Story
FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks! --- Oh Cecil... we just know your forever home is out there!! Cecil has been with us since February and we's just a big goof. Cecil is the only brown one in the litter and got more of the Bully / Doberman look than his black and white siblings. DNA says they are Mutts! Shepherd, Bully, Doberman, Aussie, Cattle Dog and even a little chihuahua. Hee Hee. Cecil will be a year old in mid-November. He's about 65# and we think he will get a little bigger. Cecil is confident and friendly. He loves 'lovins' and to be acknowledged by his people. He will try for a lap but overall defaults to sleeping on a dog bed. He hasn’t gotten on the furniture except when there’s a person to cuddle with. He is respectful of the other dogs and plays well his foster siblings. Cecil is smart and housebroken. He does very well in his crate and sleeps through the night. Cecil thinks the resident cat is fun to bark at... but he does not chase. Dog savvy cats would be OK. Cecil does sometimes like to hear himself talk, go figure - he's got that GSD DNA in him. ;) We think his ideal home is one with a large fenced yard, and another larger friendly dog. Older kids would be fine, cuz Cecil is a big door and may knock over smaller children. This puppy is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Cecil has also been put on pet insurance and cleared orthopedically. He's great off leash, but as he's become a 'teenager' has gotten more excited and barks on leash. He's having some impulse control issues. We have recently started Cecil in private dog training with Evergreen School for Dogs in Arlington. His foster mom is taking him and says Cecil is very smart and responsive. IF he's not done with those lessons when he's adopted, they will transfer to the adoptive family. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. Save-A-Mutt may require a training contract and refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience) on our larger breed puppies. Adoptions typically take place in Everett. This puppy is ready for it's new home! Adoption fee is $375. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home. Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.

Story
Goldie, she's a sweet dog. Unfortunately for us though, we have have been getting an increasingly more busy schedule that doesn't match her physical needs. On top of that, we're not sure if it is her fur or her saliva but, something about her causes allergic reactions for half of my family. We originally got her as a way to encourage my brother to spend more time outside of our home. Turns out though, that work would get us all too busy to properly take care of her. She hasn't been brought inside of house to be trained however, she's a good listener and can learn skills easily given the proper time. She is also quite active so, having a big enough place for her to roam or being able to take her on frequent walks is necessary for her. We believe that she is a mix of a Husky, German Shepherd, and Black Labrador combined. It hasn't been confirmed though, as the person we purchased Goldie from was the second owner and did not know her origins either. We just wish for her to be happy.

Story
My baby girl Dolly is 7 months old. She is the sweetest dog when she is not with my older female dog. They do not get along, they are always fighting. Dolly is potty trained, leash trained, knows all the basic commands. She is super affectionate, really is the sweetest. Unfortunately, she just cannot be with my older already established dog. Dolly is spayed and up to date on all her shots and does excellent at her vet appointments. Deciding to rehome her has been the hardest decision. This has broken my heart, but this is what’s best for all involved.

Story
I’ve had Harley for two years. She just turned 4 beginning of December. She is approx 45lbs. Harley is very sweet and loving however she is jealous of attention is given to other pet. She has gotten along with my cat and my 100lb lab girl but she does occasionally growl at her. Harley is extremely anxious if left alone and she will seek any means to escape a back yard or locked room, including eating/scratching the carpets and doors. I also notice she is terrified of children and I have a kid so she is always hiding under my bed. Harley would do great with someone who works from home or is retired and can give her love and attention every day. I do not recommend her to a home with kids or other dogs. She is hit and miss with men. Seems she prefers female owners.

Story
I had bought her from a very loving family straight from her liter and all the information I have on her is that she is dewormed and has not had any other treatment such as rabies and other things in the such. She is about 12-13 weeks old she is a very sweet dog and loves to play. My wife and I bought her because we wanted a family dog for our daughter and our other child on the way. Unfortunately it has been proven difficult to give her what she needs while having a toddler and pregnant wife in the house. Unfortunately she has to go as soon as possible.

Story
Lily is an 8-year-old Alaskan Malamute with a huge heart. She’s loyal, goofy, and loves to follow her favorite person everywhere. She’s great with cats and can warm up to other dogs with slow introductions. She loves lying in the sun, chewing on bones, and going on short walks. Life changes mean I can no longer give Lily the time and care she deserves. She has incontinence, but with her daily meds, she’s perfectly healthy and full of life. She’s house-trained, knows basic commands, and can be left alone without issues. Lily would thrive in a quiet home with a fenced yard and maybe one other dog. She comes with a month of her meds, toys, bowls, leashes, harnesses, brushes, food, and her medical records. If you’re looking for a loving, calm companion and can give her the care she needs, please reach out. She deserves the best home possible.
