Story
Roscoe was found running in a rural area last fall. Our vet estimated he had been out on his own for several weeks and that he is 3 years old. We took him in and our two beagles do not like him at all. Roscoe is extremely timid but very loving. It was instantly obvious he had been abused. He cowers when you reach out to pet him but absolutely loves being petted and scratched. He doesnt really understand how to play, he does get playful though when out in the yard. He is a goofy dog with some quirks. He spins in circles at the door to go outside and to come back in. Every meal is like he hasn’t eaten in days, we use a slow feeder. He does not use his nose like you would expect a hound to, he definitely could never be used for hunting, he’d never find anything. Roscoe needs a home full of love and attention, he hasn’t had much and he deserves it! He is housebroken and crated. He is fully vetted and on flea/tick/heart worm preventative. He is approximately 65lbs.

Story
Foster location: Laingsburg, Michigan Meet Lindy! Lindy is a gorgeous 5 month old puppy that is believed to be a Terrier/Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix. She was found abandoned in a wooded area and not reclaimed so she came to Adopt A Pup to find her forever home. She is a very active girl who loves playing with her foster siblings and running with them and playing fetch in the yard, and then cuddling up with her foster mom on the couch at night. She can be a little shy at first but once she is comfortable with you she’s a total love bug. Lindy is house and crate trained. She would enjoy an active home with another young playful dog. We are unsure if she has lived with kids before but would likely do well with respectful children. Lindy would greatly benefit from obedience training and would excel at agility training, her ideal family would be willing to enroll her in training so she can be the best dog she can be! Lindy’s adoption fee is $400, she is current on vaccines, microchipped, fecal negative, and current on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. A $150 spay deposit will be collected at the time of adoption and refunded once proof of spay is received within 3 months of adoption. Please follow the instructions to apply for Lindy found in the auto-reply you will receive or email adoptapupanimalrescue@gmail.com for an application. Adopt A Pup is 100% foster-based which means we do not have a centralized facility where you can visit our dogs. The first step towards meeting the dog(s) you are interested is to complete an application. One of our volunteers will contact your references and set up a time between you and the foster to meet and interact with the dog(s) of interest.

Story
Foster location: Eagle, Michigan Meet Axel! Axel is a super handsome 1.5 year old Cattle Dog mix that is looking for his forever home. He is a very social boy who loves playing with his foster siblings and running with them in the yard, going for walks and meeting new people and then cuddling up on the couch at night with his foster mom. Axel has been attending doggy daycare and loves it! Axel is house and crate trained and walks good on a leash. He is great about chewing on his toys and bones and not getting into things he shouldn’t. Axel would enjoy an active home with another young dog to play with, he has really bonded with his foster siblings and enjoys running and playing with them. Kids make Axel nervous so he is looking for a home without children. Axel is a very sweet and smart boy and catches onto new things quickly, he is young and ready to learn! In order to set him up for success we would recommend his family enroll him in a positive reinforcement training class upon adoption. Axel’s adoption fee is $300, he is neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped, dewormed, and current on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Please follow the instructions to apply for Axel found in the auto-reply you will receive or email adoptapupanimalrescue@gmail.com for an application.
