Story
Hello. I found Max 6 months ago on PetFinder. He lived in Louisiana and was brought to me thru a pet transit company. He jumped out of the van into my arms, and I fell in love. Max is very loveable, funny and full of energy. My problem is the chemistry between my other dog, Bowie. They cuddle often but they also fight and one day, one of them might get hurt. Max is potty trained and is a great cuddler in bed, should you wish to sleep with your critter. He will make you laugh and entertain you with his endless antics. He is up to date on all his shots, on heart worm medicine (Interceptor Plus), chases after balls, has a slight hop in his back leg which the Vet is not concerned about, and overall, in very good health. He is not a barker but if he hears a sound outside in the middle of the night, he will bark. I have a collar, leash and harness for him as well as a 3 month supply of heartworm medicine. His Vet is Capeside Animal Hospital.

Story
Blue, is a very loving active dog. He was born May 13,2022 liter of 7. He was originally surrender to the Humane Society. He has been DNA tested and is 100% American Staffordshire Terrier. If you want someone to snuggle he is your dog. He loves the water and will fetch a ball until he cant breath. He knows basic commands (sit, stay, shake, wait) very easy with taking treats. We have been working on walking on a leash. Needs more time. He has never shown any signs of aggression. He is allergic to Chicken can not eat anything with Chicken or Chicken by-products. Has no issues with going to the vet or having his nails cut. Blue does have a lot of doggy friends he plays with. He loves to chase a squirrels. He has never been around cats so not sure how that will go. He has been crate trained and Electric Fence trained. Currently not using the Crate. If you need a real loving companion that still needs a little training he is your guy. I am very sad that I have to re-home my baby.

Story
Parker is a spunky, energetic and playful boy. He is incredibly smart and very fast. We think he is about 4.5 years old. Parker came to us from a shelter which was unable to provide any information about the first year of his life. Parker loves to be outside. He enjoys chasing a ball and also taking naps in the sun. He is crate and leash trained. Parker has enormous energy and requires daily exercise to channel his energy.  Parker doesn’t do well with children because of their high level of activity and noise.  He does have a very high prey drive, like a lot of shepherds.  Parker likes quiet, order and routine so an adult-only home is a must for him. Parker lived in a home with a cat for two years and though the two were not friendly, they lived together peacefully. Parker would prefer to be the king of his castle and an only dog.  He has interacted with many other dogs without incident.  However, he can become  uncomfortable meeting new dogs or people while on leash or otherwise restrained (in crate, behind gate, etc).  Parker will do best where he has space to enjoy outdoors and plenty of attention from his people. A secure fenced in yard is a must.  Parker needs an experienced handler to help guide him.  Parker would love a family of his own so he can give them love and loyalty.   Parker’s rabies vaccine is good through March 2025. He has had regular veterinary care and is neutered and microchipped.  If you are an experienced German shepherd home that wants a loyal and loving companion to share your life with, please contact BMSR1313@gmail.com for more information.  THIS IS A COURTESY POST.  Blue Moon Shepherd Rescue only adopts to applicants in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.  If you are interested in being considered to adopt this dog, please fill out an online application by clicking here.   October 27, 2024, 3:08 pm

Story
This is Gabriel (we all call him "Gabe"), and he's a gorgeous 3-year-old long haired German shepherd.   We believe that all German Shepherds are beautiful, but there's something more about Gabe. If he were a person, we'd call it "star quality." Gabe doesn't just come into a room, he makes an entrance. His enthusiasm, exuberance, and ability to connect with people -- his charisma -- make him an extra special dog. It's as if he's aways saying "look at me," and most people do.   Like most long haired shepherds, Gabe is high energy. When he plays ball, it's as if he's a professional outfielder. When he interacts with the rest of the pack, he's a social butterfly, running and playing like an Alpha, but backing down when he's put in his place. And when interacting with humans, he seems to know what you're thinking even before you do. He stares into your eyes and, it seems, into your soul. He wants that one-on-one bond and loves the closeness and reassurance of being touched and petted.   Gabe came to us several weeks ago, after a kind stranger found him on the backroads of North Carolina. She knew that he would need an experienced rescue to take him. Once we met Gabe, we couldn't say no. In that short time, he has settled nicely into the pack without major confrontations. At the same time, it became clear that Gabe became reactive when he's on his leash and sees another dog (or deer!). We don't know what has happed to him in the past, but we assume that he may have been attacked by another dog at some point.   Gabe has been working with a trainer on this issue and has been making progress. Now, when he sees a deer, he just puffs up and goes about his business after a firm "leave it." He's even learned to tolerate the outdoor cat! We know he'll continue to improve with additional training.    Gabe needs a secure fenced yard and no young children (under 16). He'd be great as an only dog, or with a female companion who can match his energy but put him in check when needed. Most of all, he needs an experienced handler who understands German shepherds and can continue his training with his dog reactivity on leash.   If you're looking for a "show stopping" shepherd, and are willing to put in the time, patience, and love, this Marlon Brando of a pup will definitely win your heart.   Gabe is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, on monthly heart worm preventative, crate train, obedience trained and walks well on a leash.  If you are interested in this very stunning special boy, you can contact Donna at BMSR1313@gmail.com or fill out an online application at Click to apply  Blue Moon Shepherd Rescue only adopts to applicants in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.  If you are interested in being considered to adopt this dog, please fill out an online application by clicking here.   January 6, 2025, 10:56 pm

Story
Meet Indy Anna (Jones) a three year old working line sable German Shepherd.  Indy Anna definitely lives up to her name - she’s always ready for adventure.  She has never met a dog or person she doesn’t want to make friends with.  Indy loves going to daycare to hang out with her friends and her report cards always say she is:  ‘a social butterfly, friendly, playful, energetic, happy and outgoing.’  Indy is obedience trained and loves car rides.     Indy has the most amazing temperament and personality.  She has helped socialize, train and work with so many foster dogs, helping to bring them out of their shell and build confidence.  You just can’t have a bad day with Indy around.  If you are looking for a great companion to go places and do things with, this is your girl.     Everyone who meets her falls in love with this very sweet girl.  She is currently living with her foster pack of several German shepherds and she is always having fun and playing.   Indy would love a companion dog to share adventures with.  She is playful but doesn’t like rough play - more a ‘run and chase’ play style.  Although, highly dog social, she wants to be with her people. She is very energetic, as most working lines, and needs exercise and mental stimulation but after a good workout, she will settle and enjoy her toys and bones. We don’t recommend her with children under 16 because of her exuberant energy.  She does love all dogs but does better with medium and larger dogs as she does have a high prey drive.  Indy would be a great sport dog.   Indy is a spayed, up to date on vaccines and on monthly heart worm preventative.  She is obedience, leash and crate trained.  If you are interested in this very special girl you can contact Donna at BMSR1313@gmail.com with questions or fill out an online application at Click to apply Meet Indy Anna (Jones) a three year old working line sable German Shepherd.  Indy Anna definitely lives up to her name - she’s always ready for adventure.  She has never met a dog or person she doesn’t love. You just can’t have a bad day with her around. Although, highly dog social, she  loves to be with her people.
