Story
This adorable young gent is Cash!! He is super respectful of people and has a good foundation on basic training. Cash is gentle with his human friends, very attentive to his commands as his focus is on you and willing to please. He is still in the goofy stage of growing up and sometimes has some silly antics. Even when Cash gets excited, he is quick to settle down once he has been asked. Cash has lived with another dog and they get along great. His previous owner was very good at getting him out in the public to meet people and other friends. For the most part, he is good with other dogs but there are some that he can be reactive to and some he can be wary of. We are confident that with proper introductions, some additional training under his chin, and consistent routines that he will be an amazing all-around dog. Cash is super gentle when it comes mealtimes, he will patiently wait until he his food has been set down for him. He is food motivated but also very gentle when taking treats from you. Cash is a big, strong boy and is learning to walk on leash without pulling. As we learn more about Cash, we will update is profile. In the meantime, we are happy to have a conversation with you and answer all the questions you may have. If you are interested in meeting Cash, please send in an application online or stop by our location during open hours Tuesday-Saturday 12-4 pm Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 32.9 Age: 0yrs 8mths 2wks

Story
Carlos is ready to find his new furever home. Carlos is a fun, loving, energetic guy for his age! He LOVES all toys, he enjoys playing tug, oh and he loves his puzzle toys, but of course he does because food is his number 1 favourite. Carlos does love squishy toys, but he will DESTROY them instantly, so if there are squishy toys, Carlos will need to be supervised. He also really enjoys going for walks with his people, he is usually on his best behaviour, but sometimes when he see's something, he feels he may need to chase it to investigate. This guy is on a strict hypo diet as he suffers from allergies, which causes him to lose some hair. Carlos is also on medication for his allergies, but we are hoping one day that we can get him to a very low dose or stop completely. He can be selective with his doggy friends, we recommend for him to be the only dog in his new home. Not suited for a home with cats.If you are interested in Carlos, the first step is the application, or call our branch for more details. Story
Meet Keona! She is a PitBul X Boston Terrier who is 5 months old. She currently lives with her foster parents and her Big brother Watson 150lb mastiff who is teaching her what it is like to live the life of a dog; she enjoys the companionship very much of another dog! She is curious about cats and learning not to chase as much but still is very interested in building a relationship with them. This sweet precious girl suffers from brachycephalic airway syndrome, a condition affecting short-snouted dogs. Keona needs specialized surgery to shorten her soft palate and clear her airway. Pneumonia, common in dogs with this syndrome, has been a challenge for Keona, but antibiotics are helping her recover.Despite her challenges, Keona is full of joy. She's playful, very affectionate, wants to be with you and absolutely loves everyone she meets. This adorable zestful girl deserves to live a happy and healthy life! :)Keona is currently waiting for her pneumonia to clear and is on antibiotics. Once she has healed from this, she will then be able to have her surgeries. She is having soft pallette resection, everted laryngeal saccule correction and her spay. On an approved application Keona will need to go into a foster to adopt home. For more information on her you can reach out to the Parksville-Qualicum branch at Email: parksville@spca.bc.ca or Phone: 250-248-3811. Story
This sweet and spirited young Cane Corso is looking for her forever home! While she may be a bit nervous around strangers, especially men, she quickly warms up once she feels comfortable and safe. With a little patience and understanding, she will be your loyal and loving companion. On walks, she is generally well-behaved, though she can get a little strong on the leash when she's excited and wants to play. When she's calm, she walks beautifully by your side, making for enjoyable outings. She prefers quieter walks in not so busy areas. She is good with other dogs and could live with other friendly friends. Zuri will do best in a home with slower household with a predictable routine. Can be left at home for a full workday once she is settled into her routine. She could also be a great work-from-home companion as she just sleeps on her bed during the day. Zuri is completely house trained. She is a bit of a couch potato enjoys walks but does not have a high exercise requirement. She will chase small animals outside. Zuri is food motivated making training easier. She really bonds quickly with her favorite people. This young girl has a lot of potential and will thrive in a patient, loving home where she can build trust and confidence. Story
Meet Joe! Are you looking for someone who loves love, long walks on the beach, and stares lovingly into your eyes. While we know that the term Gentle Giant is a little cliche, Joe is exactly that. He just wants to telepathically tell you how much he loves you and be at your side at all times.Joe would thrive with a active guardian that enjoys spending time with him both indoors and outdoors. He loves to play in the yard and go on walks. Joe loves to play with his toys and will toss them up in the air to show you just how amazing his stuffys are. He will need some patience and positive reinforcement initially so he gets used to keeping all four paws on the ground and throwing himself at you feet for affection. He has a tendency to get quite excited when he hasn't seen you for a few moments. Joe is very strong on walks so definitely a sturdy person is needed. With some guidance and patience he will understand you love him regardless. If Joe sounds like the right fit for your family, please fill in an online application!
