I am a very handsome young adult male Mini Aussiedoodle who doesn’t like a lot of commotion, but I love to cuddle, and I prefer women. Truth is, I am highly sensitive and reactive to ‘stranger danger’! That’s right, I react to people approaching the front door, coming into the house, and even people approaching my kennel. I know…it’s not something I’m proud of but I’m working on it…really, I am!! In fact, foster mom is trying to help me associate new people (strangers) with positive outcomes and I am confident that I will be successful in time but for now it is still a work in progress. In the meantime, mom sometimes puts a muzzle on me and although it doesn’t bother me at all I prefer, of course, not to wear it so my new family will need to commit to working with me on training. Muzzle training may make me look scary, but it allows me to safely meet and work on my training so I can be happy!  After all, consistency, patience, loving encouragement, and LOTS of mental and physical stimulation are the keys to my success!!! I am good with older kids, cats, and other dogs; and my favorite activities include going on my daily leashed walks or car rides; hiking; exploring; eating treats like plain Greek yogurt or pumpkin; playing with small squeaky toys and other dogs; chewing on Benebones; and running zoomies in the yard so the yard at my new home will need to be fenced! Hee, hee!! I also hope to have a small, confident doggie companion who might help me overcome some of my anxiety about strangers!!! By the way, I almost forgot to mention that I am a prodigy…no, really! I know everything from how to do my business outside to a deluge of commands like “sit”, “down”, “come”, “kennel/crate”, “wait”, “leave it”, “outside”, and “go potty”!! Thankfully, I enjoy learning, especially when I have a strong, confident, respectful leader, and I really love pleasing my people!! Anyway, foster mom says that I am the “most affectionate” dog she’s ever met and as hard as I try, I simply cannot disagree with her! Hee, hee!! All I need in my life now is YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving forever family who will not only NEVER give up on me but will commit to helping me overcome my fears!! I'm Kiwi, the pint-sized dynamo with a heart full of love and a zest for life. Let me give you the lowdown on the awesomeness that is me: Picture this – shades of brown and cream, one ear perpetually popped up, and eyes that tell stories – one blue and one brown. Yep, that's me, a young Mini Aussie turning heads wherever I go! Now, here's the thing – they say I'm a bit hard of hearing, but I've got my own language. I have a slight hearing loss due to being born with hydrocephalus.  We think I can hear deeper sounds, but not higher pitches. Silent hand claps for applause (and belly rubs, of course), gentle taps on the ribs for attention, and some cool hand signals like thumbs up for SIT and a wave for "come on down." I'm mastering the art of communication!  I am sometimes a bit unsteady on my feet and circle around when stimulated - that's some of my hydrocephalus showing.  But, there are no long term needs known at this time.  I might have some uniqueness, but it makes me special! Life's a classroom, and I'm here to soak it all in. I do require a fenced yard in my forever home AND need to be leashed in the yard until I understand when my people want me to come inside. My people said when we go on walks, it is best for me to be double leashed as I am skittish and a flight risk. She says “Safety First” before we go outside. When I meet new people, I am a little nervous and need some time to warm up. There are so many new things to see and sniff, I get a little overwhelmed. I am always excited to go home play with my toys. I have Crocky, Bunny, Mousey, Ropey and Bully – I like toys that are tuff so I can chew and chase with them. We recently started playing frisbee – I understand the chase part and we are working on the return part – hee hee! Hopefully my forever family will keep practicing with me. My people said that I am growing and learning so much – they are calling them “light bulb moments” because you can actually see it when I am excited and understand something new. They said I would be a good candidate to try out agility, fly ball or rat hunting because I am a high energy dog with an active mind. Did I mention my love for food? It's basically everything, and I'm open to culinary adventures! Except chicken, that sometime gives me tummy rumbles – ick. Also, sometimes I get crabby if there is another dog around at mealtime, I would suggest that meals are served in a kennel. My people have a puzzle food toy that I LOVE, foster mom says it is a great way to help me slow down and focus at mealtimes. We are also working on kennel training. So far, I prefer a wire kennel over a plastic kennel. And foster mom has been letting me sleep in the bed. Although I tend to get into things so she keeps me on a leash, even during sleepy time! Again, safety first! Potty training is a work in progress, my people said I am a whirling dervish when nature calls – hee hee. I definitely have a “signal” if you are paying attention! Typical of my breed, I would thrive in a home that will keep my mind and body active, give me a job and keep me busy. I think obedience school or agility training would be a fantastic way to bond and learn new things. My people said that I am very smart and started counter surfing and exploring into things I shouldn’t, kinda like a toddler (hee hee) so they provide supervision and things for me to do. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    I’m new to this whole family atmosphere thing.  I’m still learning about all the things.  When I am not in my safe place (which may take me a little bit in my forever home) I am nervous and skittish.  But once I learn it’s a safe zone, I relax and let me sweet and loving nature come out. I’m still working hard at potty training, leash walking and the kennel.  I can tell you that I am NOT a kennel fan.  I’ll let you know all about it so probably best not to have shared walls.  I also need a fenced yard because I haven’t spent a lot of energy learning about leashes.  And I like playing with the resident dog.  Well, one of them because the senior dog here isn’t into playing.  I do need another dog in my forever home so I can learn to trust, get on a routine and a confident one to show me the ropes and play with.. I like playing with toys and stuffed animals when not playing with the other dog here.  There is even a cat who isn’t fond of me chasing it, but I think a dog savvy cat and a set of eyes on me, we could be friends. My name is Star, and I am a retired mama learning all things dog! Although my past is not fully known, we are focusing on my future and learning new experiences. I have two awesome dog foster siblings, and really need a dog in my future home to help me be confident! I absolutely LOVE every dog I have met. From puppies to older dogs, they make me feel safe and happy. I enjoy snoozing with them in the living room or playing inside and outside. I have two foster kitty siblings also that I basically ignore! Being more nervous, I would not do well around young kids, but I met 2 older more respectful kids in the neighborhood and did fine! My foster family is slowly introducing me to new things, and I have learned a lot so far. Being outside on sunny days with my foster dog siblings is my favorite! I love to run around, eat grass, roll in the grass, and just take it all in. The leash is still scary to me so having a fenced in backyard is required for me to thrive! I am a very sweet girl that wants to be loved, but I need some time to know that I am safe. To help me thrive, my ideal family would allow me some space in my new environment to warm up to them and their routine. Dog safe human food is a great way for me to feel the love and comfort! I love when my foster mom lays with me on the ground! It helps me feel comfortable and that is when I allow all the love and pets. I even fall asleep with her petting me! I have met multiple other dogs and humans. I am learning that others can be safe and do take treats from the new humans I meet. If everyone is in the living room, I will be hanging out with them, but in my own area. I have accepted pets from new people but at my own pace! As a Mini Aussie, I love to follow my people around just to make sure I know where they are and what they are doing, but I am fine if left at home with my doggie friends too. My name is Finley, and I’m a 3-year-old Mini Australian Shepherd. I weigh about 55 pounds, but I'm working on shedding a few of those pounds with consistent exercise and a healthy diet. At home, I’m a total lovebug. I adore attention and love to cuddle and give kisses. But don't worry, I can also lay down by myself and enjoy some alone time when I need it. As I'm breaking out of my shell, you’ll see more of my fun-loving and playful side. I love running around, shaking toys, and chasing the resident dog a bit in the backyard, though I let her take the lead. One of my favorite activities is going on walks. I get so excited and even do a cute little dance! Walks are not just great for my weight management but also help me release my energy. I love to stop and sniff everything, and I’m very curious about my surroundings. When I see other dogs or people, I like to pause and observe them. However, I can be a bit anxious and take some time to adjust to new environments. Loud noises and overwhelming commotion startle me, but I warm up quickly to new people, especially if they sit down or get on my level. My favorite things to do are going for walks and playing with any kind of toy. I’m potty trained and only go outside. I’m also crate trained and like to go in there when I want some alone time. I’m fine in the kennel when you leave, but I don’t like being locked in at bedtime. I sleep in there part of the night with the door open. I don’t need a fenced yard because I walk nicely on a leash for potty breaks and exercise. I do tend to pull a bit on the leash, but I’m learning to get better at that. I know several commands like Sit, Come, Kennel/Crate, and Shake. I don’t necessarily need to be in a home with another dog, but I do enjoy their company. I like human company a lot too. I’m pretty sure I lived with a cat before, so I’d likely be fine with one. I do have some prey drive, but would likely be fine with a dog savvy cat. I am a bit overweight, so I need someone committed to regular exercise and a healthy diet to help me stay fit and healthy. I have a lot of excitement and could benefit from working on some impulse control. An obedience class or even an agility class once I’m at a better weight would be fantastic for me. I’m looking for a loving home that can give me the attention, exercise, and training I need. I'm Marzipan, a 4-year-old Mini Aussie Doodle weighing in at 11 pounds. I'm a very sweet girl, though I can be a little nervous around new people. But don’t worry, if you take things slowly with me, I’ll warm up to you in no time. Once I feel comfortable, I’ll nudge your hand for pets, and I promise I’m worth the wait! I absolutely love being outside, running in the grass, and exploring. There’s something about the fresh air and open space that makes me so happy. However, I also enjoy a good nap on the couch, especially when I can curl up next to my favorite human. Toys and treats are new to me, and I’m just starting to notice toys but haven’t quite figured out how to play with them yet. Soft treats, on the other hand, are my favorite—I’ll gobble them up if you put them in front of me! I do have a few fears, like loud noises and overwhelming commotion. With time and patience, I believe I can get used to these things. I’m good with children, as long as they’re respectful of my space. I’m doing great with potty training and use both a potty pad and go outside. When my humans are gone, I stay in an x-pen, and bark for a while so it would be best if my forever home didn’t have shared walls. Sometimes, I might bark at night when I'm alone in my x-pen, but it’s not very often. I’ve met dogs of all sizes and get along well with them, though I might feel a bit overwhelmed by dogs with a lot of energy. If there’s another calm dog in the house, I think I could learn a lot from them. Another dog is required in my forever home. While I’m very shy right now, I’m making progress and learning to be brave. I’m super sweet and love being near my human. I’ll curl up on the couch or bed right next to you and nap. Hello, my name is Kaylee! I'm a MINI Aussie Shepherd mix, weighing only 30 lbs. I'm 1.5 years old but wise beyond my years.....eh, year. I was previously with a family that did not have time for me and kept me crated a lot. I do well with not going potty in my crate, but I can be a little whiney when in there. I'm just sick of that life! I'd rather be exploring or getting cuddles. I can be a little anxious at first, and may be more outgoing in a home without so many dogs (6-7 in foster home). I'm just very gentle, not pushy, and will quietly wait my turn for love. I do great with the other dogs though! We love to play and wrestle all over the house. I am great on a leash and do well in the car also. I would love a family to build my confidence and show me the world.

Odin is a 9-year old Aussie mix who's owner died. From his foster: Looking for a sweet, friendly, silly, senior? Odin loves people and is great with dogs! He enjoys being active whether it's walks (although is a puller and we are working on that) or the dog park. His favorite is going to run around his foster granddads 42 acres!!! But Odin doesn't run off and comes when called! What a good boy Odin is a quiet boy, rarely makes a peep, not even when those darn delivery folks come to the door! He is completely potty trained, does great in a kennel but doesn't need one. He is currently not kenneled and does not get into anything. He has shown absolutely zero aggression or resource guarding with my dog nor any he has met. He's just a lovely good boy. Odin was born with a short lower jaw, although this does not hinder his eating or drinking. He often has his tongue out to the side and will dribble water a bit more than most dogs. He does great with his dry or canned food on a plate. Odin would do great in just about any household as he is a pretty easygoing guy but would do best with regular exercise. He is afraid of the vacuum but so far that's it. Does great in the car, good for baths, nail trims, and no fear of storms. From the Vet: Hi! My name is Odin and I would love to share some medical information we have learned from my history as well as my first exam at The Bond Between Vet Center! My jaw appears to have been congenital, but it is not at this time causing me any issues with my teeth! I do have history of seizures, however I have not had any episodes during the time I have been with my foster so the vet said I don't need any meds! While it is unlikely at this stage, my future adopter should monitor for any seizure activity and seek guidance with a primary vet thereafter. Hope to meet you soon and settle into my fur-ever home!
