She is currently in a home with a 10&7 year old, however, because of her high energy, she likely should not be in a home with children. She has no aggression issues when it comes to food, or toys. Skye is an awesome shepherd mix who arrived at the shelter late November 2024 from a neglectful situation. Despite her history, her sleek black coat is gleaming. And she has cute tan paws. This beautiful, athletic girl is going to be a fantastic companion for some lucky family. She loves people! She's highly intelligent and playful! We think she'll do great with both adults and older kids. She hasn't been at the shelter long enough for us to know if she likes other dogs and cats. Skye is 5 years old and currently underweight. We're trying to fatten her up just enough to keep her healthy. She loves to run and play and to give and get affection. She is smart and quick to learn. Walking, jogging, hiking, playing ball . . . do you need a buddy to keep you company while enjoying activities like these? Then you can curl up together and take it easy. Skye will do well with a single person or a family ready to give her love, exercise, and consistency. A fenced-in yard would be great, but she'll do alright with plenty of leash walks. Hi!! I'm Cedar, and all I want from life is to play ball and cuddle my humans. I play hard and I love hard, and I'm whip smart to boot! I love going on car rides, especially if they end in a hike, and I'm eager to please, especially when there is a treat at the end of it. Cedar is a 5 year old mix, and has been with me since he was 8 weeks old. He is good with kids and great with dogs once he gets to know them. He is high energy and needs plenty of exercise, and he can't possibly play enough ball in his lifetime. He's very smart and knows lots of commands, and learns new things very quickly! He's fiercely loyal to his humans, and has a heart full of love to give. Anytime he isn't playing he can be found in my lap or cuddled next to me on the couch. And be prepared to be woken up with aggressive kissing in the morning! Unfortunately my husband lost his job and I'm in school and can no longer afford Cedar's care. It breaks my heart to post him here but I can't let him starve.
