Please read ALL of this listing prior to emailing with questions or inquiries. If you are interested in Deana and feel that you would be a good match for her, you MUST FIRST fill out and submit our application at: https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ (copy and paste). After we receive your application and review it, we will contact you. Thank you! Biscuit is a cute little 11-lb. Dachshund/Chihuahua mix who is looking for his forever home and family, along with his buddy, Dixie. We're told he's about 11-years old, but he certainly doesn't act like a senior... he still has plenty of energy and enjoys going for long walks. In his foster home, Biscuit gets along well with the other three small dogs. He is well housetrained, and 'does his business' on a leash since his foster home doesn't have a fenced yard. Biscuit does sleep in a crate at night, but doesn't enjoys it and will complain for a while before he settles down. He does not do well riding in a car, so a family who generally stays close to home and will take him for nice long walks (which he really enjoys) will be best for him. Biscuit especially loves his foster dad, and will cuddle next to or on him whenever possible. We know that he would love to have a male in his new family! Biscuit is neutered, microchipped, current on his Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations, and tested negative for Heartworms. He also received a dental cleaning, so he is fully vetted and ready to go to his forever home. Biscuit's adoption fee is $400.00 if adopted separately. The adoption fee is $600.00 for Biscuit and Dixie together. Biscuit is a loving, sweet, and smart little boy who deserves only the best home and family! If you feel that you would like to add Biscuit (or Biscuit and Dixie together) to your family, please submit an application at: https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ (copy and paste). Forever Home Canine Rescue offers a three-week trial period with all of our adoptions, just to be sure that the pet is a good match for the adopting family. The fee is refunded if the adoption does not work out within the trial period. We want to be sure that each of our pets will have their perfect 'forever' home! Although Forever Home Canine Rescue adopts out-of-state, we never ship or transport our pets. An approved adopter must come to North Carolina to meet their new canine companion and then take him/her back home with them.

After we receive your application and review it, we will contact you. Thank you! Deana is a sweet 13-lb. girl who came to us as a stray from Animal Control and who is in need of a forever home. She's a young girl, probably about 2-years old, and probably a Poodle mix since her coat is very wavy. In her foster home, Deana interacts well with the other dogs, both big and small. She is housetrained, but is not a fan of being in a crate, even though she sleeps in a crate at her foster home. A family who will spend lots of quality time with Deana, keep her well socialized and active, and take her on plenty of long walks would be perfect for this wonderful little girl. She generally get carsick when she rides in a car, so a family who does not do much traveling will be best for her. . Deana is spayed, microchipped, current on her Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations, and tested negative for Heartworms. After we receive your application and review it, we will contact you. Thank you! Zoey is a sweet 11-lb. Chug (a Chihuahua/Pug mix) who is in need of her forever home. She's a senior girl, but you would never guess it from the energy she has... her foster mom takes her for 1-mile long walks most days, and Zoey leads the way! In her foster home Zoey coexists well with her canine 'brother'. She would do well in almost any family, either with another dog or as an 'only dog', as long as she has human companionship during the day. Zoey is well housetrained and her foster mom takes her out on a regular schedule to 'potty'. She currently sleeps with her foster mom, and we're sure she would enjoy continuing to share her new guardian's 'big bed'. Zoey is a very healthy little girl and has been spayed, microchipped, has received a dental cleaning and bloodwork. She is current on her Distemper/Parvo and Rabies vaccinations, and tested negative for heartworms. She is on Heartgard Plus for Heartworm prevention and Nexgard for flea and tick prevention. After we receive your application and review it, we will contact you. Thank you! Bruno is an adorable 9-month old, 27-lb. French Bulldog who is looking for his forever home because of his previous owner's health issues. He is a very active and playful pup with a beautiful and unusual blue brindle coat. Being a young boy, he needs plenty of toys, especially chew toys, to keep him busy. We are looking for a very special home for this little guy... a home with another young and playful dog, with someone home most of the day, and with a fenced yard. Bruno is a social butterfly and loves everyone,,, adults, children, other dogs, and even cats! He walks well on a leash, but because of his breed, shouldn't go for long walks during our hot weather. In his foster home, Bruno is fairly well housetrained, but still needs monitoring and should be taken out on a schedule. He is comfortable in a crate and sleeps quietly in his crate at night. Bruno is current on his Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations, and is on Heartworm prevention. He will be neutered and microchipped on Wednesday, July 3rd, Bruno's adoption fee is $700.00. Bruno is a loving, sweet, and smart pup who deserves only the best home and family! In her foster home, Dixie gets along well with all the other resident dogs, both big and small. We don't know about cats, but since she's so laid-back we're pretty certain she would be fine with cats. She is housetrained and crate trained. She can do 'her business' while on a leash since her first foster home didn't have a fenced yard. Dixie sleeps quietly in a crate at night without any complaints, but we know she'd love to snuggle with her new guardian in their 'big bed'! Story
This is a courtesy posting for Cornelius Animal Shelter where a dog named Petunia Grace has been living for over one year since her owner died. She was 8 years old last August and is currently about 45 pounds. Petunia is mostly black with white markings on her chest. She does need to be an only dog and likes a quiet home with no kids. Petunia Grace likes to bond with one or two people. Some of her favorite things to do are snuggling on a couch or going for a car ride! She only has one medical issue and that is she’s allergic to chicken dog food. Petunia Grace doesn’t bark for no reason but if someone she doesn’t trust approaches your/her territory, then she is an excellent guard dog who will alert you and scare people away. If you are interested in meeting Petunia and possibly adopting her, please call Cornelius Animal Shelter at 704-237-3602 to make an appointment since they have limited hours. The shelter is located at 19110 Meridian St., Cornelius, NC 28031 (which is right off Catawba Avenue in Cornelius – Exit 28 – I-77)
