Story
PLEASE READ BELOW FOR OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION LINK NORTH NEW JERSEY Harvey is the sweetest little black with white Pekingese boy. He is 13 pounds and probably around 8 years old. He is extremely affectionate with his humans and will stare into your eyes so you know he loves you! He is a fun little guy and loves chasing a tossed toy and playing with the other pups in his foster home. Harvey lived with Teddy (also available, see pic above) and they can go home together or individually. Harvey is very well behaved and a super chill little guy. He LOVES sitting outside in any weather. Even in the rain! He would love a nice grassy area to hang out in and a fenced yard would be even better so he can meander around as he likes. He can be an only dog since his humans are his priority but he can live with other small breed pups (and other Pekes of course). He LOVES running around the yard with his foster siblings. Extensive vetting has been done and he is in excellent health. PLEASE READ BELOW FOR OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION LINK NORTH NEW JERSEY Teddy is the sweetest little cream and tan Pekingese boy. He is 13 pounds and probably around 8 years old. He is extremely affectionate with his humans and loves to give you kisses! He is a super chill guy that loves to lounge around and sun himself by the window. Teddy lived with Harvey (also available, see pic above) and they can go home together or individually. Teddy is pretty low key and just does his own thing most of the day. He does get excited and does a little happy dance when he comes back into the house after roaming around the yard. He can be an only dog since his humans are his priority but he can live with other small breed pups (and other Pekes of course). He loves going for walks or would love a fenced in yard to meander around. Tweenagers and up please. Extensive vetting has been done and he is in excellent health. He does have dry eyes and very early glaucoma so he is on eye drops for both. He also arrived at the shelter with horrible ear infections that we have been treating. Due to the lack of care of his eyes and ears, his vision and hearing are not perfect but he gets around just fine and they seem to be improving now that he is getting what he needs medically. Story
PLEASE READ BELOW FOR OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION LINK MEET SPAULDING the PEKINGESE!!! North New Jersey Spaulding is a 2 year old, 18 lb. male black and white parti CKC Registered Pekingese with the coolest tail that flips black-white from side to side! This little guy is SUPER sweet and he LOVES being with his people and giving hugs and kissies. He is VERY playful with toys and other pups. He can be rambunctious and would do well with a furry playmate of equal size and strength. He is a very good listener and knows some commands. He is housebroken and looks to his person for guidance. He knows the routine in the home well. He was bought as a puppy into a home with three young children. Unfortunately, now that he is bigger he does not appreciate being man-handled by small kids and he has bite history with the kids in the home (not his fault!). Thus, Spaulding needs a kid-free home (no young kids living or visiting--teenagers and up ok) where he can continue to thrive. In his foster home he has been the sweetest most well-behaved little guy. He was wonderful at the groomer and at the vet. He loves everyone he meets and promptly jumps in your lap and gives kissies. Spaulding has been brought UTD, neutered, chipped, dewormed, he is HW and Lyme negative, had allergy testing, and is housebroken. He also knows how to use potty pads if they are available. He is allergic to chicken and doing well on a lamb-based kibble. He will go home with a bag of his kibble. Given his high energy level, a fenced in yard is required as is another fur sibling he can romp with. He really enjoys playing and hanging out with his fur friends and does well having another doggie friend (or more) to hang out with. He happens to do extremely well with Bodie who is also for adoption. Breed experience is preferred and will be prioritized (or similar brachycephalic breeds). Adoption donation is $550. TO BE CONSIDERED, PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION We only process complete applications and providing false information immediately disqualifies you from adopting. https://gingerbreaddogs.org/adopt-overview/adoption-application/ Please follow our Facebook page to see new dogs as they arrive and to keep up on the daily shenanigans: https://www.facebook.com/gingerbreaddogs ABOUT OUR PROCESS: WE ONLY CONTACT APPLICANTS WITH WHOM WE WANT TO MOVE FORWARD. Story
PLEASE READ BELOW FOR OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION LINK MEET PETE the PEEKAPOM North New Jersey This adorable little boy with the cutest little toopheses you've ever seen is a black with white mask and toes, male Pekingese – Pomeranian mix (PeekaPom), 13 lbs., and around 6-7 years old. He is a FUN and FUNNY little guy. He LOVES to play with toys, dogs, you, whatever, he's not fussy. He tosses his toy around in the air and then jumps to catch it himself! He will chase a tossed ball for as long as you'll throw it. And he will entertain himself in general sniffing around, chewing on a nylabone, or taking naps in the sun. He is a VERY affectionate little guy and has done well learning boundaries while here. He is now quite independent and has learned the routine. In fact, sometimes his foster mom has to drag him out of the bedroom to come outside with the others! He sleeps on a doggie bed next to his foster mom’s bed at night but would definitely LOVE to sleep in bed with his person. He snuggles on the couch while watching tv, etc. He has a blast playing with the other pups in his foster home so would be nice for him to have another fur friend to play with but it is not necessary as long as he has a human around for most of the day. He is more of the submissive type and is afraid of alpha bullies. So no mean doggies in his new home! He is also afraid of small children so tweenagers and up please. His xrays were normal, blood work was good, and physical exam perfect! Thus, he made his way into surgery for a dental and to get his cherry eye removed. He was extremely well behaved at the vet and groomer. He will need eye drops for dry eye and eye pressure for life. He is UTD, HW negative, neutered, dewormed, dental, housebroken, and full of love. Adoption donation is $450. Meet Russ, a charming canine on a quest to find his FUR-ever home. Discovered at a park in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Russ's story unfolds with a tale of abandonment, evident in his longing gaze. Despite being left behind a month ago from when we found him, Russ carries himself with the grace of a once-loved companion. At around 3 years old and a sturdy 30 pounds, Russ is a picture of canine elegance, displaying the distinctive traits of a brown Carolina Dog mix. His manners are impeccable – he's mastered the art of leash walking and delights in staying close to his human companions. Russ is not just a pretty face; he's a well-rounded pup. Neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and heartworm negative, he's in tip-top health and ready to bring joy to a loving family. His good-natured spirit extends to children and other dogs, making him a versatile addition to any household. With a love for the great outdoors, Russ dreams of a big yard or even a farm to explore and call his own. If you're seeking a loyal companion to share your adventures, consider making Russ a part of your family. Adopt Russ, and let the journey of unconditional love and companionship begin – because every dog deserves a FUR-ever home. Satos (pronounced with a short A) are a type of dog rather then a breed.  The name is Puerto Rican slang for “street dog,” but they are also known as Puerto Rican Found Dogs in the U.S. They are the homeless dogs, or urban free-ranging dogs, that live in Puerto Rican cities. Satos are small to medium dogs, usually not more than 35-40lbs. They have large ears that flop, long snouts and legs that seem just a tiny bit too short for their bodies. Their fur varies from a short thick coat to longer, feathery details on the tail and ears. They come in every color imaginable.  July 12, 2024, 8:30 pm
