Story
Roland was surrendered when his owners decided they did not want a dog anymore. He has not adapted well to the changes in his young life and will guard his home, his person and his food so he will not "lose" them again. Roland needs someone who is an experienced, strong handler who is willing to work with him to overcome his anxieties. He does seem to form bonds with women faster than men. A quieter home with low traffic and no children would suit him best. Roland has so much potential to be a wonderful pet in the right home. Roland is only about 3-4 years old and 41 pounds. Please help this beagle boy find the loving home that he deserves. We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821). Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes. If you are interested in adopting, we encourage you to please submit an application on our website today so that we can try and process and pre-approve any potential adopters prior to our next adoption event. PLEASE USE THIS LINK TO SUBMIT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. WE ONLY ACCEPT ADOPTION APPLICATIONS THROUGH OUR WEBSITE. ANY OTHERS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED. Application link here: http://www.oscaranimalrescue.org/oscar-1-application.html Adoption Process: 1.Fill out an application 2.Meet & Greet 3.Adoption contract & adoption fee Roland's adoption fee is $100. Story
Scrunchie is a good girl. She is very affectionate and playful. Scrunch will sit on command for a treat, adores peanut butter and walks well on a leash. Scrunch is is still abit confused right now being left here at the shelter but coming out of her shell and becoming happier with each passing day. She was surrendered when she and the resident dog stopped getting along. When Scrunch was a puppy, all was well but a year later is when the issues started with being possessive over food/treats/toys and because of this she needs a home without other dogs. At just over a year old, Scrunchie still plays like a puppy - it can a bit rough and tumble so she would do best in a home with Kids 12+ where she wouldn't accidentally knock them over. She does not mind cats once she knows they are there. Scrunch is about 1 - 2 years old and 50 pounds. Please help our girl Scrunch find the loving home she deserves. We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821). Story
Dajon and his 5 siblings are the product of two buddies thinking they were going to make money breeding Belgian Malinois. Mom decided the neighbor boxer mix boy was much more interesting then an arranged match. Dajon is very smart, super social and playful. He is good with other dogs but will chase a cat. His foster Mom says: "He is completely potty and crate trained. He knows sit, down and is working on stay." Dajon is about 9 months old and 36 pounds. Story
Brody and his siblings were another product of an owner not fixing their dogs. He was one of the first in his litter to be adopted however he was returned due to the husband's allergies that they did not know about since Brody was his first dog. The family said Brody is an awesome, sweet boy who got along with "every dog that ever lived, he is amazing". He is friendly with people, got along with their kids but was too playful for their cat. Brody is food motivated and was learning basic commands and potty training while he was with with his former family and we are confident that his new family should easily be able to continue his training. Brody is about 10 months old and 46 pounds. Please help Brody find the loving home he deserves. ***You must provide a vet reference for a current or past pet you have/had.*** We do NOT ship our animals.
