Story
Born 11/30/2020 in Mayfield NY. Would do great in a home with other dogs or kids where there is lots of activity or if he has a job to do. Is crate trained but rarely locked in. Could use refinement with walking on a leash but has a gentle personality, knows most basic commands like sit, stay, leave it, look at me, and done. LOVES to play with his rope toy and people!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.MAGGIE HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING.  WE, THEREFORE, WILL NOT BE PROCESSING ANY OTHER APPLICATIONS FOR HER.Meet baby doll Maggie!!! Sweet Maggie came from rough circumstances – living alone in a small outdoor pen… But, WOW, she has absolutely flourished in her foster home where she is being shown lots of love and learning how to be a member of a family.  Maggie is super sweet, dog friendly and loves her snuggle time.  Her fur foster sister is also helping her understand how to do zoomies and play.  Each day there is just a little more fun in Maggie's world.  Maggie’s energy level varies from napping, to bursts of play and then snuggles. As Maggie continues to develop and feel secure in her world, we may see a little more aussie energy – for now, she is the perfect mix of snuggle time and play time.  Because her start to life was not the best – being left by herself outside in a confined space- there are still things she will need help understanding. But quiet coaching and guidance are all she needs.  If you have a couch, love, and a fur sibling and have fallen for Maggie, we would love to see your application. Our best assessment (NO GUARANTEE) is that Maggie is 2-3 years old and an Aussie/Colie/Retriever mix (currently 30lbs).  She is spayed, heartworm negative, up-to-date on core vaccines, and current on her flea/tick and HW prevention.   ____________________________________________________________________ **If you are interested, YOU NEED TO APPLY.  Also, a follow-up email to info@safeatlast.net is strongly recommended. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.TIPPY HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING (SUBJECT TO A MEET & GREET)!!  WE, THEREFORE, WILL NOT BE PROCESSING ANY OTHER APPLICATIONS FOR HIM AT THIS TIME.Meet Tippy!! How absolutely handsome is this boy?  Well, he is a love too and has that flat coat personality. Going outside??  Tippy want out!   Going inside??  So is Tippy!!  He wants to be with his people!!  In terms of energy level, Tippy is very active. He uses the entire back yard to run and play, and we are seeking a home where he will have a fenced in yard, as he loves romping so much.  While he loves to be out and about running and playing, if you call him, he’ll come back for some love and 'atta  boys.' In addition to his access to a yard all day, he also loves to hike, and, so, we are seeking an active family for him.  Tippy’s humans and his canine friends are important to him, and he solicits affection from both, snuggling until he gets too warm.  If Tippy sounds like the perfect match for you and your fur family, then please get that completed application to us! Our best assessment (NO GUARANTEE) is that Tippy is approximately 2 years old and a flat-coated Retriever/Aussie-short tail mix.  Tippy is neutered, up-to-date on core vaccines, and current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.  ____________________________________________________________________ **If you are interested, YOU NEED TO APPLY.  Also, a follow-up email to info@safeatlast.net is strongly recommended. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet little Koko!Best guess, NO GUARANTEE, is that Koko is a Chihuahua mix, with what we're not sure, Dachshund? Shih Tzu? Spaniel?  She is about 10lbs, and our best assessment (NO GUARANTEE) is that she is 2-3 years old.Is Koko sweet as chocolate? Well, yes. Is Koko beautiful? Well, yes. Is Koko still a little unsure of what a loving home and her own humans are? Well, yes. Is Koko worth the patience love and celebrating every little milestone? Her foster mom says absolutely!! Koko is the tiniest of our rescues from a backyard breeder/hoarder situation. She had always shared a small muddy kennel with larger dogs and had very little human contact/touch.  So, yes, she is unsure but wants so desperately to be like her foster fur siblings.  She wiggles and smiles and comes close, and when she finally does experience some love, she leans in. She just needs time, love, patience and reassurance.  The one thing she is completely comfortable with is being her canine foster sister's bestie.  She adores having someone to play and nap with, and they are the cutest little lady pals  - we think Koko will do best in a home with another adjusted canine companion as she does lean in to more human time when she sees the others enjoying their belly rubs. She crates when asked, including for her breakfast and dinner. She has the cutest little bow beg she does for her treats when she is a good girl. And foster mime says she is a good girl a lot.  Potty training is almost perfect as long as you watch her signals, and she keeps her crate clean.  She truly is going to be the cutest little love bug when she settles in. Please fill out our online adoption application if you are interested in her. Koko is spayed, up-to-date on core vaccines, dewormed, current on flea preventative, and can be microchipped! ____________________________________________________________________**If you are interested, YOU NEED TO APPLY.  Also, a follow-up email to info@safeatlast.net is strongly recommended. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.NORMAN HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING!!  WE, THEREFORE, WILL NOT BE PROCESSING ANY OTHER APPLICATIONS FOR HIM.Meet little Norman - Our best assessment (NO GUARANTEE) is that Norman is currently about 4 months old and appears to primarily be an Aussie mix.So how did Stormin' Norman get that crazy name you ask?  Well, he was picked up from a local shelter in an unlikely NC snow storm. When we got the call that an underweight and unsocial pup was found in the woods cold and wet, we were on the way and loaded him in to a warm car.  First on the agenda was a bath.  He was unsure but enjoyed the warm water and being clean, always watching foster mom and complying.  Days 1-5 were just getting to know each other.  Mom would sit with him and talk and each day get a little closer and a give a few more loves. Day 6, snow again and this time he felt good.  He knew he was going to be let in to a warm house with snacks and dinner, and, boy, did he open up. We saw the little play bows, dodging and that Aussie butt wiggle.  Some things are hard to forget though. At the end of the day, he found a spot in a pile of leaves and laid down to sleep. But, with just a nudge, he happily headed in with the pack. So far, he can entertain himself or play with his foster siblings. He is smart, learned his name and crates when asked.  He has met the dog walker and does well once he is confident they are friends.  He is a work in progress but doing great.  Stay tuned for updates on Norman or apply if you see the little gem we do. He is up-to-date on core vaccines, dewormed, current on flea preventative, and can be microchipped! ____________________________________________________________________**If you are interested, YOU NEED TO APPLY.  Also, a follow-up email to info@safeatlast.net is strongly recommended. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.AUSTIN SHORTLY WILL BE GOING INTO A FOSTER-TO-ADOPT SITUATION.  WE WILL BE GIVING HIM AND HIS FOSTER FAMILY SOME TIME TO SEE IF HE IS A GOOD FIT WITH THE SENIOR DOG IN THE HOME.  WE, THEREFORE, WILL NOT BE PROCESSING ANY APPLICATIONS FOR HIM AT THIS TIME.Meet Austin!  Our best assessment (NO GUARANTEE) is that Austin is a mini Aussie mix & about 8 months old.  He currently weighs around 25 lbs.Austin was a pulled from a breeder/hoarder situation. Held in a pen with all of his siblings, he came to the fence and gently kissed the coordinator's hand.  Well, she went to walk away, and he held her hand in his little paws. That was all it took, and he became one if the most special little boys in our rescue.  From transporting to multiple stops to settling in and a bath, he was nothing but sweet - always compliant and grateful. He plays nicely with his canine foster sibling and chases her in the yard. When play is done, there are always snuggles to be had.  Toys and balls are new to him and he is no retriever, but he sure does love to play with them.  While human affection is new to him too, he really wants to experience it. He becomes more comfortable with it every day.  If you are looking for that love story, please fill out the application for Austin.  He is neutered, up-to-date on core vaccines, dewormed, current on flea preventative, and can be microchipped! ____________________________________________________________________**If you are interested, YOU NEED TO APPLY.  Also, a follow-up email to info@safeatlast.net is strongly recommended.
