Story
This is max! I rescued him after he was left behind during a snow storm, I am currently fostering him until I find a forever home. He is a sweet and caring dog, no signs of resource guarding or aggression, interacts well with other dogs ( I have 2) and does not bark, jump or dig to escape lol I am unfortunately unable to take him in permanently because of limited space and my other animals. Max would do best in a home with other friendly dogs or as the only pet, but he does have a tendency to scare cats with his high energy friendship haha! although he has calmed down to them over the past 3 weeks. This furry dude deserves a loving family and needs your help to find it! ❤️

Story
Teddy is an adorable 3 yr old, 13 lb Shih Tzu.    He is an active and athletic Shih Tzu. Teddy will make a great companion for a devoted walker, as weather doesn’t affect his love of a daily brisk walk.   He needs a home where someone is frequently around, as Teddy prefers to be with his person and will happily keep you company wherever you go.   With just a little patience as he adjusts to his new home, this little guy will warm right up. He’s a young, small dog who is quick and will dart for an open door, so his adoptive home needs to be prepared to manage him around outside doorways. Teddy needs to be only dog, since he likes all the attention and all the treats! The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 2 inches, and attached to the home - meaning you have an inside door that opens into the fenced yard. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500November 4, 2024, 1:54 am

Story
Henry is a 3-year-old, 12 lb. Pekingese mix.  We have no clue what Henry might be mixed with, perhaps Corgi, due to his long body and short legs, but he has a silky soft coat.   Henry walks nicely on a leash and is completely housetrained. Henry likes to be where his person is and will follow you from room to room. Henry is a low-maintenance dog and happy to sit on a chair or dog bed near you while you work or watch TV.  Henry does get underfoot so you have to look before you move. Henry will also try to herd people and other dogs, so he must have some kind of herding breed in his genes.     Henry gets along with other small dogs and will wrestle and play with one who wants to do the same. If there is another dog in the home, it should weigh 16 pounds or less.   Henry is quick and his herding attempts (poking at the back of your ankles) make him a trip hazard, at the same time he is low-key and a really easy dog to share your home with.   The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee.   WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME (NO YOUNG CHILDREN) WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD FOR HENRY'S ADOPTIVE HOME.  The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 2 ½ inches and attached to the home. Story
***Angel and Tiger are a bonded pair. They must be adopted together.*** Angel (black) and Tiger (tan & white) are sister and brother duo who are adoptable as a bonded pair.  Their owner who had become unhoused and knowing she needed to rehome them, reached out to our rescue for assistance. Angel and Tiger are 3 yr old Shih Tzus who weigh about 10 pounds. They are young, happy and  active little dogs who are friendly and love to sit with their humans. They are crate-trained and doing well with house training if taken out on a regular schedule.  They are playful, but not hyper, and are good at entertaining themselves.  They have not been leash-trained yet.  Angel is more outgoing and loves to play with toys and retrieve the frisbee. She can be a little bossy and tries to run the show, but Tiger doesn’t mind. He has a quieter personality and is content to just be near his human or take a little nap.  Their personalities really do complement each other. Angel loves to do zoomies around the yard and Tiger is content to smell the flowers. They know their names and come when called, but they are small & quick around doorways.  These two could be a trip hazard for someone with balance issues.  Tiger has dry eye, which is not uncommon with Shih Tzus, so he’ll need Tacrolimus eye drops daily in both eyes. Tiger will come with 2 bottles of Tacrolimus which should last approximately 4 months. The average cost of a bottle is $75.  One bottle should last 60-70 days. Tiger is easy to administer eye drops to.      We are requiring that Angel and Tiger be adopted together. If there are any other dogs in the home, they will need to weigh no more than 15 lbs. Tiger gets along with all other dogs, but Angel has a strong personality and may need a few weeks to find her place in the home. Tiger needs a little time to become comfortable in his new home and trust his surroundings. They have to be fed separately because Tiger eats more slowly than Angel and she will bully him to try to get to his food.  Ideally, Angel and Tiger would be the only dogs in the home, but can coexist peacefully with another low-key small dog, preferably a Shih Tzu.  WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, gaps no larger than 1 1/2 inches, which is attached to the home. An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace without grass, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee:  $450 for each (our standard adoption fee is $500), $900 for the pair. January 20, 2025, 2:17 am
