Story
Whiskey is a great dog, he is an awesome companion dog. He has lots of energy but he can also cuddle. He is mostly potty trained but can have accidents if left alone for more than 8 hours. He is used to be kennel trained but we have not used it in a while, he sleeps in his own bed. He loves to go on walks and he is very active and does not like thunderstorms. He is very selective of food scraps and treats, he just like what he likes! He adores kids, any age. Does not like cats or small dogs, he might think they are toys or prey. Whiskey can jump very high! Therefore if you have a fence it needs to be 6 to 8 ft otherwise you will have to leash him to go outside. We are looking for someone that have time to spend with him and love him as a part of the family.

Story
Meet Blitz! This 9 month-old Labrador mix is an ultimate goofball and lover looking for his forever family! Blitz is looking for a home that will allow him to meet his energy needs while giving him a safe space to cuddle at the end of the day. While a young guy, he’s made tremendous strides since being in rescue and is eager to keep learning how to be a dog!Blitz adores being around other dogs and is always game to play. He is very excitable when meeting new dogs in public and wants everyone to be his friend! He’s great at picking up on dog’s cues and meeting them at their level when interacting. Blitz has not done well around the cats he’s met so far and it’s not recommended he is around them long-term. Due to his breed and age, his prey drive plays a factor when interacting with smaller critters! As far as kids go, he’s a bit more hesitant than he is with adults but does okay. We recommend a meet and greet prior to adopting to a home with children and continued training with child interactions. He’s been doing well with crate training and spending time alone. He’s been known to let out the occasional bark or howl, so a home with shared walls may not be ideal but is still possible. He’s been used to a fenced yard and it would be a major bonus if his forever home has one too! Blitz prefers a medium to high activity level and will appreciate it if he can utilize a fenced yard to let off some additional steam.Blitz is a very lovable guy who learns very quickly! His ideal forever home will be one that’s dedicated to his continued training and can give him the daily enrichment and socialization he needs. If you’re interested in learning more about Blitz and think he might be a good fit, fill out an application using the link below to learn more! Whoever becomes his family will feel lucky they did.https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
Bonnie is a 9-year-old Lab mix who loves to explore! Bonnie loves her walks more than anything, but at home, she will roll over and direct your hand to give her a belly rub. She would thrive in a home that values both her love for adventure and her appreciation for a cozy nap. Bonnie will happily trot alongside you 3-4 times a day. This is great because she’s also a bit overweight, so she is slowly trimming down with regular exercise. She’s respectful of human belongings but isn’t shy about showing off her playful side, tossing her toys around and jumping excitedly in the yard with her tennis ball. While she enjoys her exercise, she also knows the value of relaxation and is just as content stretching out on the couch for some quality downtime. She has adjusted well to her foster home after some initial anxiety, where it took her a few days before settling into a more relaxed routine. While she’s not crate-trained, she does just fine being left alone in the house and isn’t destructive. She barks occasionally when she wants attention or when something excites her, like a door slamming, but she quiets down quickly. She may not be an ideal fit for shared walls (apartments/townhomes), so this is something to keep in mind for her progress.Bonnie is still learning how she feels about other dogs. Sometimes she doesn’t react to them at all, while other times she tends to bark. Based on the interactions she’s had while in foster care, we think Bonnie would prefer to be the sole dog of the household or share her space with another mellow dog. A meet and greet may be recommended prior to adopting her to a home with other dogs. She hasn’t been tested with cats, but due to her generally calm demeanor, she may do well. So far, she’s had the chance to meet a couple of toddlers and loved their company! Bonnie would likely do well in a home with children around. Bonnie is affectionate, independent when she wants to be, and full of quirks that will make you smile, from her adorable little stump tail wagging when you come home to the way she sings along with sirens. If you’re looking for a sweet, mature dog who will be both your walking buddy and your snuggle companion, Bonnie is ready to meet you!If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $250. Story
Meet Penny!Penny is a 2.5-year-old black Labrador Retriever with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. Weighing 60 pounds, she’s a medium-sized pup who is still learning the ropes of home life after coming from a difficult past. While she wasn’t potty-trained when she arrived in her foster home, she has made incredible progress and is now fully potty trained! She does best when let outside regularly throughout the day, but she can comfortably hold it overnight. Penny is fully crate-trained and finds comfort in her crate at night and when home alone. This affectionate girl is a total sweetheart and absolutely adores people. While she hasn’t been around kids yet, her gentle nature suggests she’d likely do well with them. She hasn’t had much interaction with other dogs, but she does well on walks aside from her initial apprehension. She hasn’t been tested with cats yet.Penny’s personality is a perfect mix of playful and cuddly. She loves squeaky toys, rope toys for tug of war, and chasing after tennis balls. When she’s not playing, she’s happiest curled up next to her humans (or on their lap if she can manage it!). One of her cutest quirks is her head tilt when you talk to her—she seems to be trying to understand every word. She’s also incredibly observant and will intently watch you cook or clean as if she’s studying the process. And with her white “sock” paws, she looks like she’s always dressed for a fancy event!Energy-wise, Penny is moderately active. She enjoys two short walks a day (15-20 minutes each) but thrives with extra playtime, like fetch or tug of war, to burn off some energy. She isn’t overly vocal—she rarely barks unless she spots a critter or a stranger near the house. While she loves having her people around, she is comfortable in her crate when left alone for longer periods.Overall, Penny is a smart, loving, and resilient dog who is eager to keep learning and growing. She needs a home that will continue to guide her with patience and positive reinforcement, but in return, she’ll provide endless affection, laughter, and companionship. Could Penny be the perfect addition to your family?https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Leo is a fun-loving, energetic, and affectionate 3-year-old Yellow Lab who is looking for an active home that can keep up with his playful personality. Weighing in at 65 pounds, Leo is a strong and enthusiastic companion who thrives on interaction and outdoor activity. He is fully house-trained and will sit by the patio door when he needs to go outside, whether for a bathroom break or a game of fetch—his absolute favorite activity. He is also crate-trained and will go in willingly with a treat, remaining quiet while his humans leave, though he may bark briefly when he hears them return.A social and friendly dog, Leo gets along well with other dogs but can be a bit pushy once he gets comfortable, so he would do best with canine companions who are tolerant of his play style. He has lived with cats in his previous foster home with no issues, though dog-savvy cats are ideal. He also adores children and enjoys playing with them, but due to his size and enthusiasm, he may accidentally knock over smaller kids in his excitement. While he is incredibly sweet and never aggressive, families with children under five should be mindful of his energetic nature.Leo has a few quirks that make him extra charming. When let out of his kennel, he loves to carry around a shoe as if it’s his personal trophy. He’s also quite determined when it comes to food—if he spots a treat under the couch, he’ll do whatever it takes to retrieve it. However, this love of food also means he needs a slow feeder for his meals and supervision around accessible snacks on counters. He’s highly motivated by treats and will eagerly sit or lie down when a reward is involved!Ideally, Leo’s adopter would be someone who’s around throughout the day and able to provide daily exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation. Access to a yard would be a major bonus to allow Leo to play fetch to his heart’s content!Leo is a wonderful, loving dog who just wants to be part of an active family that will give him the attention, exercise, and companionship he craves. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and affectionate best friend, Leo is ready to fill that role!If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Meet Marley!Marley is a curious, playful, and outgoing 10-week-old Lab/Shepherd mix who is full of puppy energy and love. Marley is a confident little explorer who loves to follow her nose, play with toys, and soak up attention from both humans and other dogs!Marley is the definition of a fun-loving puppy! She has bursts of playful energy, followed by long, cozy naps. She loves chasing balls, wrestling with her littermate Millie, and pouncing on toys like a kitten! Her favorite toys are often cat toys, and she is learning how to interact gently with feline friends. Though she is still young and learning, she is not overly mouthy, making her a great match for families with children.Marley is fearless when it comes to exploring her environment—she was quick to master stairs, leap off furniture (sometimes without thinking it through first), and dive into new experiences with enthusiasm. Because Marley is still a puppy, she will need a family that is committed to continuing her training, socialization, and exercise needs. She will need a securely fenced yard to keep her safe, as she is still learning recall and has a tendency to run off when she has something in her mouth that she shouldn’t.Marley is an intelligent pup who picks up on new things quickly. She is already comfortable in her crate and will often go inside on her own to rest. She is currently working on house training—she is learning to go potty outside but still relies on pee pads inside her pen. With consistency and patience, she will continue to improve in this area.Despite being an independent explorer, Marley is also a cuddle bug at heart. She enjoys snuggling up with her humans when she’s ready to rest, making her the perfect balance of playful and affectionate. If you’re looking for a fun, adventurous, and affectionate pup who will keep you entertained and shower you with love, Marley is your girl! She is full of personality, charm, and a little bit of mischief—all of which make her an incredibly fun and rewarding companion. She may still be learning the ropes, but with the right home, she will grow into a wonderful, well-adjusted family dog.If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550.
