in the daytime but quickly settles in. We never leave him in there for more than an hour or two in the daytime. He is working on potty training and is doing pretty good if he does go inside it is usually on a pee pad. He still needs a bit of socialization he can be timid at first with strangers. He does great in the car. He is very treat motivated and eager to learn and is very smart but very busy!! This will be a higher energy dog and need higher energy people. He would absolutely love a buddy to play with another dog that still had good energy would be ideal. He is a puppy so I would imagine he would like cats but would not be the kind of dog to leave them alone he would want to play. He is very sweet and loves people once comfortable but is still learning to use his mouth softly so older considerate kids would be optimal. He is not a barker but is vocal and loud when he does say as he is playing or hurt he can be very loud and dramatic lol. He is a great pup really ready to learn but is still working on his manners and is a very busy boy. A home where he is not left alone for long periods of time and shared walls may be a problem if he does play loud etc. A home with another pet that wants to be left alone would not be a good fit. He would like a buddy to play with he does go non stop all day
