Story
Honey is 7 years old. she's about 65 lbs. Honey recently graduated "CHILL!" For reactive dogs class at Cold Nose Companions. She's kind of a loud mouth but, means no harm. She uses a Halti head harness for walking and does awesome! She's currently in a foster home with other dogs and does well. She gets along with more dogs than not. She tends to be dominant so, calm, submissive dogs are best. She loves to play with other dogs as long as it's the right fit for her. She especially loves puppies. No cats. She knows a ton of commands and is housebroken. She's very smart. She's crate trained but, does not need a crate. She loves her toys and car rides. She is very affectionate and loving with her people. Honey is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. Adoption fee: $350 Apply at www.onek9.net

Story
Brinkley is a wonderful pet loves people and children Although he’s about 6 yrs old plays like a puppy. Completely house and crate training He never has damaged anything in our home and doesn’t get on furniture not even to look out the window. With that Brinkley is very aggressive to other dogs and cats. He walks well on leash until he sees another dog. We spent 6 weeks with a trainer he got much better with his leash manners but not with other dogs I had him on a quick release sprenger prong collar for training. I live in a condo community with lots of dog owners. It has become a concern because he lunges and pulls towards other dogs and cats. I would like to get him a home where he is the only pet and a yard so can sometimes just run and be a dog.

Story
** Must be in a home with other dogs. No exceptions. ** ** Spudz (0010-S) is her best friend, and they are very close together for those who may be looking to add two dogs into their home. We would love for them to stick together.** Sweet little Mia came from Alabama after finding herself abandoned and alone. We found her sitting in the kennels alone after being listed for euthanization due to the shelter lacking resources (among all the other animals). Would not let anyone approach her by attempting to run off but, once she's in your arms, she just wants to snuggle... for a moment, anyways. We learned she was an Owner Surrender at the ETOWAH County Shelter for Unspecified Reasons. Mia was surrendered in questionable conditions. Mia has always been quiet among the chaos and despite being through a lot, she has made a lot of progress in opening up, with dogs in the home being the #1 influence. Otherwise, she's very independent and paces around the home trying to avoid people. Eye contact is too much for her on the first few days, but if you look away, she'll follow you. Sometimes you can't help but "awe" at her shyness. It has its own charms. This girl needs a home with patience and allows her to just have her own space without giving her "too" much to prevent separation anxiety building up - unless her adopters are retired or consistently home, frequently. She likes to sleep at the bottom of the bed or next to your pillow. When you're doing something, she's curious as to what you're doing by looking at you around the corner, but you have to pretend you don't see her, of course. When she's with other dogs, she's a lot livelier and wants to engage with them. However, we don't think she's ever had toys and has to watch other dogs play first. Recently, she learned how fun running around a yard can be. Mia has also become more engaging to the home environment and the people there.

Story
(Neuter Scheduled June 18th) Meet Jack! Jack is a sweet tree walker coonhound. He was found wandering the streets of West Virginia and landed himself in a kill shelter. The vet there aged him at 6, but his foster mom thinks he may be closer to 3 or 4 years old. Luckily Jack was pulled by a rescue and now has a real chance at living the good life. He is currently learning the ropes of being a house dog. He loves to snuggle with his foster mom and can’t get enough playtime with the resident dogs in the home. Jack loves toys and has only barked at his foster siblings when he occasionally doesn’t feel like sharing. Jack is doing very well at crate training. He sleeps through the night and hasn’t had any accidents in his crate. We are still getting the hang of house training, being an unaltered male the urge to mark is there, but accidents have been minimal. We are hoping with his scheduled neuter appointment in June that potty training will get easier. Jack does have a wonky front leg, believed to be an old break that went untreated and did not heal correctly. He is on joint supplements to help with any arthritis. Jack still gets around well, and when he runs you can’t even tell he has a little disability. Jack is still new to walking on a leash, but seems to enjoy it. He has yet to meet a stranger he doesn’t like! With lots of love, patience, and a little training Jack will surely be the bright spot in someone’s day. A house really isn’t a home without a hound, and Jack would really love a family to call his very own.
