Story
Fish has been in three different homes due to unfortunate living circumstances of the pet parents. Fish needs a loving, steady home where he can keep his feet on the ground for a long time. He is nervous around big male dogs as he was attacked by one. He is the sweetest boy with a kind heart and a playful disposition! Tug of war and running are his favorite activities.

Story
We got Winston from a husky breeder. He is 50% husky and 50% mountain cur. His parents are both 90 lbs so we expected him to be bigger but he is now 5 years old (6 in May) and he’s only 38 lbs. He is the most LOVABLE dog. He enjoys when people visit, loves to be pet, running outside, and playing fetch. Unfortunately though, he’s always been a little skiddish around doors, gates, boxes and likes to be pet a certain way. We have two young kids and one was standing at a baby gate with Winston and Winston got scared for whatever reason and bit our child. He didn’t break skin, but unfortunately our kids are now afraid of him. He would be an AMAZING dog for a home without kids, on a farm where he can run, or as a hunting dog. He really is a good boy and we don’t want to rehome him, but our kids come first. He is good with our other dog; but we are unsure about other animals.

Story
I have two dogs as you can see from the pictures, one male and one female. I'm an older man recently widowed and just can't handle them. They have way too much energy for me. They're good dogs just a bit too energetic. They were trained on pee pads when we got them and I've just not been able to break them from that. I really would like them to stay together as they have never been separated since birth. I just really hope I can find them a good loving home. They are going to be two years old in April

Story
Fostered in SE Michigan 72 pounds Approximately 3 years old Fenced yard required This handsome boy is ready for his forever home where he can settle in and get all the love and attention he deserves. Pauly was found as a stray and spent some time with animal control until he was liberated by CRGI. This charming boy has a gentle disposition and a heart full of love. Pauly is a true snuggle bug. He thrives on being close to his people. He enjoys playing fetch although he might need a little reminder to bring the ball back! He loves balls, stuffed animals, and chew sticks. At times he has bursts of energy, especially when welcoming guests into the home. Pauly knows several commands including sit and shake, and he has good recall. He walks well on a leash; however, he does get very excited when he sees other dogs and people. He just wants to make new friends! He's smart and can be redirected with treats. His foster family is working on this with him. He gets along well with his Golden Retriever foster brother and other dogs. However, he chases cats, so a feline free household is a must. Pauly needs a home where his new family will give him time to settle and relax. He is very trainable, and food motivated. A family that understands his need for closeness and can provide him with the comfort and stability he craves would be perfect. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, Pauly could be the perfect addition to your home. Give this sweet boy a chance, and he'll reward you with endless affection and devotion.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Poppy is a young, sweet-and-spicy terrier mix with springs for legs, a brilliant little mind, and a heart ready to find her forever family! This spunky pup had a rough start—originally found as a skinny, flea-ridden stray. After being cleaned up and rehomed by her finder, she was returned shortly after. It turns out puppies are a lot of work… who knew!? Thankfully, Poppy found her way to us. Since coming to House of Hounds at about 5 months old, we’ve learned some wonderful things about her: Cats: She does great with cats and respects their boundaries. Dogs: She loves other dogs, especially the small dog in her foster home. She’s still gaining confidence playing with larger dogs but has taken a liking to following the adult female pitty in her foster home and copying her every move. While Poppy isn’t dog-aggressive, she’s confident and doesn’t hesitate to correct rough play, so her foster mom feels a home with male dogs or submissive females will be the best long-term fit. Kids: Poppy currently lives with 2- and 3-year-old humans and loves them dearly. She’s still a puppy, though, and is learning not to jump on them. Poppy is high-energy and very smart, which means she’ll thrive in an active home that provides plenty of physical and mental stimulation. Training will be a must, but she’s a quick learner! For instance, she potty-trained very quickly, though the recent bitter cold set her back briefly. (Who can blame her? Pooping in 12 degrees is no one’s idea of fun.) Health Update: Poppy had her first vet visit and is scheduled to be spayed on January 3rd. She’s healthy, happy, and ready for meet-and-greets now! If you’re looking for a dog who is active, intelligent, and friendly with cats, dogs, and kids, Poppy may be your perfect match.
