Story
Lady, cattledog mix, 4 yo, 57 lb, spayed femaleLady is thin long-legged cattledog mix with the cutest face and floppy ears. She is curious and fascinated by all kinds of things. Lady spent months and months in limbo in boarding and was happy to join our gang and have a choice of playmates.  She is young and active, and needs a fenced yard.  Lady finds it most comforting to lie down close to you especially if she can somehow lean into you. It is hard to understand how this gentle angel, still almost a puppy, could be abandoned. We so hope to find stable loving home for her. Adoption fee $325. Story
Meet sweet  Heather ... She has been in training for several weeks now, and she is ready to start meeting her forever family.  What will she need... patience, a few meet and greets at her training facilities by her interested adopters so she can get to know you.  A fur friend she would like to also get to know! LOVE, & cuddles, and did we mention the time to be a sweet family girl!   Here is her latest's report card!  We're thrilled to update you on  Heather 's progress this past week. We've successfully transitioned  Heather  to working fully off-leash and have begun practicing proper introductions to new people, both key steps in building her confidence and polishing her good doggie skills! In the first attached video, you'll see  Heather  navigating a variety of distractions in our training room, such as toys and other dogs. With the leash no longer serving as a means of communication, we've increased our verbal cues and body language to maintain  Heather 's focus and encourage her adherence to commands.  Heather  shows a commendable ability to redirect her attention back to her handler after a few corrections for sniffing or looking at toys. She's eager to please, and we plan to continue enhancing her off-leash skills by exposing her to diverse environments in the coming weeks. The second video features  Heather  meeting a new friend, Jackie. This initial meeting is structured to ensure  Heather 's comfort and safety. We start with dual leashes—one with me and one with Jackie. As I guide  Heather  through commands, Jackie takes over, reinforcing  Heather ’s obedience under new leadership. My presence in the middle with the second leash ensures control if  Heather  shows any signs of using her teeth. This structured approach teaches  Heather  that following directions, especially from new people who make decisions, leads to rewards like treats, helping her quickly trust and feel comfortable with Jackie. We also demonstrate additional body language techniques that further facilitate  Heather 's comfort and bond-building with new people.  Hi, my name is  Heather . I am about 1.7 years old and 50 pounds. I am a beautiful Cattle Dog mix. I can be a little timid, and fearful at my first meetings.  BUT I LOVE treats and gentle talking.  So far, I prefer and trust the company of women, BUT I am learning with slow intros and TREATS that men are nice too! I need a foster family that will let me take my time with humans slowly, at my pace, to want to cuddle-snuggle!  I do cuddle and sit by your side as soon as I feel safe. Can you be my foster home and give me this chance? I get along with other dogs, and they help me to learn confidence.  I  need a home with adults only and would prefer a quiet lifestyle and a secure fenced yard. IS THIS YOU?  Please put in a foster application  https://eapl.com/become-foster-home/    or email  eaplevergreen@eapl.com  for more information.  Her adoption fee is $375. Put in an application at eapl.com March 10, 2025, 1:28 pm

Story
Miss Talia is the sweetest pup who loves to give everyone she meets (dogs, cats and people) kisses!  She is full of energy and loves to play with other friendly pups, but also loves snuggling and napping with her foster mom. She tends to be pretty low key in the mornings with the puppy energy kicking in during the mid to late afternoon hours. She loves her evening walks and does great on leash. She is also a pro at using the steps her foster mom has for her to get into the back of the SUV and into her travel crate!Talia is very smart and already knows how to "sit," "down," and "come," which is impressive for a dog settling into her new life. Despite her long journey from a high-kill shelter to Colorado, she has been remarkably calm and has had no accidents in the house, showing how quickly she’s adjusting. One quirk to be noted is that Talia has not gone potty on leash at all yet in the two months she's been with her foster mom, even on longer 45+ minute walks. She will instead run to the back door to be let out in the yard to go.Talia isn't not too fond of her crate, but with a kong or some treats, she’ll happily run into it and snooze the morning away while her foster mom is at work. Then it's out again at lunchtime and back in for the afternoon. Treats work great for this but even more ideal would be someone who works from home and would love a companion to nap next to them or quietly play with toys or someone who could provide her with some puppy play dates in the afternoons or a few hours of doggy daycare. She's still just a baby after all and would love some more social time!Talia did have FHO surgery on her right hip in the past, but she hasn't let it slow her down and is ready to live her best life with a loving family. This sweet girl is going to make an amazing companion for someone lucky enough to welcome her into their home. If you’re looking for a smart, playful, and loving pup, Talia could be the perfect fit for you! ##2270397##
