Story
Meet CHIPI – The Sweetest Gentleman! Chipi has recently arrived from the sunny streets of Mexico, rescued by a compassionate woman who dedicates her life to helping animals in need. At 10 years young, this charming poodle mix is living proof that age is just a number! Chipi is healthy, full of life, and has a delightful dash of spunk to match his gentle soul. His foster dad proudly says he’s such a good boy! Since arriving in Canada, Chipi has settled in beautifully and continues to impress with his calm and loving demeanor. He is house-trained and has adjusted well to his new environment, including the chilly weather. Chipi sleeps soundly through the night and enjoys being petted—especially tummy rubs. He’s happiest when curled up on a warm lap, soaking in all the love he can get. Chipi is a friendly and affectionate dog with a calm, quiet nature. He’s incredibly gentle, even when taking treats, and handled his vet visit like a pro. He enjoys a laid-back lifestyle and has low energy, making him an ideal match for a relaxed household. While he hasn’t been on many car rides yet, he’s done well so far, and he’s also comfortable on a leash. This sweet gentleman has shown he can be left alone without issue and doesn’t bark excessively. He loves spending his time watching the world go by from a cozy window seat and exploring his surroundings. Chipi especially enjoys having access to a secure, fenced yard where he can stretch his legs and have a little fun outdoors. Chipi would make the perfect companion for a retired person or couple looking for a loyal and loving friend. He’s ready to spend his golden years in comfort and luxury, bringing endless joy and affection to his forever family. Are you the one to make Chipi’s dreams come true? Apply now through Just Paws and welcome this sweet gentleman into your heart and home. Foster Location: Scarborough Continued to stay tuned for more updates as we get to know this incredible dog! Chipi is being fostered in Scarborough. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Thank you for your interest in Hubert. He is such a fun loving, energetic, happy, barky boy. He loves people and dogs and life. Some of it he loves a little too much. Well, not too much for him but too much for other dogs. But he is really just a softee who wants to run and play and be chased. Running, bouncing, barking, playing, snuggling, hugging, what could be better?

Story
Oh, Boomer, you are a love and a frustration all rolled into one beautiful package. Boomer was sold to a family with young children during Covid and that meant he had a lot of people home all the time and didn't get much of the socialization he should have received. He did get a lot of company at home though! Unfortunately the young boy in the family fell ill, they needed to move and were unable to bring Boomer with them. That's how he came into our care. We've been taking out time getting to know him because as much as he is a lovely boy, he has his struggles too.

Story
Sahara / 3 yo / Female / Mixed Breed / 21 kg, 46 lbs / Rescued from Hamilton / Currently fostered in Toronto Good with kids / No cats / House trained Food allergies and ear injury for which she is receiving treatment / potential heart murmur Meet Sahara – the playful princess with a cheeky streak, ready to charm her way into your heart and home!! Sahara is a bundle of joy who brings a smile to everyone she meets. She’s super affectionate and adores playtime, whether it’s chasing golf balls, playing fetch in the most acrobatic manner, or entertaining herself by tossing her favourite rope toy in the air. Smart and treat-motivated, Sahara is a quick learner who loves showing off her tricks. She scored 95% on obedience, except for an occasional distraction – but that’s just part of her charm! This princess is an instant bestie to women and children, and she’s learning to trust men who take the time to earn her affection - actually, a royal bow from men will help obtain her approval. She’s curious and cautious with other dogs but has yet to explore many doggy playdates. Gentle introductions will help her make some canine friends. Squirrels and cats, however, aren’t her cup of tea. She’s an avid explorer, and might need some guidance on leash manners during walks as she can get overly excited. At home, Sahara is well-behaved and has shown no destructive tendencies—though tissue paper might tempt her from time to time! She rarely barks, or sheds, and is a great listener. She’s comfortable in her crate when her humans are nearby but feels anxious when left alone. That said, she’s done well with free roam of the house without any mischief. Sahara would thrive in a loving home with plenty of space for zoomies and a family that will continue to help her grow into the queen she was always meant to be. She’s gentle with children and would enjoy a household where she’s included in the fun and adventure. Ready to make Sahara the queen of your castle? Apply today to meet this extraordinary girl at www.caninehaven.org/dog-application and let Sahara’s playful spirit light up your life! Story
Toffee / Male / 1 year 8 months / Mixed Breed / 40lbs / Fostered in Guelph Good with other dogs / House trained Looking to sweeten up your life? Then Toffee is the pup for you! Like a kid in a candy store, Toffee’s happy-go-lucky, bubbly personality, along with his adorable mop-top, will surely put a smile on your face! Toffee is a total lover boy and wants to be next to you so he can feel secure and show you how much he loves you too! He’s not just a pretty face - this clever boy loves to work his brain with puzzle toys and learning new commands!  Outside, Toffee loves to do zoomies, sniff, and go for walks around the neighbourhood. He can be excitable on leash, wanting to get towards other dogs and people, but is working on walking more calmly. Inside at home, Toffee likes to chill out by chewing on his bone, playing with squeaky toys (showing no mercy!) and snuggling up with you. He can be hesitant around new people and will sometimes bark, but once we warms up to them he’s their new BFF! Toffee likes to play with other dogs and lives with a canine sibling, and gets along well. Older children would be best with Toffee as sometimes he can be quite rambunctious!Toffee can become anxious when left home alone, and sometimes has accidents and can get into mischief. He would benefit from his new family using a crate and other training and supports to help him be calm and learn to enjoy his solo time. After being surrendered by his previous family due to no fault of his own, Toffee just needs someone to put in the love and effort to help him be the best dog he can be! He is a delightful and goofy companion who will give you nothing but love in return! Can you be Toffee’s perfect forever family? Apply today at www.caninehaven.org/dog-application. Story
Elena / Female / 3years / Mixed Breed / 16lbs / Fostered in Oshawa / Originally from Barbados Good with dogs and kids / House and crate trained Currently being treated with drops for a minor eye infection Affectionately known as Ellie, this sweet, playful, inquisitive pup can’t wait to find her very own family! Ellie is a perfect mix of energetic and chill. After playtime, Ellie loves to watch the world go by through the front window or go for a snooze. Ellie is a big fan of cuddles and would be more than happy to snuggle up next to you on a cold winter’s day! Ellie may bark once or twice when meeting new people, but quickly learns to love them once she gets some treats and ear rubs from her new friends. Sometimes she gets so excited greeting people she forgets to keep all four paws on the ground! Ellie loves the finer things in life - like getting a paw-dicure (nails trimmed), having her chauffeur (you) drive her around town, and cuddling up in her heated blanket. Ever curious and even a little mischievous, this goofy girl may find a nice soft slipper or kleenexes to chew on or a tasty treat to sample if it’s not out of reach. But, with some simple redirection, she’s just as happy gnawing on her chewstick, and crated while home alone, where she settles quickly. Outside on walks, Ellie is still a little fearful of the big wide world. She’s very excited for walks and would love your encouragement to help her be brave. She loves to bound around in the backyard, chasing balls and doing zoomies! If her new home has a backyard, it should be fully secured so she can’t squeeze through any gaps in a fence and go for an unplanned solo adventure. She likes to playfully chase the resident cat around so would likely be best in a cat-free forever home. She’d love a playful doggy sibling to help show her the ropes but would also be happy as a solo dog. Ellie hasn’t spent much time with kids in Canada but given her loving personality she’d likely be happy with dog-savvy kid siblings. Little Ellie has such a big heart and spunky personality - you won’t be able to help but smile when she looks up at you with those perfect puppy dog eyes. Give her the life she deserves and apply to adopt her today at www.caninehaven.org/dog-application.
