ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/11175Pleased to meet you! I’m Remembering Bubba Gump 2021 but my friends call me Roland. I’m told that I’m a 90 lbs hound mix and about 8 years old but I’m an old soul. I love people but tend to want to be one of the guys. I like when other pets and humans match my lower energy level, or I could be an only child too! It’s probably best that I stay clear of the kitchen or I might help myself to a tasty treat, or two! I haven’t always known where my next meal will come from, so I can get a little moody towards people and animals. This is true with spaces too. You can’t make me get off the couch…but I can be convinced. -Loves to walk, but hold on tight I can pull! -Crate trained, but secure me in! -Loud noises can spook me, especially when I’m alone-Food Motivated -I’m a people person-I could chill with a cool cat -I’d be better with an experienced dog ownerMy foster dad has been working really hard with me and I have come a long way! He says that all my quirks can be easily managed, but my new family must have the patience to listen and willingness to understand them. Apply today!Click here to see me with my foster! See more here, here, here, here, and here. This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving at the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. The dog was treated for the disease prior to transport north. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read more about heartworm disease here here

ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13592Meet Chandler – A Playful Spirit with a Heart of Gold!Name: ChandlerGender: MaleBreed: Mixed BreedAge: Approximately 1 year (born on the 4th of July!)Weight: 47 lbsAbout ChandlerHi! I’m Chandler, a sweet, 47 lb, fun-loving guy looking for a forever home with people who get me. I'm really a great dog when I'm comfortable in my environment, and my foster mom says I am completely endearing. PersonalityI’m a sweet boy who is a bit shy with humans until I know they’re trustworthy. But once I do, I am the best snuggler. I take to dogs easily and would benefit from having a doggie sibling to take cues from. Energy LevelCars and noises make walks a bit scary for me, so I'm better with a yard to run around in. Chase is really fun to play with a friend! After some playtime, I'm happy to snuggle up on the sofa, or lounge around while you work.Skills and TrainingI’m potty-trained, kennel trained, and I know my basic commands. I take treats politely and will happily sit to receive one! I enjoy all kinds of toys and bones.CompanionshipI get along great with other dogs and love playtime with them, but I’m still learning to be comfortable with people, especially men. A home with more female humans or a quieter environment would be ideal while I build my confidence around new people.Love and AffectionI may be a bit of a goofball, but I’m learning to trust. With time, I am a happy, loyal, affectionate companion. I can’t wait to bring my playful spirit and my sweet heart into my forever home!Check out some fun videos of me: Click here to see me in action!! Click here to see the cool tricks I've learned!. ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/12170***Sponsored for $200 by Foster, so adoption fee is now $175!Meet Roxy - A Gorgeous Pup with a Playful Spirit!Name: RoxyGender: FemaleBreed: Boxer MixAge: 4 yearsWeight: 44 lbsCurrent Location: Timonium, MDAbout RoxyHello there! My name is Roxy, and I’m a 4-year-old Boxer mix with distinctive, gorgeous features and a playful spirit. I’m a petite 44 pounds, just the right size for both adventures and snuggles, and I have a lot of love to share! I am a local star and had the opportunity to let my personality shine on WMAR-2 News, Pets on Set segment!PersonalityI’m a friendly, wiggly girl who’s always excited to greet my people with enthusiasm. When you come home, I may jump up to say hello, but I quickly settle down for quality cuddle time. I love meeting new people, and my warm personality makes me a joy to be around. I’m also a little silly and promise to bring lots of laughs to your life with my playful antics!Skills and TrainingI’m fully housetrained and crate-trained, so I’m easy peasy! I’m also great with children, and I’ll gladly be their loyal friend and gentle protector. I know sit, come and crate commands!CompanionshipIf you’re looking for a sweet, loyal, and affectionate companion, I’m the one for you! I’ll bring warmth, joy, and loyalty to your home and be there to welcome you every day with a wag and a snuggle. I need to be the only pet in the home!Energy LevelI enjoy neighborhood walks and am a very good leash walker on a EZ Walk Harness! I may pull if I see a squirrel or bunny, but with training this should get better. While I prefer to be the only pet in my home, I am making progress in staying calm around other dogs when out and about. I’ve even walked alongside my foster dog sister and done an excellent job ignoring her. I will need someone who is committed to give continued guidance and training on leash reactivity so I can keep improving! I’d be a great running or hiking partner or would love playtime in the yard rolling in the sun. Love and AffectionI have a lot of love to give and can’t wait to share it with someone who appreciates my gentle, friendly nature!Come meet me, and let me show you just how special I am!

Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13274Meet Trix, a curious, and friendly pup who is always ready to play.Name: TrixAge of late January 2025: 13 months, DOB: Dec. 16, 2023Weight: 45 LbsBreed: Shepherd mix. PERSONALITYTrix is sweet and energetic and likes to explore. This is a high-energy and very clever girl who loves other dogs and people. COMPANIONSHIPTrix loves being with people and will follow her favorite humans around where ever they go. After playtime – and showing off her best zoomies - she calms down nicely and is ready to cuddle. She will sometimes take her cues from her foster siblings and gets excited when her foster sibs reciprocate. Trix’s foster parents expect her to mature into a great walking/hiking companion. Trix likes to play with other dogs and prefers dogs her own size. Her ideal day would consist of lots of time outside sniffing and exploring her yard. TRAINING AND LEARNINGThis smart girl has already learned many commands including touch, sit, stay, down, wait, leave it, come, roll over. Trix was potty trained with her first family but needs some re-learning after finding herself back at the shelter. She prefers to potty while roaming freely in her yard, rather than while on a leash. Trix is very good about getting in her crate when given the command, and sleeps peacefully through the night there. She also seems fine in her crate if no one is home. If she knows her humans are at home, however, she will let you know that she wants out, so she doesn’t miss any of the action – or love. She is working on her leash manners and learning to keep her curiosity in check when she really wants to go say hello to another dog out for a walk. As she gets more comfortable with her foster family, she is learning that she doesn’t need to guard her food or toys. If one of Trix’s foster siblings picks up a toy that Trix was playing with, Trix will acknowledge the transgression with a bark but she relents and lets her sib keep the toy. Trix is quite interested in her feline foster sib but shows no aggression. She sometimes summons her inner feline and sits on the back of the couch to look out a window. Trix is good about riding in the car.LOVE AND AFFECTIONTrix likes to show her love by giving lots of kisses. Overall, Trix is definitely affectionate. IDEAL HOMETrix would thrive in a home with active adults without young children. Around young children, Trix sometimes feels she needs to be protective of her turf. A big fenced yard and lots of walks would be very beneficial for her. Given her energy level and the fact that she sometimes barks in her crate, she would probably not be the best fit for apartment living. She would do best with a patient family who can help her learn to be her best self.
