Story
Are you a cat lover but would like to try out something new, like a dog!? If so, Dorver is perfect for you! Not only does he have delightfully short cat ears and a long tail, but he also enjoys curling up in laps for kisses. He has been introduced to other dogs in our playgroups and would do best as an only pet or in a home with a low energy dog of similar size. We do not recommend him in a home with smaller critters. Due to how nervous he can be around new things; we would not suggest he live with children under the age of 12. Come on down for some Dorver kisses and see if he would be a good fit for you!

Story
Patience is a 3-year-old Bulldog mix who is equal parts energy and affection. This lovable girl is looking for a home that will not only meet her high energy needs but also help her build confidence as she navigates her fears. Despite her name, Patience is a bit of a scaredy-cat at heart, and many of her behaviors stem from fear. Her ideal family will take the time to understand her, help her feel safe, and provide the structure and consistency she thrives on. Patience recently went though a training program with Miracle K9 training and comes with follow up training for her new adopter. Here’s why Patience`s foster mom thinks she will make a wonderful companion: Housebroken and Crate Trained: She’s got the basics down! Patience is fully housebroken and feels comfortable in a crate or crated area.Great Routine Buddy: She loves having a routine and would do well with a family committed to training and creating structure.Chill at Home: While she has lots of energy outdoors, she also knows how to relax. She’s happy to snooze in the mornings or lounge on the couch while her person works.Ultimate Lovebug: Patience adores snuggling in bed or curling up on the couch and doesn’t mind acting like a lapdog – tail wagging all the way!Respectful of the Home: She doesn’t get into things she shouldn’t, with the exception of sneaking into trash cans without lids (watch out for those tissues!).The ideal home for Patience is an active and committed adopter. She’d thrive with an active person or family who can meet her energy needs through walks, playtime, or a fenced yard where she can zoom around.A patient adopter willing to help her navigate her fears and triggers; while giving her time to settle into her new home (she typically adjusts around week two). While she hasn’t been around children, her energy level and size might be better suited to homes with older kids or adults. Patience is a truly wonderful dog who just needs the right environment to flourish. She’s been doing amazing in her current foster home, and her foster highly recommends a foster-to-adopt arrangement to ensure the right fit. Story
Meet Revere, a 5-year-old Boxer/Terrie mix who’s ready to charm his way into your heart with his lovable quirks and resilience. Revere’s journey to us began after a summer thunderstorm, leaving him in need of medical care. Underweight and nursing a fractured right rear leg, this courageous adventurer has proven himself to be a fighter with a goofy grin that’s impossible to resist. Revere also sports a distinctive head tilt, which has been diagnosed as idiopathic meaning its exact cause remains a mystery. Despite extensive testing ruling out common issues like ear infections and vestibular disease, this adorable tilt has become Revere’s signature look. It doesn’t slow him down one bit; instead, it only adds to his charm! He may not look like your average dog due to his special needs, but this spirited guy takes it all in stride and is one of the happiest dogs in our care! Revere’s ideal home will be one that understands his unique needs. His medical conditions may require ongoing care, and we’re happy to discuss his journey in detail with you. He’s an affectionate, people-loving pup who thrives on attention and praise. While his heart is big, his social skills with other dogs aren’t quite there yet, so Revere will need to be the only pet in the home. This leggy, slanty walker is ready to share his zest for life with a family that will embrace his quirks and provide him the love and care he deserves. Are you ready to give Revere his happily ever after? Reach out to us to learn more about this one-of-a-kind guy! Please note Revere resides in a foster home and is not available for same day meet and greets. If interested in learning more about Revere or scheduling a meet and greet, please contact the foster team at foster@cuyahogacounty.gov today!

Story
Meet our mama Sunflower! Sunflower arrived to us some months ago, very pregnant and ready to pop! She gave birth to some wonderfully, adorable puppies who have all found their forever homes. Now, Sunflower waits for her turn! She has made leaps and bounds on her path to learning her manners and commands. With one treat in your hand, she is ready to be at service! Sunflower does well in our calmer playgroups, enjoying moseying with dogs and nicely playing. She`s not a fan of the wild children who are all up in her business. No one is a stranger to her and she is fast to jump up for affection and lovins. We do recommend Sunflower goes home with older kids as she`s quiet a chunky gal who loves to be physical with her love. If you need sunshine everyday-look no further, this sunflower blooms in all seasons!

Story
Edith is a 9-month-old spayed Pit Bull Terrier with a heart as warm and cozy as her favorite blanket nests. Despite her orthopedic challenges, Edith’s joyful and loving nature shines brightly. She’s ready to find a family who will cherish her sweet personality and provide the care she needs. Edith’s foster family was happy to share what makes her so beloved and special. Edith is a professional blanket-nester. She can’t sleep without a soft blankie and loves curling up by the fire, surrounded by cozy warmth and her favorite people. She is an affectionate companion. Edith has a heart full of love for everyone—dogs, humans, and even toys. She’ll happily dole out kisses and thrives on affection and companionship. Edith enjoys the company of social, gentle, and dainty dog friends and is also great with children. She’s a social butterfly with a gentle demeanor. Her foster family shares that Edith is both potty-trained and crate-trained, making her a great addition to any household. She walks easily on a leash and is an agreeable travel buddy, as long as she has her trusty blanket by her side. Edith is a smart girl who knows her basic commands like sit, come, and lay down. She’s eager to please and ready to continue learning with her new family.Edith has faced significant orthopedic challenges in her young life. Her right rear leg had a previous fracture healed as a malunion, resulting in a right luxating patella (kneecap popping out of place). While Edith uses this leg well, surgery may not be necessary at this time. In her left front leg, she has an angular limb deformity caused by premature growth plate closure and elbow joint incongruency (misaligned joint surfaces). A surgical consultation is strongly recommended to evaluate her options for potential corrective surgery. These injuries may result in long-term issues, including the potential for arthritis, which will require ongoing management. Future surgeries and treatments will be the responsibility of her adopter, so Edith’s medical needs should be carefully considered.Edith would thrive in a home that understands her medical needs and is committed to her care. She’s happiest in a cozy, loving environment where she can snuggle up with her people. A family with gentle, social dogs or kids to share her warmth and playfulness would be ideal If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly companion and are ready to help Edith thrive despite her challenges, she’ll fill your life with unconditiona
