Story
Jack is a 3 year old long haired chihuahua. He has a big personality and likes to be the center of attention. He would do well with another small dog in the house, as he loves his current dog siblings. He does not like dogs outside of his family. I'm hoping to find this little boy a loving home, where he can be adored.

Story
Sweet little Dyson and her siblings came into our care due to an unfortunate circumstance of neglect. They were emaciated, malnourished and under-socialized. After some much needed TLC, the sisters grew in size and confidence. Her sisters have all found their furever homes, while Dyson still awaits hers. Dyson and her siblings got their unique vacuum names because they acted like little hungry hippos, trying to eat everything in sight - including things that were not edible. Dyson has slowly grown out of that behaviour but will require monitoring while she settles into a new home and routine. During her time in foster, Dyson has had the opportunity to experience "normal" dog life. Having access to an unlimited number of stuffed animals and going for hikes. Dyson is currently in foster with a dog and 2 cats. She would benefit from having a friendly canine companion in the home to help her gain confidence. Dyson is going to take time to warm up to her new person and feels most comfortable around women. Dyson would do best in a quiet home with someone who has the patience to show her that the world is not a scary place. If you are ready to welcome a snoring angel into your home and heart, please submit an application online or contact the shelter 250-493-0136 for further information. Story
Meet Poco, a resilient young dog who has overcome the odds and is ready to embark on a new chapter in life. Poco's journey began in a hoarding situation, where she faced adversity but has shown remarkable strength and resilience. Before entering the shelter, Poco had a litter of puppies, highlighting her nurturing nature and maternal instincts. Despite her past experiences, Poco is now ready to focus on herself and find a loving forever home where she can receive the care and attention she deserves. One aspect to consider is Poco's reactivity towards strangers. This behavior may stem from fear or uncertainty due to her past experiences and will require patience and understanding from her new family. With time, positive reinforcement training, and gradual exposure to new people, Poco can learn to feel more comfortable and secure in social situations.Potential adopters for Poco should be prepared to provide a supportive and patient environment where she can continue to heal and build trust at her own pace. A quiet household with experienced dog owners who can provide structure, routine, and gentle guidance would be ideal for Poco.Despite her past challenges, Poco's resilience and gentle nature shine through, making her a wonderful companion for the right family. With patience, love, and dedicated care, Poco is sure to thrive and bring endless joy to her forever home. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 31.6 Age: 2yrs 1mths 3wks

Story
Apollo is a handsome and sweet boy looking for his forever home! This lovely gentle giant has spent his life until now on a large property with many other animals. Apollo needs to be introduced to new dogs, and might not be suitable for dog parks or off leash areas. Apollo loves to meet people and is very affectionate. He doesn't know his own size and is still learning that not everyone wants to be jumped on! Apollo loves to play and bounce around like an oversized puppy. Apollo has some mild hip dysplasia, common in large breed dogs. His future guardian should be mindful of this and monitor his mobility long term should he require some pain management down the road. If you think this special boy is the one for your family, please submit an adoption application to penticton@spca.bc.ca Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Cream Weight: 56.2 Age: 1yrs 10mths 2wks

Story
Grey is a charming and incredibly goofy young dog who is overflowing with love and enthusiasm. With his playful and fun-loving personality, Grey still retains many of his puppy mannerisms, making him an absolute delight to be around. He's eager to learn and would benefit from ongoing training in basic things like sit, stay, and lay down. While Grey may be a bit selective with other dogs, he seems to have a soft spot for female canine companions. His preference for the ladies suggests he could potentially thrive in a home where he can be the center of attention or paired with a compatible female dog.Above all, Grey is a sweet boy who craves affection and companionship. He simply wants to be loved and cherished by a family who appreciates his playful antics and goofy charm.Grey would thrive in a home that can match his energy levels and love for outdoor adventures. Long hikes and active outings would be ideal for Grey, allowing him to burn off energy while exploring new sights and smells. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a lovable goofball who promises endless laughter and joy, Grey could be the perfect addition to your family. Story
Tinkerbell is a sensitive soul who came to us from Animal Control. This sweet baby was left behind in a dog park after being brought to Canada from an external rescue. Unfortunately we have no information about Tinkerbell's past, so we don't know what kind of life she had to live before coming here. We do know she has some behaviour issues which will require lifelong management to help her become a confident dog. Tinkerbell tends to be fearful, especially in new situations and meeting new people. Once Tinkie has met you, she warms up pretty quickly. She's quite food motivated and absolutely loves to play and run. Tink can be reactive with other dogs, and we are looking for a pet-free home for her. This beauty needs to be your one and only! Tink loves to snuggle, give kisses, and play with toys. She would enjoy adventures at her own pace, and her future guardian should be willing and able to explore new things at a rate that is comfortable for her. Tink responds amazingly well to positive reinforcement, Humane training techniques. We highly suggest that her future human takes time to engage with an AnimalKind trainer to help set Tinkie up for success. Are you looking for a best friend, constant companion, professional snuggler and zoomie-holic? Tinkie might just be your girl! Primary Color: Brown Weight: 18 Age: 2yrs 0mths 4wks
