Story
I took Bear in about a year ago. He's a very sweet boy who just wants to please. I just don't have the time to give him the attention he needs. He's good with small children, cats, and other dogs. I honestly don't think the he would hurt a fly.

Story
***Currently located in Guerrero, Mexico*** Hey there! My name is Heidy. When I was found in December, I was wandering around the street and trying to cross the road. I had been abandoned, pregnant and alone. Even though I was scared, some wonderful people were able to take me to the shelter. As soon as I was fed, I went to sleep and got some much needed rest. The next day, I was taken to the vet where I was given routine tests - luckily, everything looked good! I am now ready for a loving family to take me home.I’m sure you can understand that I do still have a fear of being abandoned, but my rescuers say despite this, I’m a wonderful dog! I love affection from my human friends and am great with children, adults, and other dogs. I am happy-go-lucky and very excited to meet you! Story
***Currently located in Seattle, WA*** Hey there! I’m Bettylou, a member of the Pipe Girls litter (Bettylou, Caitlin, Brisa and Molly). My sisters and I were born in December 2023 to our mother Sandy, a stray beach dog. Our mother gave birth to us in Buena Vista in front of a kind couple’s home. The couple took us in, as well as our mother and our older sister, Dugg. We were so lucky to be cared for by such loving people so early in life. When we were with the couple, we were able to develop distinct personalities, intelligence, and normal doggie behaviors in a safe space. Eventually, we made our way to Surfers for Strays! I am a fluffy black ball of fur who wants to do whatever you are doing. I warm up to people quickly and will be your best friend if you let me! I also have been trying to befriend a cat around here, but he won’t give me a chance I was living with three other dogs and got along with them all well. I am a little more cautious with dogs I don’t know, and I tend to play hard to get. With more exposure and slow introductions, I’ll get more and more comfortable with them. Can you tell I want to be friends with everyone?! I am a bundle of puppy energy and personality and would love a human of my own to share life with. I promise I give the best kisses! All I ask for in return is your love (and belly rubs please!). Story
***Currently located in Guadalajara, Mexico*** Hello, my name is Chocolate. But so far life hasn't been very sweet. Many months ago I found myself on the streets. Here in Mexico, many people are not kind to those of us without homes. I suffered abuse from both humans as well as the other street dogs. Life can be tough here. Despite being bigger than most of the other dogs, I refused to fight back. Luckily for me I was brought to a shelter, and though I've heard it isn't the best life, it's still better than where I was. Despite my past, I get along with humans of all shapes and sizes, even the little ones. They say I am a gentle giant and that I have a noble nature. I enjoy playing with the other dogs and get along well with everyone. I've heard from my friends at the shelter that the best place you can end up is in a home with a family. Every day I wake up hoping this is the day I find mine. I mean, who doesn't want a bit of chocolate in their life? If you adopt me, I promise to sweeten every day! Story
***Currently located in Guadalajara, Mexico*** Hi! My name is Matilda, it's very nice to meet you. When my rescuers found me on the streets, I was only about 2 months old. I was very sick and malnourished. I am so thankful, they immediately took me to a shelter so I could get veterinary care. Without them I wouldn't have survived. It took me a whole month of fighting, but I am now 100% a happy and healthy puppy. Being young and now healthy, I'm quite active and very playful and social. I get along especially well with all the puppies that come into the shelter. I spend my days playing, napping, and showing the young ones the ropes around here! I also love to be close to the humans at the shelter. They say that I am very sweet. I really love when they take me for walks, going out and exploring is the best! I can hardly wait until I have a human of my own to take me on even more adventures! Are you looking for a well-mannered walking buddy? I hear there are tons of dog-friendly walking trails in the United States and Canada. Maybe we should check them out together??
