Story
Thank you for your interest in Kelly. Surrendered into our care from a shelter in QC. You see, Kelly came into the shelter and they could tell she was sweet but possibly had something wrong with her eyes. Dogs with medical concerns are often euthanized due to lack of funds so the shelter reached out to us. Could SPIN help? YES!!!!! Send her immediately. Our wonderful volunteers, tired and worn out from all the dogs in need, lept into action and Kelly was welcomed with open arms!

Story
Arrow / 11mo / Male / Mixed breed / 25kg - 55lbs / Rescued from Tennessee / Currently fostered in Kitchener Good with dogs and kids / House training in progress No major medical concerns Hi! My name is Arrow and I am eagerly awaiting my chance to propel my new family’s life forward. Just like my name indicates, I’m always moving onto the next great thing and never spend time dwelling on the past. As a young pup, I am still full of energy and love to spend my time running around the yard, or enthusiastically tearing apart my next stuffy. Although I am still working on house training, my foster family says that I am a very well behaved boy who is very eager to please. Honestly- if it involves treats, toys or lots of pets, I always try my hardest to oblige. It can just take my super active puppy brain a few tries to get things right. I love hanging out on my bed or blanket with a chew to relax. It can take me a little bit to get used to meeting new people, but as soon as I realize they’re all just coming to meet me and show me love, I settle in for some treats and belly rubs in no time. I am okay with being left alone, in or out of my crate, however I always prefer to spend my time either playing with or curled up next to my people. As I continue to adjust to the busy bustle of life outside of a shelter, walking on a leash is taking a lot of getting used to for me. I have never lived in a busy city until now, so I would really prefer to live in a nice quiet neighbourhood, with some backyard space to help me get used to my new surroundings. As long as I have lots of love, patience and encouragement, I’m sure I will eventually be the bestest behaved boy, happily bouncing along on leash right beside you. I’d absolutely love to go to a home with a human sibling. Looking out for the kiddos feels like my calling, and I am such a good and patient boy with kids of all ages. As long as I get to spend some time hanging out with neighbourhood kids, or nieces and nephews or grandkids though, I’m sure I will be super happy no matter where I end up. Do you have space in your heart to give me the good life? Apply today at caninehaven.org/dog-application/ Neutered / Microchipped / Vaccinations up-to-date

Story
ARTHUR / 2yrs 8mths / Male / 84lbs ; 38kgs / Rescued from the Hamilton Humane Society / Fostered in Niagara Good with other dogs and kids / Untested with cats / House and crate trained Hi there, I’m Arthur - a goofy, sweet, loving pup who was found as a stray. I can’t believe someone didn’t want me - I mean, have they seen my dazzling smile? Maybe you can be the one to show me what love really means and be my new BFF! Call me lover boy, because boy do I love to soak up all the attention I can from you (ear and belly rubs galore)! If you’re busy I also like to relax and just do my own thing. I keep myself busy by showing my stuffies who’s boss and turning them inside out! Treats are of course a favourite of mine (great for training) and you’ll see my ears perk up with joy whenever I smell something tasty. Meeting new friends is lots of fun for me. I thrive in the presence of other friendly dogs - I’m an expert at reading other dogs’ body language and am a fantastic play pal! In my new home, I would do well as a solo pup, or with a canine sibling to play with and learn from. I’m super gentle with kids too. I love exploring and can get so excited on walks that I pull on my leash - but I’m a smart boy and am learning my manners. While I’ve learned to settle on my own, I may still make some noise at first in my crate since I’m not fully used to being alone yet (but having another dog nearby calms me). I’m such a good boy and am just looking for someone to love me as much as I know I’ll love them! Story
Daisy / 11 Months / Female / Mastiff-Rotti Mix / 27 kgs - 56 lbs / Currently fostered in Ajax  Good with dogs/kids | Little interaction with cats | House and crate-trained  Meet Daisy, an irresistibly cute puppy with a pair of mesmerizing puppy dog eyes. She's a people-loving pooch who can't contain her excitement when visitors come over. She greets them with her signature happy dance, eagerly waiting for hugs and kisses. Daisy is a friendly girl and makes sure to get pets and love from everyone in the room. This playful pup has a unique personality and an abundance of love to give.  Daisy's favorite game is sniffing out hidden treats, and she enjoys de-stuffing teddies to keep herself entertained as well as throwing pieces of wood or rocks, or pine cones in the air in the backyard and bounding after them. Spending time with her humans is the highlight of her day. She likes to watch her humans cook hoping to get some of the food.  She would love to run and play in a backyard, preferably with a furry or human sibling, and she loves nothing more than cuddling up with them on the couch during movie nights (if allowed, also has no problem laying by your feet and will keep your feet warm). She'll even try to sneak into their bed if no one is watching, but she listens when asked to get down, she knows to 'sit' and 'come' when told.  Daisy is usually calm and relaxed, but sometimes she gets the zoomies, when she is affectionately called 'Crazy Daisy'! Thankfully, she is usually very gentle and caring of her surroundings, although sometimes can be a bit of a 'bull in a china shop' when playing with her foster brothers. Daisy is afraid of loud cars and traffic, but she'll learn to feel safe with time and reassurance from a loving owner. She also may bark at larger dogs on walks, but is getting more comfortable as time goes on. Daisy and a neighbourhood cat once calmly walked up to each other (on a walk) and rubbed faces together, which was really adorable!  Fortunately, she's very food and treat-motivated, making her a quick study when it comes to training. Daisy's ideal home would include another pup to show her the ropes of life and preferably a home in a quieter area. This sweet puppy is ready to love and just wants to be by your side forever! Apply today to adopt her! https://caninehaven.org/dog-application/  Spayed / Microchipped / Vaccinations up to date

Story
CYRUS / 2 yrs 8mths / Male / 39lbs ; 18kg / Mixed Breed / Originally from Tennessee / Fostered in Guelph Good with dogs and respectful children / Untested with cats / House and crate trained To see more of Cyrus’s adventures, check him out at instagram.com/fostrandmy3amigos Cheese! I bet you clicked on my profile because of my dazzling smile, right? Well I’m not just a pretty face, I’m the total package of a sweet, loving, adventure pal looking for my perfect person! Gee, I hope that’s you! I started my life out down south in Tennessee where some people weren’t too kind to me. But since coming up to Canada I’ve shed so many of my fears and now love to greet each new day (and new person) with a joyful heart and a wagging tail. I think I’m the perfect mix of chill and fun - I live with some canine siblings and love to run around the backyard with them, playing tug, and being on squirrel patrol. However, I’m also a big fan of naps and hanging out by the window, watching the world go by, or just hanging out with you and watching a movie! I thrive off of routine - new routes and places still scare me a little but once I’m used to them I get really excited for walks and hikes on trails (my favourite)! On walks now I love to say hello to new dogs and people, and its great getting all that extra attention! When I’m left home alone with my dog friends I’m happy as a clam, but if they’re not there I may sing a little husky song while you’re away to let you know I miss you, but I calm down pretty quickly when I’m alone, dreaming of your return. Other dogs help me feel comfortable so I think I’d need a canine sibling in my new home (we’d be instant friends!) with a backyard to help me adjust. I have a really nice human bro, and have met a bunch of respectful kids, and am always very gentle with them, so I’d do great in a home with dog-savvy kids. Super busy areas would be a bit much for me, so a home where there’s some quieter streets around for me to explore would be perfect. I may be scared at first in my new home, but trust me, with a little time and patience I will open up and be the bestest friend you could ever dream of! I hope you’ll give me the chance! Story
Jazzy / Female / Mixed Breed / 1 y 11 m / 11 kg / Rescued from Dominican Republic / Currently fostered in Markham House and Crate trained / Good with dogs / Good with older children Meet Jazzy, a spunky little dog with the heart of a puppy! Jazzy loves nibbling at her toys and practicing parkour. Once she's expended her energy, you'll find her cozily napping on the couch, perhaps dreaming of her next adventure. Jazzy is a bit shy, especially around new people, and once she feels safe, she’ll charm with her silly puppy spirit. She can handle being alone for up to eight hours and settles well in her crate overnight. On walks, she tends to be on high alert in the big, scary outside world. She may pull away from approaching humans but is otherwise great on leash. Jazzy is cautious when meeting new dogs during walks and can be a bit bossy with them inside the house. She currently lives with her foster mom’s older dog, and while they coexist peacefully, they don’t interact much. She has shown some resource guarding towards other dogs, especially with her crate or the couch, and can be a little possessive of her human’s attention. She only barks when someone arrives at the house, otherwise, she is quite reserved. Jazzy would thrive in a house with a fenced yard in a suburban or rural setting. An active family that enjoys regular walks and playtime would be perfect for her, but she also needs calm periods to rest and relax. Due to her shyness, a home with older children who can respect her space and understand her needs would be ideal. She could be a solo dog or live with another dog that respects her boundaries. Jazzy is looking for a forever home where she can feel safe and loved. With her charming personality and playful spirit, she’s sure to bring joy to the right family.
