Story
Meet Mufasa, a playful 3-year-old Havanese looking for his new home! Mufasa may be a little nervous around strangers, but once he gets to know you, he’s a friendly and silly companion. Mufasa is sensitive when it comes to veterinary visits and grooming, so he’ll need a gentle, patient hand and an owner that will be an advocate for him. He is crate trained and has a great history living with cats! Mufasa could potentially go to a home with older children, but because of his handling sensitivity no young kids for this little guy.If you think this dog could be a good match for you and would like to learn more, stop by our Cape Cod Adoption Center to speak with our staff about her. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 1pm-4pm – no appointment or application needed. Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

Story
Who is this regal looking pup? This is Reina, and she`s looking to find her furever home! Reina may be 3 years old, but still has a lot to learn about being an upstanding canine citizen! Reina would love some help working on her manners, she loves positive reinforcement training and could do really well with a family that is just as excited to train as she is. Reina would do best in a quiet, calm environment to help her come out of her shell, as she tends to get stressed and overwhelmed in new situations. Reina is young and athletic, and has known to LOVE playing with her tennis balls and getting zoomies. Reina would love a patient adopter that can take things at her pace, and she will reward them with lots of snuggles! If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Cape Cod Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 1pm-4pm no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. For more information on our adoption process, please visit https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Story
Khanie is a beautiful and unique blend of Husky and Jindo who is searching for her new home! While she may be a bit shy when meeting new people, once Khanie gets to know you, her playful and silly personality shines through. She loves to engage in fun and energetic play sessions once she feels comfortable and secure in her environment. This sensitive girl seems to thrive in the company of other dogs, enjoying their companionship and the opportunity to socialize and play. Khanie`s playful nature truly blossoms when she has a furry friend by her side, and would likely benefit living with a confident helper dog pending a slow introduction. For families interested in adopting Khanie, it is important to note that kids in the household should be old enough to understand and respect her boundaries. Khanie appreciates those who can read her body language and give her space when needed, especially when she has her favorite toys or snacks. If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Cape Cod Adoption Center. Story
Meet Rumble, an Anatolian Shepherd pup whose heart is as big as his size! Rumble has been pretty nervous with new people and situations while at the shelter, so he would love to go home with adopters that are willing to take things slow and go at his own pace. He has only ever lived outdoors, so he`ll need plenty of time and patience while he adjusts to indoor living! He has lived around cats before, and could go home with a dog-savvy cat with a slow introduction. If you`re patient, loving, and ready to give this sweet boy the time and care he needs to settle in, he`d love to be a part of your home!If you think this dog could be a good match for you and would like to learn more, stop by our Cape Cod Adoption Center to speak with our staff about him. Story
Ellen is a small breed dog looking for a home to call her own. They are one of the dogs from the large surrender we took recently and although they are doing well in a foster home, we are still getting to know them. Due to their abnormal history, the dogs from this home are a mix of nervous and outgoing, but all of them are going to need a patient adopter who can help them get comfortable around new people and situations. Dogs from this surrender will need families committed to helping them settle in at their own pace and learn normal dog behaviors. ***This dog is currently in a foster home and we are working to finish up ther medical care for adoption. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please come to the Cape shelter during open hours to speak with a staff member. If a match is found, we will schedule a time for Ellen to return to the shelter from her foster home*** Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog thats a good match! To learn more about how to make the first few weeks with your new dog or puppy the most successful it can be, please visit http://www.mspca.org/petresources.

Story
Meet Cali! This 8-year-old sweet pittie girl has some medical needs, like chronic skin concerns and allergies—so she`s looking for an adopter with a solid vet relationship and the dedication to help her get her glow-up. Cali’s a little shy at first, but once she knows you, she’s all about those belly rubs (and will gladly use your body as a scratching post to get the perfect scratch!). She walks like a pro on the leash but also loves some quality lazy time (the best of both worlds!). Cali could go home with a mellow dog who’s not too interested in her things (since she doesn`t love to share), or kids. If you’re ready to spoil Cali with love (and some extra skin care), she’ll return the favor with endless snuggles! If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Cape Cod Adoption Center.
