Apply on our website ( https://www.healingheartsrescue.org/adopt )  to  set up a private meeting or check below for my adoption event schedule. Age: Approximately 5 years old Weight: 50 lbs Dog friendly: Yes, has some resource guarding of her humans Cat friendly: No Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: Yes, good on a schedule Crate trained: Yes, does well in a crate or left loose in the house   Meet Cindy, the beautiful lady. My foster family calls me Cindy or Sweetie because of what a sweetheart I am. I immediately warm up to new people that I meet. I will go outside and play with my humans and other dogs, or I will sit and cuddle up next to them on the couch. I am such a lover and I can hangout with people all day. Since I was a reservation dog, I now enjoy being inside with everyone. I would do well in a house with other dogs or with only people! Either one works for me. I love being with my toddler, foster human, and sometimes I like to follow him around on his adventures. I can be left out in the house during the day while my people are at work, but I also do well being crated if need be. Now that I have been shown love, I have started to show a little bit of resource guarding. I love my dog foster siblings and enjoy playing with them, but sometimes I get a little protective of my people and food. I do best eating in a separate location from my doggy friends. We are currently working on resource guarding and are showing a lot of progress with patience and positive reinforcement. I can’t wait to meet my forever family so I can show them all the love that I have to give.   Adoption Fee: $495Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.INTERESTED IN MEETING ME? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $350 plus taxPeggy Lee is a smart and spirited mix of shepherd/herding and working breeds, and judgingsolely by some of her entertaining vocalizations, sea lion and Tasmanian devil. She seems to be always thinking and noticing. She takes time to warm up to people, but onceshe does, she cannot get enough belly rubs and snuggles. Until she feels comfortable, she will“alert bark” at strangers and does not want to be approached, unless it is on her terms. But… beready for a complete 180. Displaying kindness and patience in the first few weeks will pay off ina lifetime of affection and adoration from this lovable girl. Before you know it, you will have asnuggle buddy and loving companion. She has begun occasionally letting a gentle stranger pether, but it takes calm encouragement from the person she trusts. With consistency and support, she should greatly improve in this area. She went from being fearful of foster mom’s boyfriend towanting belly rubs from him, within a few visits. She loves car rides, naps in the yard, trips to thedog park, walks, and any other adventures. She would probably be a happy boating dog. Shemay also enjoy agility or another active sport.Peggy Lee is crate trained! After a few mournful moments as foster mom leaves for work, shesettles down in the crate, much easier than when she’s left loose in the house. She willvoluntarily choose to hang out in her crate even with the door wide open. But she wants to benear her people and part of the family.Peggy Lee has so much affection to give. She wants nothing more than to love and be loved. She is easy to train, when done in a loving way. Peggy learned sit, lay down, and “paw” (toshake) in just a few days. When I tell her she’s a good girl, her tail just thumps on the floor inpure happiness. She entertains herself with chew toys and loves a good squeaker. As a strongand athletic dog, she benefits from an opportunity to run and play every day. Don’t miss thevideo of her zoomies with the frisbee.Peggy Lee sleeps soundly at night in her dog bed on the floor, although she would be happy bewith her human in the bed as well. She needs the company of another confident and interactivedog in her home. She looks to the other dog for cues for just about everything. She will gleefullyengage in play with her doggy sibling. She is overly obsessed with cats, and very vocal about it,so she needs a cat-free home. She will keep all squirrels, cats, and birds out of your yard. Shewill also let you know if she sees a cat out the window.Peggy Lee really is a special kind of dog who is just what someone out there is seeking. Hi everyone! My name is Alexis but my foster family calls me Lexi. I’m about a 5 1/2 year old mini Aussie with a heart of gold. I can be very shy when I first meet you but will warm up quickly. I'm unsure of my foster dogs and ignores the cats completely. I am potty trained and will go to the door or pace when i need to go out. I only had one accident but my foster mom thinks it’s because I was so scared. I love being outside. I have a fenced in yard so haven’t had much experience on a leash yet. I greet people when they come to visit and love the compliments and pets i get. Unsure of how she’d handle children. I haven’t been around little kids but I don’t like loud noises so I don’t think I’d do very good. I’m a snuggle bug and will give kisses, if you ask. I will go into my kennel but I prefer to be where my people are. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, dental, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi, I’m Moose! I’m a herding breed mix of some kind born 10/7/23!  My siblings and I just moved to Minnesota from Lake Traverse, MI!  I am very energetic and always looking to play!  I’m friendly with everyone; adults, kids, dogs, cats.  Any person I meet immediately becomes my best friend!  I bark sometimes when other dogs are playing rambunctiously or when I get scared.  I like to make my foster mom laugh by talking back to her when she tells me to be quiet.  I typically prefer to be cuddled up with my people.  I am still learning how to go potty outside and do well on a schedule.  I sleep in my crate, and I am quiet at night.  I’ve mastered leash walking but want to sniff EVERYTHING on my walks.  If you’re interested in meeting me, let me know!  I’d love to meet you!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Little Miss Molly is a super sweet Aussie who was born 7/23/23. She came from a dirty, neglectful situation causing her to lose some hair on her face and legs from itching. She's getting healthy and happy and will soon be all fluffy and look adorable with a black and white face! Molly has some separation anxiety but sleeps all night in her kennel but only if able to see you, or she will bark and cry. During the day she does not do well for long in her kennel, but instead loves to curl up on her own bed napping or quietly playing with toys in her foster mom's office while she works. Her favorite time of the day is when the kids (4 & 6) are home from school. She loves to lick their faces and wants to play, but gets a little nippy trying to get attention, but not painfully and does well with correction so she's learning fast. Molly is food motivated and will sit for a treat and will take it so politely. She loves belly rubs and getting her fluffy fur stroked while laying next to you on the couch. She is still a puppy so loves chewing on toys or things the kids leave on the floor, but always gracefully gives them back when taken away. Molly is mostly potty trained with some minor accidents as she learns to tell us. She does well on a leash but loves being in the backyard, watching the birds, squirrels, and bunnies. She is learning to come when called if treats are involved! Molly does well with other dogs but loves to be around everyone in the family. She's a lovable puppy ready to meet her forever family!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. She needs one in her forever home Cat friendly: Yes with dog savvy cats Kid friendly: Older kids only Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes when she can see other dogs **Needs another confident dog and physically fenced yard**  Addie is the sweetest little girl you’ll ever meet! She is nervous about new people at first, but will warm up after she realizes she's home and safe. She is such a little love bug who wants to cuddle and get pets. She happily lounges on the couch in the evening, getting snuggles. She needs another dog in the home to teach her how to be confident. She absolutely LOVES her doggo foster brother and playing with him, so another dog that wants to play is a must, as she needs that kind of relationship to blossom. She would cuddle up with her cat foster sister all of the time, so as long as the cat can handle her bursts of energy, she's a doll with them! Because of her fears, she needs a securely fenced yard to live her happiest life, and you'll see a different side of her when she's outside playing! She is potty trained and does well in a kennel for a full workday when you're gone. She's the easiest little girl because of her sweet demeanor and smartness. She keeps herself busy with toys during the day, so she'd be a great companion for anyone who works from home but is not required!  Once she's comfortable with you, we think she would be really great at agility or other training, too, so feel free to put her border collie abilities to the test! She gets really scared by sudden, loud noises and fast movements, so Addie would do best in a home without little kids. Other than that, she just wants all the love she can get from her people, dogs, and cats!  Adoption Fee: $595Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.INTERESTED IN MEETING ME? My name is Sir Nyx-A-Lot. I am a sweet, smiley, handsome boy who had a very rough first five years. Living in a home with people is a new experience for me but I am learning and have come a very long way in a short amount of time!   I am very shy around people, especially new people but that said, I don’t have a mean bone in my body. I greet my foster family with a big goofy growl like smile when they come home. They adore it! I really LOVE other dogs. In fact, I need a home with a confident dog to help me learn how to live the good life. I like to play with them and follow their lead. When they go to a human, I often follow to get a pet as well.   My foster family has been taking me on walks where I am gaining confidence. I very much enjoy walks and my foster mama says I'm a really good walker!   I sleep great in my crate or left out and I am potty trained.   I am looking for that amazing forever home with a confident pup and a fenced yard so I can continue growing my confidence and living my best life!   Adoption Fee:$325  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.INTERESTED IN MEETING ME? Your experience may differ.   ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: Wellness check Spay/neuter (puppies adopted with required spay/neuter certificate) Age appropriate vaccines - rabies and distemper combo  Heartworm test if over 7 months of age Fecal test and/or deworming for parasites Microchip &#226&#128&#139 ~ Healing Hearts rescue will also provide dental procedures, bloodwork, surgeries, and/or any other additional vet work as needed while dogs are in our care. &#226&#128&#139~ Adoption fees are non-negotiable and fees are listed on the dog's profile ~ Adoption fees can be paid the following ways with the required sales tax added: Credit Card via Zeffy Cash WANT TO HELP SAVE MORE DOGS?   Healing Hearts Rescue is a nonprofit, foster-based rescue  located in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota  that  is 100% funded through adoption fees and donations .  We are excited for you to join us on this mission to save the lives of dogs in need.   We believe every dog deserves to be loved as true members of a family and are committed to fulfilling that dream one dog at a time!
