Story
***Currently located in Guerrero, Mexico*** Hi, I’m Kinnari, but you can call me Ki! I was rescued from the south of Troncones, where I was taking shelter in a construction site during the rains. Thankfully, a kind person spotted me and, with the help of SFS, I was able to get the medical care I needed. My journey wasn’t easy, though. After I was taken to a temporary foster home, I disappeared for over a month, and everyone was so worried about me. Just when they thought they’d lost me, I showed up again in late November, and because of my gentle nature, I was finally rescued. I’m still growing into my body, and my ears are as adorable as ever! I’m a curious and eager pup, excited to learn and experience more of the world around me. I’m working on mastering leash walking and would love to have a patient person to help me grow into the confident, well-behaved dog I’m destined to be. I’m also ready to snuggle, play, and shower my new family with love and affection. I may have had a rough start, but I’m full of hope and ready for a fresh beginning. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and loyal companion to join your family, I might just be the perfect fit. Could you be the one to give me my forever home? Story
***Currently located in Guerrero, Mexico*** Hi! I’m Brownie! And if you’re looking for a sweet spot in your life, I’m your girl. Like a lot of the dogs in Mexico, I was roaming the streets for the first seven months of my life, looking for food and love and somewhere warm to call my own. I was lucky enough to not have had any puppies of my own during that time, because taking care of myself was more than enough! When I was picked up by the rescue, there was some hope that I was finally on my way to brighter days.My friends here say that I’m a sweet girl with lots and lots of energy. When I play, I play HARD, and all I want to do is play! Just making up for lost time, I guess. I would do so well in a house with other dogs or lots of playdates and fun activities! Despite my past, I am already warm and affectionate with my human friends. I haven’t met very many, though, so I can be a bit timid at times. Anyone looking to bring me into their home should be prepared to spend one on one time with me not only so that I can learn how to be a girl of high society, but also so I can build the trust I so desperately want with a person. I am learning quickly how to be a pet, but it’s helpful for my friends to remember that I wasn’t a pet for the first formative months of my life.I hope that you’ll consider welcoming me into your family. At the end of a long day, I promise that a Brownie is all you need!Love and facelicks, your Brownie   If you are interested in FOSTERING, click on the Foster Button and fill out the online Foster Application If you are interested in ADOPTING, click on the Adopt Button and fill out the online Adoption Application Check out our VOLUNTEER Opportunities here https://www.surfersforstrays.org/get-involved  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us. Story
***Currently located in Guerrero, Mexico*** Hi there, I'm Everest! I was found wandering the streets of Mexico, struggling to survive on my own. But lucky for me, I was rescued and brought to a safe place where I could start my journey toward finding my forever home. While I might be a little shy at first, I’m quickly won over by love and attention. Once I know you're a friend, I’m all about the cuddles! I may be small, but I have a big heart, and I’m always ready to snuggle up in your lap or curl up by your side. I get along great with other dogs and cats, so I’m always up for hanging out with my furry friends. Whether it’s a game of chase or just lounging around, I love being in the company of other animals. I'm a pretty relaxed little lady when it comes to socializing—nothing beats a good nap after a playdate! I’m also crate trained, which is a huge plus! I feel safe and secure in my crate, and it’s where I enjoy eating my meals. Being crate trained means I'm already accustomed to having a little space of my own, and this will make my transition to my forever home so much easier. Plus, it’s going to be super helpful when I’m getting ready for my flight to my new family—I’ll be all set for the journey ahead! It’s one less thing you’ll have to worry about, and it helps me feel more at ease during big changes. I’ve had a little health hiccup in the past—I had cherry eye, but I had surgery to fix it! The red part might still be a bit visible, but it’ll keep getting better over time. Despite that, I’m still as gorgeous as ever and more than ready to give you all the love and cuddles you could ever want. Can’t wait to meet you! Story
***Currently located in Guerrero, Mexico*** Hey there! My name is Heidy. When I was found in December, I was wandering around the street and trying to cross the road. I had been abandoned, pregnant and alone. Even though I was scared, some wonderful people were able to take me to the shelter. As soon as I was fed, I went to sleep and got some much needed rest. The next day, I was taken to the vet where I was given routine tests - luckily, everything looked good! I am now ready for a loving family to take me home.I’m sure you can understand that I do still have a fear of being abandoned, but my rescuers say despite this, I’m a wonderful dog! I love affection from my human friends and am great with children, adults, and other dogs. I am happy-go-lucky and very excited to meet you! Story
***Currently located in Guadalajara, Mexico*** Hi! My name is Matilda, it's very nice to meet you. When my rescuers found me on the streets, I was only about 2 months old. I was very sick and malnourished. I am so thankful, they immediately took me to a shelter so I could get veterinary care. Without them I wouldn't have survived. It took me a whole month of fighting, but I am now 100% a happy and healthy puppy. Being young and now healthy, I'm quite active and very playful and social. I get along especially well with all the puppies that come into the shelter. I spend my days playing, napping, and showing the young ones the ropes around here! I also love to be close to the humans at the shelter. They say that I am very sweet. I really love when they take me for walks, going out and exploring is the best! I can hardly wait until I have a human of my own to take me on even more adventures! Are you looking for a well-mannered walking buddy? I hear there are tons of dog-friendly walking trails in the United States and Canada. Maybe we should check them out together?? Story
***Currently located in Guerrero, Mexico*** Greetings! I’m Pancho.I’m a sweet and delightful fellow who has come a long way from my rough start in life...I was discovered on the street by a couple of kind hearted flight attendants who were on a layover. They could clearly see that I was limping with gruesome open wounds on my back legs and in urgent need of care. I was nursed back to health by the flight attendants and a compassionate couple who lives in the town. Together they got me proper veterinary treatment and my foster parents diligently cleaned and treated my wounds everyday. I now happily have a new lease on life!I am a fun loving playful dog with a heart-melting goofy face and sweet demeanor. I love humans and attention, especially pets on the head. I don't quite understand belly and back rubs, but I am learning to accept them! I promise to be your bff in no time!!   I love to play with my toys and go for walks. Even though I’m about two years old, I have a puppy-like attitude and demeanor and am always down for an adventure! I love to be the center of attention and would do great as the only pup in the house, but at the same time I have some really good dog friends at the shelter and with a slow intro I would make a great second dog too. I’ll definitely make sure to give you my full and undivided love!My foster parents moved back to Canada and I was transferred to the shelter a few weeks ago. I’m grateful to the volunteers here but it is not the ideal environment for me. I am looking for my forever home that will fit with all of my beautiful and unique qualities. I cannot wait to get to know my fur-ever family! Will I be your future buddy?
