Story
Lucy is the sweetest girl! She will snuggle you as long as you let her. She needs to run, and get her energy out. She is crate trained, and absolutely wonderful with children. Unfortunately our family dynamic has changed due to a divorce and being a single parent I cannot give this sweet dog the time and attention she needs. She will be due for a rabies shot. Her flea treatment is good until December. Please reach out with any questions.

Story
Sweetness got her name because when she loves you she loves you with her whole heart. When I hold her she presses into me and looks up with so much love. She was rescued, along with two others, by SusieQ from a hoarding case. All three dogs from there are not dog friendly but love their people which makes me think she had to fight for everything she got. When Sweetness was rescued she was bone thin, missing most of her fur and had a damaged, infected eye. Since then she has been fully vetted, spayed and had her eye removed. I love this dog so much and only want the best for her. I would keep her for my own but with all the dogs coming and going she is getting more and more stressed. She is afraid of my husband so I think she would make a wonderful ladies companion. Sweetness uses puppy pads but will also go out with me in the fenced in yard to go potty. I have not tried leash walking her. She had a dental last week so her teeth are bright and shiny. She loves to sleep in bed with me and cuddle under the covers. With a little patience and love you will have a life long companion. Her adoption fee is $250. Please go to the website to fill out an application if you are interested in meeting her. www.susieqdogresq.com

Story
Buddy is the sweetest boy. He is an (estimated) 6 year old Lab mix. He is the happiest when he is with you and will follow you anywhere. He is hoping his new home will let him sleep with them and promises not to take up to much room!!! All he wants is love. He weighs 60 pounds even though he looks much bigger and one of his eyes is half brown and half blue. Buddy loves kids, is great with all the dogs here and is very interested in the cats, so probably a home with no feline friends. He does the cutest little tap dance while he is waiting for his food!! He will lay by your feet and be a loyal companion. His adoption fee is $250 and he has been neutered and fully vetted. Please go to the website and fill out an application if you are interested in meeting him. www.susieqdogresq.com

Story
I acquired Charlie & Bruce from a rescue place in Rochester, NY when they were 2 months old. They came to our house to bring happiness, love and companionship to my boys and my family. They are brothers and have never been separated from each other. They born on 05/18/2018 and they are very sweet, obedient, trained and loves people and other animals. I have a cat and I also had a bunny that grown up with them. Because of my husband work, we a out of the country We travel a lot, and I couldn't have time for them, and we cannot take them with us. We are heartbroken, but we expect to find a new family that can give them the love and care my family has being given to them until now. We would like to find a someone that accept both, because they are best friends and love to play together. We are willing to deliver them, and send any additional information needed.

Story
Frankie was recently rescued from a NY Shelter where he was picked up as a stray. No one claimed him so DCAR was happy to bring him into our rescue. He was very matted when he was found and had to be shaved down. Frankie listens well, comes when he is called, loves to chase balls and curl up on your lap. He’s a sweet, cuddle bug. He is also doing great on house training. Frankie has settled in well at his foster home but he has developed house guarding issues. He does not like strangers coming into his space. He barks loudly and aggressively in an effort to scare people away. He recently saw a behaviorist for an evaluation and we will be working on correcting this behavior. He will need an adopter who is willing to continue his training and help him feel less anxious. Frankie would be great as an only dog but is good with other dogs too. Frankie's perfect home is a house that does not get a lot of visitors and no small children. Fence preferred but all applications will be considered. This dog is currently being fostered in Rochester, NY and cannot travel prior to adoption. Meet and greets available in the surrounding area only. Visitors welcome. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW! We currently adopt in the states of NY, NJ, Eastern PA, DE, and some areas in MD. We can not accept applications from other states at this time. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our adoption application which you can find on our website at www.dutchcountryanimalrescue.org/adopt.html Our adoption fees are on our application. All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies and DHPP, heartworm tested, treated for worms and fleas and most are microchipped. We are not a shelter, we are 100% volunteer public charity. All of our dogs are in foster homes until they are adopted. Since we are not a shelter, we do not receive government funding. We take each rescue personally and spend a lot of effort trying to match the right dog to the right family. Thank you for considering one of our rescued dogs.
