Story
Meet Madrona. She will talk her way into your heart. She is settling in well at her foster home but is looking for her forever home. Madrona is super loyal and bonded closely to her foster parent after a month of living with him. She likes to lay at his feet and "talk" to him. Her foster parent says this about her: She is a very sweet girl, friendly to both dogs and humans, and wants to meet everyone and everything. She is as obedient as any husky is, i.e. does whatever she wants. She is treat driven and loves peanut butter. She has a bit of zoomies that generally manifest after some exercise, does not like swimming, loves car rides, and is okay with running and long walks. Most of the day she just lays around at home or in the office, but is super excited in a new environment and expects everyone to play and entertain her. Overall she is very well behaved, but tugs on her leash when she sees birds or other dogs. She learns very quickly and slowly getting used to hugs and cuddles.Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
This beautiful boy has the personality to match! He is a total sweetheart! He has only lived outdoors and so he will need someone with the patience to teach him the ways of indoor living. He hasn't been around kids but we believe that he will be fine with older, dog savvy children (10+). He hasn't been socialized much with other dogs but did live with another female Husky. He may do best with larger female dogs. No cats. He is a great running partner and stays right by your side! He is an active pooch but not hyperactive. As with most Huskies, he is independent and a free spirit. He may alert bark at strangers but warms up quickly! Fully fenced in yard will be required. Adopters must live in Western Washington. Fosters must live in Kitsap County.
