Story
Keisha – 37 lbs, 3 year old Shepherd cross is looking for a home. Keisha is a super sweet and smart girl, and sweetheart to the volunteers who visit her at the SPCA PV sanctuary. Keisha was found in the hills around Puerto Vallarta tied up, hungry, trying to care for and protect her 6 young pups. After her rescue the SPCA PV learned that Keisha is blind from being poisoned. Despite this tough early life, Keisha is very sweet and friendly with humans and dogs (she is even ok being carried). On her walks she doesn't pull and likes to sniff a lot (her nose is her eyes). Keisha is spayed, vaccinated, healthy, and now has a full belly every day, which makes her very happy. She'd love to make up for a tough early start with a warm loving home. If interested, please email pvcaadoptions@gmail.com and tell us a little about yourself.

QUACK QUACK!!Wait... Do dogs quack? Well maybe not... but we have QUACK-TASTIC NEWS! The ultimate "wingman" Duck is ready to flap his doggy wings and have a quacking good time with you by his side! How Quack-tacular!Duck here came to us after his owners life changed drastically, leaving him with the tough choice to find Duck some new digs. Duck originated from the USA originally, having spent time previously in the shelter system, and hopes this will be his last time in one. He does have some skin allergies that make him a little pink, and will need a home willing to help him out on this!Duck is very loyal and loving with his person, and would rather spend his days with you by his side than doing anything else! He is the definition of "mans best friend" and wants nothing more than to show off his fabulous energy to his humans. He gets the craziest zoomies, and LOVES to play around his yard, tossing toys and bouncing like a little bunny! He gets the cutest wiggle when you tell him how handsome he is, and is sure to fill that empty couch space up with ease!Duck loves his humans, however is a little unsure of new people at times and appreciates a gentle approach with lots of Positive Reinforcement! Once he knows his new friends, its all fun for Duck! Duck does struggle with reactivity towards other animals, and is working super hard on this. He will do best with a guardian who can offer him a gentle lead and show him the ropes with redirection and repetition! Put in an application today if Duck sounds like the fit for you! Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 29.7 Age: 4yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
Say hello to Baymax!Similar to his cartoon counter part, this big fella is a sweet squishy love bug! Baymax is such a calm sweet boy with so much joy and love to offer his new guardians. From what we have seen, this fella has some nerves he's working really hard on tackling, and can find new situations scary. He is grateful for time and space to experience new events. He loves his people once he knows you, but is fearful of new visitors and will run to get away! He is just unsure and will flatten himself to the ground while he assesses his comfort level and watches you. With reassuring words and yummy snacks, this boy comes around from his safe spot and gains confidence with more frequency! He LOVES to play ball, and he quickly sheds any anxieties he has when playing and keeping his brain busy. In the past he has gone long periods alone at home, and really benefits from lots of mental and physical stimulation. He would love an active home to keep him busy and help expose him to more!Baymax does have some leash reactivity, and craves a home to help him navigate this with Positive Reinforcement! He does well with some dogs off leash, but does excitedly approach others and may need to learn that not all dog friends enjoy that big of a greeting! He would be best with someone who can help him on his training and let him be his very best self! We know he can have doggie friends and just needs the right person to guide him! Baymax would be best as the only dog living in the home however while he works on this!If you are interested in Baymax, apply below! Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 55.3 Age: 2yrs 3mths 4wks

Story
We adopted Chase locally about four years ago from his owner who was dying from cancer and wanted a couple who would continue loving and caring for him the way she had. At the age of eight, he is very healthy, well-trained, and has good recall when off leash on back country trails. Our friends and neighbours love his affectionate nature and friendly interactions with other dogs. He is, though, unpredicable around huskies and unneutered adult males. Twice, my wife who has developed some heath issues, couldn't hold him. No physical harm was done to any of the dogs, but my wife will no longer walk him. I'm almost 80, have developed a bad back and find I can't give him the long walks I once did. He needs a younger, stronger couple who are looking for an active dog who would adore them the way he does us.

Story
Meet Owen!Owen came into care as a stray with no ID, after evading good Samaritans who were trying to catch him for days! We have no idea about Owen's past history, or why we was so elusive and fearful before he was captured. He has settled into shelter life, he has warmed up nicely with staff and is gaining confidence going on a leashed walks in the mornings. Because we don't know his history, we think he would be best suited to an adult only home. Owen is looking for a stable, grounded, and calm family to enjoy these long summer days with.Owen SB# 593600PLEASE NOTE: This dog is located on the Sunshine Coast and travel via BC Ferries is required to adopt.
