Story
Hi! My name is Clover. I am sweet, loving, loyal, and full of energy. I am very affectionate and I will lean up against you right away for cuddles. I was adopted from a rescue at six weeks old, and I'm currently two and a half years old. Unfortunately, my humans have had several changes lately and are no longer able to provide the time and attention I need. I'm a super smart dog and learn new things very easily. I am very food-motivated and I love to do tricks for treats. I am crate-trained, house-trained, and leash-trained. Even though I love meeting new people, I get nervous around new dogs and need someone who is patient and willing to help me work on socialization. I'll do best in a home where I get to live inside with my human and where I'm the only dog.

Story
Pips is a young and healthy Cattle Dog / Border Collie mix, 50 lbs weight, with blue heeler coloring. When I rescued him in February of 2023, the vet estimated him at 2 years old, making him 3-4 years old now. He was already neutered when I adopted him, and I have kept him up to date on all his vaccines. He takes one capsule of anxiety medication every morning. He's a sweetheart with all kinds of people, extremely eager to please, loves cuddles and head-butts, and very food motivated for easy training. He has typical high energy for the breed and loves to run. He was skittish and dog-aggressive initially, but has calmed down significantly with dedicated training. He is now mostly only reactive when leash walking, but his high energy and playful nature can sometimes frighten smaller or older dogs. I'd love for him to find a permanent home with lots of yard space or a farm to run around, or an active owner that wants to include him in frequent outdoor activities.

Story
Honey is a two-year-old yellow lab mix. She is around 50lbs and is full grown. Her ears are almost like a sharpei type breed ears along with her curly half tail. Her golden eyes will mesmerize you. Honey was found as an abandoned stray with another puppy. She is housebroken, walks great on a leash, and loves to cuddle and give kisses. She loves everyone she meets. Honey knows how to sit and catch a treat. Honey is the best dog! She loves to play with other dogs she meets, gets along great with cats who are ok with dogs, and loves to cuddle with humans, too. Honey will sleep with her person all through the night and enjoys naps by the window. She can entertain herself with chew toys while left alone but is also crate trained. She does prefer to have a dog buddy with her to pass the time and keep her company. Honey loves to run and would be a great walking or running partner, do well at doggie daycare, or chilling at her home. If you would like to meet Honey, please visit our website at hsdavie.org/dogs and complete an adoption application on her.

Story
WE MUST TALK ABOUT BRUNO! Bruno is a large lab/hound mixed breed around 75 lbs. He is 3 years old. Bruno was surrendered to a local shelter from a sad situation, but he is ready to put the past behind him and find his forever home. Poor Bruno was the only dog but lived with several cats and came from a hoarding case. He is housebroken, gets along well with dogs, cats, and kids. He loves to explore his new surroundings and thinks everything is his toy. He is doing well leash training and loves to be outside walking or playing. Bruno is a strong guy. He needs a fenced in yard or someone who can handle his strength. He needs a family to allow him to continue training and exercises him regularly. Due to Bruno's past, you would think he would have some trust issues with humans, but he loves everyone he meets instead. He wants to show you how much he loves you by tackling you sometimes without meaning to. He's a big goofball and doesn't know his size. In Bruno's heart, soul, and mind, he identifies as a Shitzu. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. If you're interested in adopting Bruno, please visit our website at hsdavie.org/dogs and complete an adoption application.

Story
Paul is a handsome one year old boy, with a beautiful brindle coat, looking to find his furever home! Paul found himself at the local shelter where he spent 200 days, injured and without a home. He has since recovered from his injuries and is making up for lost time. He has tons of puppy energy but is a loving cuddle bug when he's not running around. His foster family says that Paul is crate and house trained but pulls like a tugboat on the leash. He will need to go to a home who have the time and patience to teach him leash manners. They also say Paul is smart, trainable and seems to have a strong desire to please his people. He would do best in a home with dogs his size and older children. Paul is move in ready and would love to find his people. If you are interested in meeting Paul, please visit hsdavie.org/dogs and click on his picture for an application.

Story
I am the goodest boy. I love all people. I love other dogs and cats. I walk good on a leash but I am pretty strong. I’m a hound dog with my nose to the ground but not a hunter. My last people didn’t care about me. They made me hungry all the time and they let me get heartworms. My rescue people love me. They have my heartworms treated and my belly is never empty. I don’t have to be outside in the heat, rain and cold. My angels were sent for me. They tell me my Furever Angel will come along shortly. Until then I’m living the bestest life.
