Story
Meet Louie, a charming 11-month-old pup with a heartwarming story. Despite a challenging start to life, Louie is brimming with enthusiasm and a zest for living. His handsome looks are matched by his vibrant personality. he is the best guy!Currently, Louie is diligently working on his leash manners, and his love for food makes training sessions a joy. With his food motivation, teaching him new commands promises to be smooth sailing. In terms of socialization, Louie shows potential with female dogs, although he may need some time and gentle encouragement to feel comfortable around male dogs. Patience and consistent positive reinforcement will undoubtedly help him blossom and open his heart to everyone he meets.Louie has already mastered the "sit" command and is currently learning not to jump up and how to control his vocalizations. He has a knack for letting you know when he feels left out, showing his communicative nature and desire to be involved.Regarding cats, we are unsure how Louie would react, so a home without cats might be best initially. Louie thrives on attention and may do well in a household where he can be the centre of your world. We do know that he loves spending time with well matched dogs! Story
Introducing Selena, a shy yet sweet-natured pup who's looking for a patient and understanding family to call her own. While she may be timid around new people and situations, Selena's loving heart and playful spirit shine brightly once she feels safe and secure. She is also a cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to curl up next to you on the couch. Selena requires guidance with leash training, house training, and manners. While she may need extra patience and understanding due to her shyness, Selena is eager to learn and please her adoptive family. Consistent training and positive reinforcement techniques will help her build confidence and become a well-behaved companion. We recommend slow introductions and supervised interactions to help Selena develop positive relationships with new dogs and build her confidence while other pups are around. She would not be best suited for a home with other canine friends. Selena may be nervous around new people and situations, requiring slow introductions. While she may eventually warm up to new friends, Selena's shy nature makes her best suited for a home without young children. With patience and understanding, Selena will gradually overcome her fears and form deep bonds with her adoptive family. The first step to take me home and meet me is to fill out the application below!Dog adoption meets are by appointment only and may not be accommodated on a walk in basis. https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-abbotsford/ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 39.1 Age: 1yrs 6mths 2wks

Story
This sweet boy Arlo was brought in with a very bad tail injury and was rushed to the vet for immediate emergency care. Upon arrival at the emergency vet, it was clear to the medical team that his tail required amputation. Arlo had surgery that day to remove the extremely damaged tail so he could live pain-free. With routine pain medication, Arlo is now focused on healing. Despite his discomfort, Arlo enjoys resting in the shelter office with staff nearby. He can be a little shy at first but quickly warms up to you and loves gentle ear scratches and tasty treats. He is great with other dogs and walks fairly well on leash. He is not scared of bicycles or people while on walks and has met dogs big and small without issue. He would love his new family to work with him on continued training and shower him with lots of love. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 21 Age: 1yrs 0mths 1wks
