Story
Meet Owen! Owen is a spirited and intelligent young working breed pup ready to find his forever home! At just 1 year old, Owen is a bundle of energy and enthusiasm, seeking an experienced owner who understands his needs and can provide him with the guidance and stimulation he craves. Owen is a training enthusiast's dream - his intelligence is evident in his quick learning and eagerness to please. His high energy levels mean he's always up for an adventure, whether it's hiking trails, going for runs, or engaging in mentally stimulating activities. Owen is a go-getter and thrives when he has a job to do, making him an ideal candidate for agility training, obedience competitions, or other challenging activities that harness his natural abilities. While Owen's exuberance is infectious, his energy is not for every household. He would do best in a home with an experienced owner who can provide consistent training, structure, and boundaries. Patience, positive reinforcement, and a firm yet gentle hand will help Owen reach his full potential. In addition to his love for activities, Owen is incredibly affectionate, loyal and forms strong bonds with his humans. He's a social butterfly with people and has enjoyed the company of other dogs after proper introductions. However, due to his exuberance, a home without small children would be most suitable for Owen.  A fenced yard where he can safely burn off his energy and engage in play would be a great bonus for this active pup. If you believe you're the perfect match for Owen, please reach out to our adoption team to learn more about this exceptional dog.  In the meantime, be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as Owen's forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website! Adoption fee includes - spay/neuter, microchip & chip registration, UTD vaccines, de-worming, flea treatment, heartworm testing.    ##1881592##

Story
Meet Elvis! He originally came into our care a few years ago, and sadly due to someunexpected circumstances with his adopter, Elvis has made his way back into our care. This handsome blue suede bully earned his moniker after the King of Rock n' Rolls famous lip curl.  And lucky for Elvis (and his future family), our vet confirmed that he has a cleft lip (not a cleft palate), so he gets to rock all the cuteness of his wonky, tooth-exposed smile, without any of the breathing or eating complications that come with a cleft palate!  We will be updating more on his personality and what he's looking for in a home as we learn a bit more about where he's at these days. Stay tuned! Elvis would do best in a home with...Cats : Nope! Dogs : Well-balanced females only, please!  Kiddos : Older kiddos (10+)! He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. To be considered as Elvis' forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website! Follow us on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! Story
Meet Greta! Greta is a beautiful senior german shepherd who ended up in an overcrowded shelter after being found as a stray. When found she was dirty, flea infested and underweight, indicating it had been a long time since she was cared for. Greta spent 5 months at the shelter where no one came to claim her and no one was interested in adopting her. All of that is behind her now! Greta is a very polite, mature gal with a wonderful temperament. She housetrained, comfortable in a crate and in true shepherd fashion Greta aims to please her people and is very attentive to whoever is handleing her. Greta will make it her " job" to protect her yard and people from the world if allowed but with leadership and clear boundaries this behavior can be avoided. It seems as though she had some training at one point in her life. While Greta does well with other dogs and has really enjoyed playing with some puppies since she's been with us, however she may prefer to be the queen bee in her home (only dog) as she doesn't always love to share her space/attention. We do really think she would enjoy having canine pals outside her home though. Greta is what we would consider a young senior who has plenty of pep in her step. At her senior check up her blood work looked great! Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as Greta's forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website!       ##1908061##

Story
Meet Sammi! Sammi is a young shepherd mix who spent 6 months at a southern CA shelter with no adoption interest. Sammi was a rockstar at the shelter and was regularly used to test the temperment and sociability of other dogs entering the shelter. We knew Sammi would make a wonderful family dog and planned to get her up to Oregon. Once Sammi was safe and in a foster home down in CA, awaiting transport to OR she began having seizures. After spending a few days at an emergency clinic with round the clock care and numerous diagnostics done, no root cause of her sudden seizure onset was determined. Fortunately her seizures were under control with medication and she was healthy and could travel to Oregon. Since arriving in Oregon, Sammi has settled in wonderfully. She can be cautious at first but once she feels safe she is so sweet and so smart! Sammi enjoys training and has started working with a trainer on her basic obedience. Sammi's ideal home wpuld be with another playful dog or two, would not have children or cats ( she has shown a little bit of a prey drive with squirrels and sometimes gets mouthy when she plays) and a family willing to go slow with her as she adjusts to her new surroundings and people. The medication Sammi takes, seems to be the right dosage to prevent seizures and she has adjusted well. She will require taking medication long term and adopters should be prepared to work with their veterinarian on management of this. Sammi has been in foster working on all her life skills and being monitored for any seizure activity. Her foster mom says she "walks well on leash, sleeps in her crate at night, is super dog social and an all around goof." Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as Sammi's forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website! Cats : Nope! Dogs : Yep!  Kiddos : Nope Adoption fee includes - spay/neuter, microchip & chip registration, UTD vaccines, de-worming, flea treatment, heartworm testing.  ##2011048##
