Story
Chase is a 7.5 yr old male black lab, shepherd, husky mix with blue eyes- he's a big guy at 86#, and this is his ideal weight. He previously lived with people that were happy to have him in the family, but didn't really spend any time with obedience training - Chase knows his name but no commands. The foster is teaching him to sit for a treat. He is also learning leash manners - still tends to pull if he wants to check something out. He enjoys time outside, and being part husky, he will vocalize to you when he wants to go out. Actually, he also does that when he wants treats and pets......you just have to figure out which one he wants. Because he can get over a 4 ft. high fence, Chase needs a 5 ft fenced enclosure so he can safely be outside for extended periods, or he will need to be on a tieout. Chase enjoys walks, and will chase after small critters in the yard. There are 2 felines in his foster home and he ignores them. He is almost indifferent to the other dog in his foster home, and would be perfectly content to be the "only dog". He enjoys chewing on bones (tends to bury them when he is done chewing) and on rope toys; some interest in balls, but not in retrieving them. Chase likes some attention from his people, especially pets and belly rubs - he's a dog that will sit close to you, but not necessarily snuggle. Well behaved indoors, and has free run of the house when left - thus far he's been left for about 4 hrs. but the foster expects he would be fine up to 8 hrs. Chase is housebroken, and will come over to you, "talk", and walk to the door when he needs to go out. He sheds seasonally, and will need brushing in the spring to remove the winter undercoat he develops. I don't know if he has ever lived with children - Chase is a mature dog, and not interested in playing. Chase is neutered and current on distemper and rabies vaccinations. His microchip is registered to Second Chance. Chase has a $275 adoption fee. If you are interested in meeting him, call 651-771-5662.

Story
Hello this is Tobi. Tobi will be 7 in June. I am very sad to be writting this for him but I am no longer able to care for him due to housing situation. Tobi is very active so he tends to bite on things like kids toys or couches for example if he is very bored. I know Tobi is bored and needs more attention. Tobi loves walks and loves loves the dog park! During the summer I was able to take him out every other weekend but he deserves more. He was sent to a training camp for 2 weeks when he was 6 months old and he recalls most of it like heel, down, sit but he does need a bit of re training. He only uses the bathroom outside unless he is sick or someone doesnt not take him him out on time. Cage trained. Tobi needs someone as active as him and someone who has time for him. He grew up with kids so he does okay with them. Tobi needs patience as well. He has always been active and playful. Hes a sweet boy. If you have other dogs it may take him a bit to get used to it but he will!

Story
Whiskey is a great dog, he is an awesome companion dog. He has lots of energy but he can also cuddle. He is mostly potty trained but can have accidents if left alone for more than 8 hours. He is used to be kennel trained but we have not used it in a while, he sleeps in his own bed. He loves to go on walks and he is very active and does not like thunderstorms. He is very selective of food scraps and treats, he just like what he likes! He adores kids, any age. Does not like cats or small dogs, he might think they are toys or prey. Whiskey can jump very high! Therefore if you have a fence it needs to be 6 to 8 ft otherwise you will have to leash him to go outside. We are looking for someone that have time to spend with him and love him as a part of the family.

Story
Meet Blitz! This 9 month-old Labrador mix is an ultimate goofball and lover looking for his forever family! Blitz is looking for a home that will allow him to meet his energy needs while giving him a safe space to cuddle at the end of the day. While a young guy, he’s made tremendous strides since being in rescue and is eager to keep learning how to be a dog!Blitz adores being around other dogs and is always game to play. He is very excitable when meeting new dogs in public and wants everyone to be his friend! He’s great at picking up on dog’s cues and meeting them at their level when interacting. Blitz has not done well around the cats he’s met so far and it’s not recommended he is around them long-term. Due to his breed and age, his prey drive plays a factor when interacting with smaller critters! As far as kids go, he’s a bit more hesitant than he is with adults but does okay. We recommend a meet and greet prior to adopting to a home with children and continued training with child interactions. He’s been doing well with crate training and spending time alone. He’s been known to let out the occasional bark or howl, so a home with shared walls may not be ideal but is still possible. He’s been used to a fenced yard and it would be a major bonus if his forever home has one too! Blitz prefers a medium to high activity level and will appreciate it if he can utilize a fenced yard to let off some additional steam.Blitz is a very lovable guy who learns very quickly! His ideal forever home will be one that’s dedicated to his continued training and can give him the daily enrichment and socialization he needs. If you’re interested in learning more about Blitz and think he might be a good fit, fill out an application using the link below to learn more! Whoever becomes his family will feel lucky they did.https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
This 9-month-old Labrador Retriever/Poodle mix is a playful and curious pup! Weighing 55 pounds now, Tiana loves playing with all people and dogs, making her a wonderful companion for an active family. Tiana is house-trained and quickly made herself at home. While she isn’t crate-trained, her foster family reports that she’s safe and content sleeping in a bedroom. She has previously lived with cats and children, but a proper introduction will be required to ensure safety for everyone.Tiana loves all different kinds of playtime—playing outside, chasing tennis balls, wrestling with her canine foster brother, and tug-of-war games. When she's playing alone, she's also happy to have a chew toy or a frozen kong. It's never a dull moment with how adorably clumsy she can be, sometimes tripping over her own legs, and somehow always pushing her tennis ball under couches and cabinets. She needs at least one daily walk and plenty of playtime with people or dogs. While she can be left alone, she needs some engagement or she may move your belongings around to keep herself entertained. She isn’t destructive but does best in a safe space without access to items she might relocate. Her dream home will require a fenced yard where she can run and play, ideally with a canine sibling to wrestle and explore with.Tiana is young and eager to learn, and with the right structure, training, and love, she will become an incredible family dog!If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
We got Duke from a lovely couple in the country side as a family dog. He was born in April of 2021, and will be 4 years old this year. Due to our busy schedule, we felt that we are slowly unable to meet the needs of Duke and that he deserve so much more, which makes us feel that the best solution was for Duke to go into a home where he can have the time to be outside and connect with people. Duke is very calm, friendly, and playful. He loves your attention and loves playing with toys. He was overweight being home for the most part, which has affected his right eye. But with working through many veterinarians, he has now slowly lost weight and that it was due to his lack of exercise/overweight that may have caused the discoloration in his eye. He loves to go on walks, but with the few interactions he has had with other dogs, he is afraid of them if they bark at him. Otherwise, he usually minds his business and is very playful once he gets to know others.
