Story
Animal Profile:   Buddy is a 4.5-year-old Doodle, 1/2 Border Collie 1/2 Standard Poodle. He was purchased from a breeder prior to his owners having children. Buddy is a friendly, but slightly anxious guy who has not adjusted well to having a toddler in the home. His family invested in a 4 week board and train with a local dog trainer in hopes that it would help Buddy feel more comfortable around small toddlers. Buddy completed his training; he has excellent house and leash manners, is house trained, crate trained; and knows the ‘place’ command. Unfortunately he was still too uncomfortable around the kids after training, and his family decided it was best to find him a new home. Buddy has been trained using balanced methods, including e collar for off leash reliability. Buddy does great at doggy daycare, but does have some resource guarding around food and select toys when it comes to other dogs. While he enjoys his dog friends, we think he’d be happiest as an only dog. Buddy has not lived with cats. Buddy is currently in foster care with his day care owners, and doing well there. Foster Update: coming soon! Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $550 which includes his neuter, core vaccinations,  DPPV, Bordetella, microchip, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application  April 17, 2025, 7:19 pm

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: You have to meet Danny Boy to truly appreciate his charm — his big head, beautiful eyes, and kind soul will win you over in an instant. This 2-year-old Border Collie/Lab mix was an owner surrender and is now looking for a loving forever home. Danny Boy is a sweet, energetic boy who loves to be with his people and will make a loyal companion to an active family. Whether you're into walking, running, or outdoor adventures, he's ready to go! He walks well on a leash, is housetrained, knows basic obedience commands, and takes treats gently, displaying his well-mannered nature. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would love a canine friend to play with. Danny Boy needs a home where someone is around most of the time or can take him along when they go out, as he experiences some anxiety when left alone. He just wants to be with you! We all know that labrador retrievers are love bugs, but did you know that Border Collies are astonishingly bright – in fact, they have one of the highest IQs among dogs? They’re also great protectors and are very loyal to his family. Danny Boy would be an excellent candidate for swimming, playing games (fetch, tug-of-war, hide & seek) or agility training. When he’s bored, he can be a bit of an escape artist, so a securely fenced yard is a must. Ideal for a quiet suburban or rural neighborhood, Danny Boy would do best in a cat-free home. Come meet Danny Boy and see for yourself — his big heart and loving energy are such a gift! Danny Boy is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED It’s Zorro! He is a 10-month-old, 38lb border collie/husky mix came to us from CA in hopes of finding a better home here in WA! Zorro is one spunky dude! He is very much still a puppy and has puppy energy, so he will require an active home that will provide him with the physical and mental stimulation he needs to continue forming into his best dog. He has done well with other dogs in our care and would be a great additional dog to a home. He would also do fine as an only dog with continued socialization. Zorro is very sweet and loving, but just needs work on managing his energy. He does focus well when you need him to and is very receptive to training. Zorro is also very treat motivated! This handsome boy with stunning blue eyes is ready to be someone’s lifelong loyal companion! Zorro is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Ralphie! He is a 4.5-year-old, 50lb, Border Collie/Pittie mix. This boy is just a hunk of love and look at that adorable smile!. He is sweet, fun loving and a playful boy! He would love his forever home to be an active family who would take him for walks and on adventures. Ralphie will thrive in a home that can continue basic obedience with him. Ralphie can do well with other dogs, and we will want to meet the other dogs in his forever home to make sure it’s a great fit! We do not think he would do well with a dominant male, but neutral dogs 35lbs and up ok! Ralphie can be a bit of an escape artist so he will need a free-standing home with a securely fenced yard in suburban or rural neighborhood. Ralphie is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Wrigley! Wrigley is a 3-year-old, 33 lb Border Collie who is looking for a forever home to call his own. Wrigley is a sweet and spirited guy who is ready to find his forever home where he can run, play, and show off his smarts. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, energetic dog who’ll keep you active and entertained, Wrigley might be the perfect match. Wrigley is looking for an active family who can match his enthusiasm. Wrigley loves to jump, bounce, and play, and would thrive in a home where he gets lots of exercise and mental stimulation. Though he’s still working on his basic obedience, Wrigley is a quick learner thanks to his Border Collie intelligence. He is eager to please and would make an excellent agility or sports dog with the right training and guidance. His energy and enthusiasm will always keep you entertained! Wrigley loves meeting other dogs and seems to get along with them just fine, making him a great companion for another active dog. However, due to his bouncy nature, he’s not the best fit for a home with young children. He may be a bit too excitable for little ones. Wrigley is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Merlin - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Looking for a new FBF (furry best friend)? Look no further than Merlin (hey, hey, that's me!) and I'm here looking to adopt me a family, a home...one I can say will be all mine! And since you're reading this, I'm hoping that you'll consider making ME a part of yours!!!! I got my name cuz I'm pretty good at magic. I magically appeared in my foster mom's fenced yard and they are still trying to figure that one out. I can also magically fit myself into my favoritest bed from when I was smaller. I'm now ready to start on this new chapter of my life with lots of hugs, puppy kisses and playtime with my new family!!! I'm around 9 months old and I come in at about 30lbs, which should put me at a fantastic size when I get myself all growed up, although I shouldn't get a whole lot bigger(35-40lbs). I love playing and am energetic, ready to share in all your adventures from the mundane daily to your weekend exciting!! I love people both tall and small, love playing with the other pups here at my foster home but I haven't had the pleasure of meeting any of those strange creatures y'all call a cat yet. I have that innocent spirit that loves living life to the fullest, that energy that loves exploring the world around me and that playful demeanor that finds joy in everything!! I am one smart cookie (yes, my foster momma tells me so!) as I'm already house and crate trained and I know how to use the doggie door. That lets us get right to all that fun stuff...right away. I've got a beautiful coat that is pretty easy in the maintenance department, kind of a wash-n-go type of fella. You do know what that means, don't ya? Yep yep, more time for the spoil me rotten department!! I am sooooo ready to unleash all this awesomeness on a family and be that lil heartbeat at your feet, so if you think I'd be a pawsome fit for your home, please stop scrolling and fill out my adoption application! It can be found at haydudeequine.org With lots of sincere tail wags and puppy kisses, Merlin💗💗

Story
Peppermint is an adorable and sweet pup who is about to be 3 months old. She is friendly and loves everyone. Great with people, dogs, and we predict cats too if she grows up with one. This pup and siblings were abandoned on a rural road outside Austin, Texas, likely left in a box found nearby. In freezing, wet conditions, they were at serious risk, especially Apollo, who was found in the middle of the road. Two good Samaritans rescued the litter, with one taking two puppies and the other taking three. While we couldn’t secure the first two, we were able to bring Apollo, Star, and Peppermint into rescue care. Thanks to Apollo’s presence in the road, the entire litter was noticed—ultimately saving their lives. They will soon have all their shots and be spayed/neutered and ready to go! We can drive this pup to your area! If you like this cutie and you're in driving distance to Niagara, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Brattleboro, Secaucus, or Hartford, please send us an inquiry here and we'll give you a call and video chat with the pup! Here's the link: www.friendsfurliferescue.org/adoption-application Please copy/paste the above link into your browser ^ Our transport can take this pup to any of the above locations. (YES we also adopt to Canada! Please note: adoption fee is in US dollars. Due to the pups young age, you'll have to pick up the pup in the US.) There is NO transport fee, or any extra fees. All is included in the adoption fee. Thank you! We're looking forward to your inquiry!

Story
Animal Profile: Russel is a 8.5 week old Terrier X puppy who joined us with his 3 siblings on 12/16/2024 via our TX partner Saving Shelter Strays. The puppies, along with mom, were living under an abandoned trailer and were picked by our rescue partner Saving Shelter Strays. They are currently in a foster home waiting for their freedom ride to the PNW to find their forever homes.  Foster Update:  Baby Russell is a chaotic good boi. A natural comedian, he does everything--from playing to cuddling to sleeping--with unbridled enthusiasm. Russell has abundant energy, loves fetch and toys, and is looking for a home with at least one other playful dog and a large, fenced yard. We expect him to be quite a big, strong boy when fully grown, so a dog-savvy home who can teach him good ways to channel is energy is ideal.  Good with dogs, cats, horses, and people, Russell can initially be shy with new friends but warms up and absolutely adores his people and fur siblings. He has striking eyes and markings and the softest, smooshy face. His antics make us laugh every day. Russell is crate-trained, knows basic commands, and would excel at dog sports. Due to breed and size, we are not considering apartments.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred from our partner in Texas Saving Shelter Strays and arriving on 12/16/2024 to the Seattle area.
