Story
We got Shera at 8 weeks old and she is now 5 years old. She is high energy and loves to play fetch and go for walks! Once she has built trust with someone, she will love them forever. She is very protective of her master family. She knows a variety of commands, is house broken, and is crate trained. She can be hesitant or reserved with new people. She will bark at anybody new that comes to the house, but she is not aggressive. Once trust is built over time, she is then fine with those visitors. She does act scared of new people though until she warms up to them. We have two kids in the house [13 and 10] and she is great with them. We are rehoming due to her reservations with new people. We often have people over to visit. She should likely go to a home that has experience with anxious GSDs and maybe training experience. Shera has been the victim of aggressiveness from our other dog, so we would like to get Shera into a safe forever home.

Story
Lola is a sweet, smart, playful dog! She is 3 years old and weighs 65lbs. She loves being with her humans, she loves to go on walks, she loves to play fetch, she loves playing with other dogs, and she even loves cats! She is also good around farm animals, including chickens. She is very loving and likes to snuggle on the couch! Lola is no longer getting the time and attention she deserves as many things have changed in our lives recently, both work-wise and health-wise. We believe there is a better household out there for her.

Story
4 Females and 4 Males make up this beautiful litter of German Shepherd and Lab mix puppies. Born on June 25th, these babies didn’t ask to come into the world. They have been denied by every rescue in the south Texas area, to no fault of their own. We knew we couldn’t turn our back on them. Pip, Cleopatra, Zara, Nova, Jasper, Archie, Dodger and Bertie are some of the most calm, gentle, and such sweet, sweet babies you’ll meet. They do not have a mean bone in their body. As of 9/22 they weigh between 18-23 lbs – their dad is a pure-bred German Shepherd, and the mom is a petite (35 lbish) lab mix. We believe these pups will be around 60-65 lbs once full grown. These 8 pups LOVE to play. They love their toys, especially the tug-o-war ones! When they’re super happy, they do zoomies around the yard in pure excitement and happiness. They have been exposed to cats, and they have no issues with them. If anything, the cats bother the puppies hah. They have also met other dogs and love every doggy they meet. These 8 pups have been around elderly people since they were born, the owner of the parents is in his 70s, so they have grown up knowing not to jump, to be gentle and kind. They are VERY laid back. They are all quite submissive, and just go with the flow. They’re very curious and VERY smart. They learn quickly and are very eager to please their humans. They would thrive in almost every type of environment as they’re such good puppies. Very food motivated – they love their breakfast, lunch and dinner and come running when the bucket shakes with food. They’re obsessed with treats, and not picky at all. They’re happy with whatever you have to give them. The females are a little bit more calm than the males, but they all wag their tails when being held and we know with one on one time, they will come out of their shell and be the beautiful, glowing, sweet, SUPER kiss-giving puppies they really are. Story
“Hi, I'm Sasha! I'm a young, playful, and goofy girl. I'm smart and curious, always up for a new adventure. My favorite game? Fetch, of course! I'm an energetic German Shepherd, so I need a home that understands my breed. I promise to bring joy and laughter to your life with my playful antics. I'm not just a pet, I'm a companion, a friend, a family member. Adopt me and let's create our own magical world together.” Sasha is a 2 year old female German Shepherd that came to the shelter because her owner was moving and could not take Sasha with them. Sasha has met other dogs here at the shelter and has gotten along with them well. We do recommend bringing in your dog(s) to meet Sasha to make sure everyone gets along. Sasha needs to go to a home that understands the mental and physical stimulation that her breed needs to excel in her forever home. She would do best in a home that has previous German Shepherd experience. She would benefit from continued work on her obedience training. She is food and toy motivated. (Playing fetch with tennis ball being one of her favorite games!) You can visit this pet during our Animal Viewing Hours below. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Harley, the charismatic female German Shepherd Dog (GSD) with boundless energy and an athletic spirit. Born to shine, Harley is a remarkable companion who thrives on adventure and always seeks to please her human counterparts. Harley's enthusiasm for life is contagious. Whether it's going for a long hike, engaging in a game of fetch, or conquering an agility course, she embraces physical activities with zeal and determination. Her agility and strength make her a natural athlete, always ready to explore and conquer new challenges. Harley's inherent athleticism is matched only by her intelligence, allowing her to quickly learn and excel in various tasks and commands. She thrives on the satisfaction of making her humans proud, always aiming to please and impress. Her loyalty and devotion are unwavering, making her an ideal companion for those seeking a true bond with their four-legged friend. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Goose was a beloved family pet who was surrendered due to landlord issues.  This was an agonizing decision  because Goose's best friend was an 11 year old child :-( With no remedy in sight to the housing issue, the family was desperate to find Goose a safe place and drove 4 hours to bring Goose to safety with ASR.  Goose is friendly and social with everyone she meets at ASR and has gotten along well with male dogs.  She is crate and house trained. She lived with two senior cats in her prior life, and while separated by a baby gate, Goose appeared uninterested in them. Goose is ready to meet prospective adopters now and find her new forever family. Check out her videos and the picture of her walking nicely with the other dogs. THANK YOU Liz G. for sponsoring GOOSE!!! If you have not yet completed our Application process, please complete our Adoption Application at www.allshepherdrescue.com.
