Story
I adopted Kevin from a shelter as a puppy, and he has been with me for 7 years. He is an active dog, who loves walks and running around outside playing fetch. I am looking to re-home him due to being a recently single parent, and I don't have the time or resources to be able to afford to keep him. I am trying to find a home with him with older kids, as he is a little dog at heart.

Story
Meet Eula! This sweet girl is ready for her next chapter. Eula came into rescue from a large-scale overcrowding case. She is super sweet and obedient but also has a small desire to escape. She likes to scout the yard for places where she thinks she can dig out once you catch her pawing at the ground she runs back to you or stops what she’s doing. With time, routine, and comfort we are confident she will. She’s excellent in the crate. No issues in the house. Lower energy. Loves to just lay at the back door and watch things in the yard. Eula has done well with both dog and cat foster siblings. Medical History: Before Eula entered rescue her left ear was removed, and she has significant hearing loss on the left side. Her right ear and hearing on the right is in-tact. This does not impact her daily living and quality of life, and we do not expect future medical treatments related to the lost ear. *More information and photos added over time. We work on training, crate-training and socialization before a dog is adopted out. Foster homes are extremely important to the success of the cat at their forever home, and it is extremely rewarding to be able to watch the cats growth as you help them on their journey to their happy ending. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please fill out our application at http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/adopt/foster-application/ YOU CAN HELP: If you’re not able to foster or adopt right now, please consider sponsoring a Legend. Story
Magdalena is not just any dog; she is a testament to the resilience and the unwavering spirit of a survivor. This beautiful 5-year-old Labrador mix has faced challenges that would have deterred many, yet her spirit remains unbroken and her heart full of love. Magdalena's journey has been a tough one. Due to a human-caused incident, she tragically lost one of her legs and, heartbreakingly, her puppies as well. Despite these hardships, Magdalena has shown incredible strength and determination to heal both physically and emotionally. The last picture was taken during her early healing stages, you can see her courageously taking each step forward, supported by her indomitable spirit. Today, Magdalena is fully healed and ready to embark on a new chapter of her life - one filled with love, compassion, and the security of a forever home. Her gentle demeanor and loving nature shine through every interaction. Magdalena adores human companionship and has a special affinity for belly rubs and leisurely walks. She is known for her playful antics and happy face. Magdalena's ideal home would be one where she is cherished as a member of the family and the only dog in the home. She does well with dogs her size or bigger but hasn't been around small dogs much and doesn't do well with smaller dogs. She has also never been around cats but given her reaction to small dogs, she probably would do best in a home without cats. She thrives on affection and is eager to return it tenfold. Whether it's snuggling on the couch or exploring the great outdoors, Magdalena is up for any adventure as long as she's by your side. If you're ready to open your heart to a dog who has overcome adversity with grace and love, Magdalena is waiting to meet you. Help us give this incredible survivor the happy ending she deserves - a forever home filled with kindness, warmth, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow. Could you be the one to give Magdalena the loving home she's been waiting for? Reach out today to meet this special dog and discover the joy she can bring to your life.

She loves riding in the car. If the weather allows, she’s a great dog to go on errands with. I think she’s happier that she was brought along rather than left alone at home. Millie is house trained and at this time she requires an insulin shot right after she eats in the morning and 10-12 hours later, with dinner-she requires special diabetic dog food. Approximate monthly cost of her medications and prescription food is $335.She gets along well with other dogs she can be a bit too much for smaller dogs. and cats are unknown. She can be very vocal when hungry or when she has to go outside. Her best bet is a fenced yard that she can be just let out to go potty when she needs to.  Millie will need to continue to work with a Veterinarian to keep her diabetes regulated so she can live a long happy life.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. You will never have to sleep alone on your pillow again. Once he trusts you, he is your shadow. You will never have to be alone again going to the bathroom, going to do laundry and he even has your back as you mow the lawn. He just loves to hang out with you wherever you are. He is kennel trained, house broken and sits and has good recall. He is working on jumping manners but he sits like a very good boy and just gets very excited to see you and wants more attention. He is very shy to meet new people, especially men but is very curious. He is learning to play fetch but if he is really bored and you are ignoring him he then likes flip flops. He needs slow introductions to other dogs as he is very nervous but loves to play and wrestle once he comfortable. He responds very well to positive reinforcement and is easily corrected. Story
Hi all! My name is Bender but my friends call me Charlie. I am a fun-loving guy looking for my forever family! I was recently returned to rescue because I grew bigger than my previous family was expecting me to get. Their loss because bigger just means more of me to love you with! I am currently about 35 lbs and my mom thinks I’m some sort of yellow lab mix so at 7 months old I will probably still have a little growing to do. I am your typical happy-go-lucky pup who loves to give kisses, cuddle on the couch and play with (destroy) toys. More than anything I love to play and run around with my foster brother as I have lots of energy to burn off. I seem to be good with dogs and people so far although I sometimes bark at them out the window. I met some kids at an event and LOVED them! As I am a puppy, I can get a bit mouthy and jump up on you when we are playing, but I never mean any harm and my mom has me working on it. Speaking of training I know how to sit already and we are working hold/wait commands. Potty training is a work in progress, I sometimes have a hard time holding my bladder when I get over excited or anxious so my mom is taking me out often when I’m not in my crate. I do like my crate okay, I go right in when asked and am pretty quiet overall in there until I get bored or need to go to the bathroom then I whine or bark to get your attention. You need to give me something constructive to chew on otherwise I might nibble on the bedding. I go all night in my crate with no accidents and am generally pretty good during the day when my mom is working as long as we take a few breaks. If I can tell that you are actually leaving I might cry in my crate for the first few minutes. I am currently living in a condo and my mom thinks I would do better with more space and a yard to run around in to help get my energy out. I do pull on a leash and am pretty strong already for my size. Sometimes my mom brings me to a friend’s yard and I am good in the car on the way over and then super excited to race all around when I get there. I am learning how to play fetch too, which is so cool! Although giving the ball back is still a work in progress. I have a lot of love to give, and I would love to give it to you! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $575.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 11:35 pm
